wakka102
the heaviest band that I know is Psyopus get the song "insects", it will change you're life. It's an amazing song and he only uses a pick in 1 part of the whole song. It's probably my favorite metal song. also if you want a really cool/strange metal song get "imogenis puzzle pt. 2" it's extremely good and something you can play on a boom box outside you're house on halloween. Poopingman
Really brutal? I dunno, Behemoth, Nile, Vesania are all good examples. Norther is easily the best Bodom clone, and can't be missed if you're a fan. Metal fans, check out my band!Still the King....

goldphishies
Necrophagist(staaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaabbbbbbbbbbbwwwwwwwwwwuuuuuuuuuunnnnnnnnnnnddddddddddd!!!!!!!!!!!!), that will be the most annoying song you listen to though. Children of Bodom (check out their "Oops I Did It Again" cover) Forever Cleansing Judas Priest has some songs like that, mainly the Ripper Years, but go with Painkiller, it is their best album. That's all off the top of my head. Sorry Wakka but that was one of the worst metal songs I've heard. The climax at around 3:00 was pretty cool but the rest of the song ruined it. The heaviest songs I've come across in my 'search for the worlds heaviest song' are Homage for Satan by Deicide and Lashed to the Slave Stick by Nile. If you're looking for a really good heavy metal album, look for Morning Star by Entombed. Its really crushing and paints some brilliant pictures, mainly due to the guys voice on that album - almost crystal clear yet rough and brutal as a sandpaper chainsaw. Some people like their music all in 4/4 time and it does right catchy tunes. Even I like it alot of time time, but sometimes I just need something really strange and fast and this song does that really well for me. Its a very unique song that I've not heard from anyone else. hohto
Norther is easily the best Bodom clone, and can't be missed if you're a fan. Wouldn't call them a clone, Norther was found before COB even changed their name from Inearthed to Children of bodom. They shared the same training house tho, so it's not surprisingly that they share many similarities. Anaal Nathrakh (yes, first word has 2 a's after the n) would probably fit under this category from bands which haven't been mentioned yet. I'd rather die for what I believe in than live for anything else.Name Removed by Administrator ~Turtlefemm

The production quality (yeah I know that some people think that poor production produces atmosphere, its really just a difference of views) made the song too harsh on the ears. I love my Death metal, its thick (almost rich) sound which is heavy in a 'booming' sort of way. The thiness of that song and the overly distorted guitar worked well together but weren't really my thing. Can you tell me (in your opinion) which pysopus song is the heaviest? I'm looking to get into some Black Metal (I assume thats black, I've had a really hard time getting my hands on that kind of thing and I don't really know what it sounds like). Edit - I've listened to it a bit more and Insects has grown on me. The guitar still sounds horrible though. Thanks Venomai for this super sig and Kwimbob for the awesome avatar! If you want black metal get some Mayhem, Dimmu Borgir, Cradle of Filth, or anything branching from those that you can find. I'm not a very big Black Metal person so I dont have alot of bands that I could tell you. Thats probably psyopus's best song, if you don't like it you wont like their other stuff. The guitar is awesome in that song, I dunno what you're talking about :D . But I dunno what you would class that band as, I guess it would be Death Metal, but its certainly not Black. Also, try listening to Insects without alot of bass, its not as harsh then, because the guitar riffs and time signatures in the song are brilliant. Futurama
try these: http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu ... id=6484459 found out about them a while ago. heavy as hell but without the "trying to be as heavy and filthy as possible" sound that's about atm. aside from that, Dillinger Escape Plan? 8-) I dunno, I find slower stuff a lot harder than the pure filth.
