I don't see a problem with this. First of all, it's not a law as so many of you keep calling it. It's more like an ad campaign. Second, the advertising campaign is not trying to criminalize fathers (or any family member) who holds their daughters hand. The picture they used is supposed to represent a stranger or predator that the kid meets. Perhaps they could have used an image of a man sexually assaulting a little girl to make it more obvious, but I doubt that image would go over very well either.

 

 

 

I'm also not too worried about people reporting fathers for holding their daughters hand simply because they saw this ad. If someone is stupid enough to look at this ad and take it as literally meaning "if a man holds a girls hand he should immediately be reported" then this same person would probably hold up traffic at a stop sign as he sits there waiting for the sign to tell him start moving again. This thing is being blown way out of proportion.

This is kind of strange... Although if you are a father, if the police come, you can simply tell them and show them identification that you are indeed a father of that child.

Anyways I agree with Tigra. I think this is mostly just a "if it looks questionable, report it" type deal. Sadly it will probably end up like the 'child abuse' deal. You know, you spank your child and its 'omg abuse'. Likewise hugging your child might get some activist who-knows-what on your case.

I hate being a guy sometimes, as you always have to watch how you act around kids, otherwise people might think 0mgz0rz pedophile!

 

 

 

This test I have seen on alot of programmes, but they did it NZ once, on a show Battle of the Sexes. And they got a little girl to sit on the side of the road by herself (presumadly lost) and see how many guys stop to see if she is ok in relation the woman, to see who cares the most. Obviously more woman stopped then men. When the men that walked on by without stopping were asked why they didn't they all said "I would of stopped, but I'm worried about what people would think when I'm talking to a little girl".

 

 

 

Only two guys stopped, a policeman (who was alerted by a worried male further down the road) and a teacher who felt more comfortable.
