What about merchanting phats?! I've heard you can make 10m a time if you merchant well... I'd do that! Then if my friend ever returned to RS, i could buy him/her a new one anyway!

Sell it for it's highest price then go crazy and spend money on skills,armour etc

I would ask my friend if there was a specific way they wanted me to use it, and respect their wishes if they did (such as selling it to lvl up skills), but if they just wanted to give it to me then I would either keep it (which was my vote) or work on upgrading it if I liked another color better.

Seriously, if a friend gave you a phat they want you to get really rich off of it. They don't care if you keep it or not because they won't see it again either way.

I disagree. Many of the people I consider friends in runescape are people I would consider friends outside the game if the chance ever came. I know them as well as any friend I've ever had. If my friend gives me something, I will always keep it because it will remind me of them.

 

In the case of a party hat: Have you ever had a friend give you a car? If it's worth around $1000, then that's how much a party hat is worth. Would you just turn around and sell it if they gave it to you?

Maybe try re-reading the poll. "If your best friend quit Runescape and gave you a party hat:" Maybe people have better 'best friends' only in Runescape, I don't know for sure, but when I read that I really do believe they were talking more-so towards real life. Besides, what does it matter if it is just "Runescape" they are still your friends.

 

 

 

Even if I didn't know them outside of Runescape. I would rather remember the memories we did have rather then just sell them off like yourself and the majority of people in this poll. Because when it comes down to it friends make the world go around, and make this game much more enjoyable.

Well, I have been trusted (and still am) with a friend of mine's white phat. If he were to quit, I think the idea of it being his would split me up. I think the 3rd option "I would wear it for a while untill I get bored with it, then sell it." would suit me best. But the description would be wrong. I think i'd just be divided between selling it (if i needed cash for some goal of mine) and the fact that it was my friend's. I would probably end up doing what's best for me in the long run, even though I'd keep the phat if I could help it

Well a car can actually be used for something. A phat is pointless except for the money. Trust me, if your friend gave you a phat, he'd want the best for you. And the best situation for a phat is to sell it to some guy who just alch 100k yew longs.

Well, there are about 2 people that play that I know in real life, and around 4 that I would freaking love to know. If it was any of them, though, they'd keep it just to spite me -.-

tbh id keep a gift from a friend who quit. no matter wat it was, even if it was say...a bead set (from imp catcher) lol

if they did...i would wear it then sell it once i got bored of it. to those of you who say will cherish it for ever, i think its like my lvl 85 mining goal, you will most likley get tempted, and sell it, or abandon the goal. lol otherwise, yea i think i would look sweet in one :XD:
