July 21, 200719 yr Well, what is heavy? I could give some of my personal taste. I'm more of the melodic death/powermetal, general powermetal, gothic metal, such stuff. Some trash metal aswell. Generalizing: All metalbands coming from scandinavia rock. If you're looking for good metal, check in that region, especially Sweden has a lot of good bands. Now, some of my favorites: Cradle of Filth, Dark Tranquility, Diablo(!), Dragonforce, In Flames(!), Megadeth, Slayer(!) The !'s are what I'd recommend most. July 22, 200719 yr Behemoth, Nile, the Black Dahlia Murder, Burzum, Suffocation, Cryptopsy, Satyricon (I think), Job for a Cowboy, and that's all I can think of. But seriously, that will be enough for you, because if you want to find out more, you can just search for similar artists in last.fm (every music-lover's friend). Cool.

Gorgoroth Emperor Ancient At the Gates Arch Enemy Bathory ( I havn't listened to the newer stuff, but the album Under the Sign of the Black Mark is a black metal album.) To throw a few out there... What you define hardcore and what I define hardcore... Idk, but you can test a few of their songs and go from there. Help drive change Canada
July 22, 200719 yr Author Thanks again guys. When I define hardcore, I mean like thrashing uitar, singing, and drums, etc. Really heavy stuff. Know what I mean? Kinda hard to explain it without an example. :XD:
July 22, 200719 yr By a minute, I meant later tonight. Despised Icon - more hardcore than heavy metal. Behemoth - Already recommended. Between The Buried and Me. As Blood Runs Black - Great drums and guitar. Job For A Cowboy - Yeah.. Waking The Cadaver - If you don't like ^, you won't like this. The Black Dahlia Murder. Architects(uk) Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-I took the one less traveled by,And that has made all the difference.

Architects(uk) Ah, I love that band so much. I'm trying to learn Selkies the Endless Obsession on guitar. I have the first four and a half minutes (I think) down, and I'm working on the first solo at the moment. Fun. Cool.
July 22, 200719 yr Deicide - I've heard some of the songs and they were pretty heavy The lead singer branded a cross on his forehead
July 22, 200719 yr Mastodon. They're hard, but they actually make good music instead of just being hard. Signature by Maurice SendakWhen the stars make you drool just like a pasta fazool, that's amore!
July 22, 200719 yr Could you be a bit more specific? If you want brutal metal (e.g. crushing riffs, growling/grunting vocals, drum blast beats and [cabbage]) then you would go for things like Behemoth, Aborted, Cannibal Corpse (meh), Bloodbath, Kronos, Demigod, Aeon, Decapitated. Or do you mean metalcore? (also known as hardcore metal) I hate this stuff, but bleh whatever, some bands you can check out if you meant this are: Killswitch Engage, Bullet For My Valentine, Chimaira, Trivium... don't know many metalcore bands.
July 22, 200719 yr Author Wow thanks for alll the suggestions! I' mgonna spend the day going through iTunes($25 Giftcard FTW)finding some of these bands. Thanks again! P.S. Keep 'em coming. :P
