June 26, 200719 yr What about merchanting phats?! I've heard you can make 10m a time if you merchant well... I'd do that! Then if my friend ever returned to RS, i could buy him/her a new one anyway!
June 26, 200719 yr I'd give it to another of my best friends (explaining, of course, its sentimental value), since I'm sure they'd get more enjoyment out of it/not lose it.
June 26, 200719 yr Yeah...I remember when my best friend in Runescape actually quit. He gave me a cabbage as a joke, but I still have it =) Pretty much what Dragon said.Thread terminated.I guess that means I'm the thread Terminator? No Tip.Iters were harmed in the making of this post.
June 26, 200719 yr Keep it forever. Unlike most of you money hungry people. A gift from a friend, especially one kind enough just to give the party hat to you should deserve no less but to see you hold onto it. Especially if (s)he ever comes back, it'll mean alot to them and yourself to know you actually kept it for all that time without selling it. But I guess a majority of the posters (before this post) could care less what their friends meant to them. -.- They just don't give you something so you can go sell it five minutes later.. It's a symbol of friendship. It's a damn shame for you to think otherwise, and I pity you for it. Couldn't agree more. : Follow me on Twitter!FORGET NOT THE CHICKEN.I have no intrest in helping "keyers" farm xp.
June 26, 200719 yr if it was a really good friend and they were actually quitting, i would keep it, but if it was just someone i knew online or not that great of friends, i would sell it THIS IS A SIG!
June 26, 200719 yr Sell it for it's highest price then go crazy and spend money on skills, armour etc My RuneScape Blog. Click here!
June 26, 200719 yr I would ask my friend if there was a specific way they wanted me to use it, and respect their wishes if they did (such as selling it to lvl up skills), but if they just wanted to give it to me then I would either keep it (which was my vote) or work on upgrading it if I liked another color better. Legends quest completed at lvl 47 on X Legendre X#3056 to 99 firemaking, achieved on July 4th, 2007.Tied for #1854 to 99 farming, achieved on September 3rd, 2008.
June 26, 200719 yr Seriously, if a friend gave you a phat they want you to get really rich off of it. They don't care if you keep it or not because they won't see it again either way. If they gave you something like a dragonstone ring then it would be different. I would put a cool link here but I don't know how.
June 26, 200719 yr I would shout out wahoooooooo! Then I'd were it for a while, til i think to myself I want 99 construction or prayer or even both (depending on which phat).

It's not your irl friend giving you his pet cat because he goes on a holiday (if you kill/ eat/ sell that, you are cruel). I would keep it for a while (screenies, bragging) then sell it for cash. There's a lot I could do with 200m. Retired 2146 overall - 136 combat - 6 skillcapes Plus I think the whole teenage girl thing will end soon (hopefully), because my girlfriend is absolutely in love with him(she is 18), and im beginning to feel threatened by his [Justin Bieber] dashing looks.

There's a lot I could do with 200m. I disagree. Many of the people I consider friends in runescape are people I would consider friends outside the game if the chance ever came. I know them as well as any friend I've ever had. If my friend gives me something, I will always keep it because it will remind me of them. In the case of a party hat: Have you ever had a friend give you a car? If it's worth around $1000, then that's how much a party hat is worth. Would you just turn around and sell it if they gave it to you? ~M
June 26, 200719 yr i would keep it for a while and then i would sell it and buy 3rd age mage gear and get me construction lv and prayer lv up! OMG SOME1 GIVE ME A PHAT! woah, n00b moment there :wall: click here view me bog! I will become the Azure flame!
June 26, 200719 yr I don't care who it is, I'd sell it at once before the phat prices would be reduced by a catastrophic update. My memory of that friend would be my 99 *insert skill/s here*, not the phat. And I'm poor anyways. You're being watched.
June 26, 200719 yr First I'd ask why my friend never told me he had a phat  , but I would keep it forever until I quit. :? Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much.Oscar Wilde

June 26, 200719 yr I'd keep for a while and then sell, but make sure to never get poor, so that I could buy one back if he ever started playing RS again. TeamSweden - Swedish 115+ F2P Cmb Country Clan

There's a lot I could do with 200m. :-s Maybe try re-reading the poll. "If your best friend quit Runescape and gave you a party hat:" Maybe people have better 'best friends' only in Runescape, I don't know for sure, but when I read that I really do believe they were talking more-so towards real life. Besides, what does it matter if it is just "Runescape" they are still your friends. Even if I didn't know them outside of Runescape. I would rather remember the memories we did have rather then just sell them off like yourself and the majority of people in this poll. Because when it comes down to it friends make the world go around, and make this game much more enjoyable. But maybe you would rather have pixels? I'd accuse you of being a horrible friend, but I won't. But you don't really give me the impression to believe otherwise..
June 26, 200719 yr Well, I have been trusted (and still am) with a friend of mine's white phat. If he were to quit, I think the idea of it being his would split me up. I think the 3rd option "I would wear it for a while untill I get bored with it, then sell it." would suit me best. But the description would be wrong. I think i'd just be divided between selling it (if i needed cash for some goal of mine) and the fact that it was my friend's. I would probably end up doing what's best for me in the long run, even though I'd keep the phat if I could help it Runescaper since June 2005Blog

Would you just turn around and sell it if they gave it to you? Well a car can actually be used for something. A phat is pointless except for the money. Trust me, if your friend gave you a phat, he'd want the best for you. And the best situation for a phat is to sell it to some guy who just alch 100k yew longs. I would put a cool link here but I don't know how.
June 27, 200719 yr Well, there are about 2 people that play that I know in real life, and around 4 that I would freaking love to know. If it was any of them, though, they'd keep it just to spite me -.- Then they'd sell it and buy me third age mage robes/100,000 laws! Right? Riiiiight? O:) catch it now so you can like it before it went so mainstream
June 27, 200719 yr I would guard it for all eternity!!!!     all of my RS friends i know in RL and 2 of my friends got bored/cant play... so... moving on... If you jump into a river in Paris, you're insane. If you jump into a river in Egypt, you're in denial.
June 27, 200719 yr id keep it. definately tbh id keep a gift from a friend who quit. no matter wat it was, even if it was say...a bead set (from imp catcher) lol I'm gonna be walking down an alley in varrock, and walka is going to walk up to me in a trench coat and say "psst.. hey man, wanna buy some sara brew"walka92- retired with 99 in attack, strength, defence, health, magic, ranged, prayer and herblore and 137 combat. some day i may return to claim 138 combat, but alas, that time has not yet come
June 27, 200719 yr if they did...i would wear it then sell it once i got bored of it. to those of you who say will cherish it for ever, i think its like my lvl 85 mining goal, you will most likley get tempted, and sell it, or abandon the goal. lol otherwise, yea i think i would look sweet in one :XD: p.s also depends on the colour  [Thank you very much Skull_Emblem For the Beutiful Sig And Jopie for doing the Text]
