Against his rights? You decide.

Featured Replies

Well a friend of mine for the last day of school dressed up in womens clothing. He was in school for maybe an hour before the princible made him change. I think this is aginst his rights..This is america. Your aloud to wear what ever you want. This is a public school. All of the clothing he was wearing was indeed aloud in the dress code.

So what do you think?

lol i remember something like that happening my freshman year at school, was pretty funny, the guy ended up missing one of his exams and had to stay and extra day of school to re-take it.

reason that that our princaple said was "it is disracting to ther test takers"

btw, when you enter on to school properity some of rights are taken away that you have in other places, such as alchol and such, your lockers, legally w\e you put in your locker, the school\goverement has to right to look through, but if its in your bookbag, they dont. look in the rule book or w\e you have and you can look up stuff like this up.

legends2.jpg

I'm sure if you look in the rule book there will be a MALE and FEMALE dress code of some such, and you probably won't find that guys can dress up like girls.

My school had a uniform like almost all the colleges over here, cept for the final year, you got mufti for the whole year, was good times.

ledzeppelin1jl6.jpg

My friend had a full-body black trench coat custom tailored ($200) so he could be Neo

for halloween. When he wore it to school they made him take it off, even though it was

technically in dress code.

The official dress code is just a guideline. The fact is, the school administrators have the

right to veto any outfit they feel is distracting, or otherwise unacceptable.

One time I got sent home because I wore a skirt with knee socks, one sock was sky blue

and the other was grass green and they said it was "distracting the other students". -.-

But hey, excused absence from school so I didn't complain.

To tell you the truth i have looked through the rule book. The dress code has the rules and thats it. Its not like the have a male and female dress code.

I dunno' what country you live in. :o

In most public schools in the U.S., they -do- have male/female dress codes. For example, it's

against the rules in most schools for boys to have their ears pierced, but obviously girls can.

I am arresting you because you can't spell.

Joking. Lol. I disagree. Men have men clothing, and vice versa

I dont need a siggy no moar.

Attempting to define fashion for male or female is equatable to committing ritual suicide.

Having said that, by accepting the terms and conditions - which you have to do - when you go to school, I'm relatively sure that they have the right to tell someone to change provided they do have rules regulating uniform.

In my school, I actually have to wear a uniform. If my shirt is untucked, my tie - not tight around the neck enough - or a button undone, I can get a detention.

.

I think it is against his rights if he really just wanted to wear female clothes. That is, if he likes to crossdress, this is entirely against his rights.

If he was doing it to make fun of anyone, however, as a joke, then I think it would be very understandable to make him change as it could be considered harassment. I doubt this was the case though, and hope it wasn't :)

Everybody hug and spread the love :D

Dude i want to do that. and it'd work considerably better for me, since I'm a guy.

It's a school, you're there to learn your male friends dressing up as a girl is distracting.

With so many trees in the city you could see the spring coming each day until a night of warm wind would bring it suddenly in one morning. Sometimes the heavy cold rains would beat it back so that it would seem that it would never come and that you were losing a season out of your life. But you knew that there would always be the spring as you knew the river would flow again after it was frozen. When the cold rains kept on and killed the spring, it was as though a young person had died for no reason. In those days though the spring always came finally but it was frightening that it had nearly failed.

If it did infact say in the dress code the cross dressing is against the rules, than yup, you have to abide by them. That's the breaks, I guess.

Seeing someone cross dress is, in fact, very distracting to the other students, and distracting clothing is against the school rules almost everywhere.

And as far as the black trench coat, since the events at Columbine High School, any sort of clothing like that would make you seem suspect as well.

Those are the breaks, but I understand why the school officials take that stance.

Just wear jeans and a t-shirt (nothing offensive) and you should be fine.

I'm a married mother that plays RuneScape. Got a problem with that?

I'm with all the others who say that it would make for a distracting learning environment. Just be glad you don't go to a school with a uniform like I did.

I don't know what you mean by most... Many boys at my school have ear piercings... Everywhere I've lived it's been allowed.

GOOOOOOOOOO ALAN! WOO!

You think public schools take away your rights? you'll die in a private school <.<

[hide=]

tip it would pay me $500.00 to keep my clothes ON :(
But then again, you fail to realize that 101% of the people in this universe hate you. Yes, humankind's hatred against you goes beyond mathematical possibilities.
That tears it. I'm starting an animal rebellion using my mind powers. Those PETA bastards will never see it coming until the porcupines are half way up their asses.

Apparently a lot of people say it. I own.

Private schools are really aloud to do what they want. And Public schools 4 lyphhe

nadrunecraftingarmywz0.png

Stop making such a fuss, it's got little to do with "rights", you probably can wear what you want, but what if you wore a t-shirt covered in swearing? Or just a thong? Common sense needed.

Thats different. That would be violating the dress code.

Ah, so there's a dress code. Is that violating your right to wear what you like?

Yeah, but this was practically skin tight. You know, like the one Neo wore in The Matrix.
