Actually the F2p version of runescape barely breaks even. Meaning it doesn't create a profit, but it doesn't loose money. I think I got that info from the jagex corporate site, but I cant remember.

I don't mind the update. I only used it once or twice. Even then, the majority of the time it was only garbage that was put into the chest. Now the amount of garbage on F2P world's will just be taken to an elevated level.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Good for the F2P'ers, as for P2P they can just shut up about any complaints since F2P near-to-never gets any updates. Sure, P2P'ers have to PAY for the updates, but if they are going to complain about what they get, then please-by all means, cancel your membership.

I'd suggest that this is essentially an "update by default". Jagex re-did Seers. As part of that, they probably thought "that's not a good place for the party room ... where shall we put it?". "Hey, let's put it in F2P".

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

It is exactly the type of update that, in my mind, is justifiable to go to F2P. It's something that has been P2P for quite some time and doesn't provide any demonstrable benefit to the core of the game. Or put another way, P2P isn't disadvantaged any by moving it.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Apart from the bank space debate, an relatively minor update like this every year is the most I could ever reasonably expect (since we are generating some level of revenue for Jagex by ad views). I don't ever expect Jagex to put extra effort into a new F2P update.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

OFF TOPIC: Bank Space debate - so that people don't go off on that topic, I'd just like to say that I don't think F2P would ever get any more bank space until if/when Jagex re-do the bank interface. For me, it'll be nice if we could have more, but we have no "right" to demand it.

Good. Take it. It's a complete nightmare when trying to sell something in Seers and every few minutes a long trail of flashing text "every1 [bleep] 2 party petes! we iz havin a massssive drop party! over 10k items dropped!!"

I like that Jagax finally gave F2p something. I accepted that as F2p i will get few to none updates, but it is great to see that Jagax is not the cruel heartless, greedy, pigs some make them out to be, because they give F2p crap.

Depends on your definition on "noob". Besides that, not all freeplayers are insanely rich, so what they drop in there could very well be their life savings. How about you look past that part and see that freeplayers actually got something?

Well, there's a lot of things we don't use. For example, why don't we give F2P's all the weapons we don't use? Like Spears and Hally's up to rune (I know some people use Rune Hallies, but still.), or maybe even claws?

I don't care either way. I never use the party room, people with drop parties seldom go there, and free players get something that members find useless. I see no problem here.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

In fact, I think team capes would be put to good use in f2p as well.

You like it, I love it. Whatever the majority of members don't use on a normal basis is up for relocation in my book; if members can't find a valid use for it, them freeplayers most certainly will.

The Party Room has only helped to encourage F2P beggars in my opinion. Have you ever attended a F2P drop party and got like a dozen noobs yelling "Rune p10x"? But I still like it.

Yeah, majority of the P2P members find themselves superior to F2P players for some reason I have yet to find out. But let's face the facts shall we? There will never be a perfect world, nor will there be a game without whiners, airheads, cheaters and ***holes.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Now this is just my opinion.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

P2P members get almost one update every week. So in a year, P2P RS could change significantly and from those changes, new problems arise which people whine about (take PC for example... again). If the amount of whiners are enough, JaGeX changes it/modifies it/adds something to it for better or for worse and then the people who used to be for the update in question will now be against it in most cases (once again take the PC riot for example).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Now, that said, I think that P2P members complain alot more because we get more updates than F2P players do. The more updates and new stuff we get, the more things there are to strongly like, but at the same time, there will be more things there are to strongly dislike. More often than not, people who "hate" the new updates create a thread or publically display their disapproval of it whenever the opportunity to do so arises. While F2P on the other hand, have a definate lack of updates/new stuff making them appreciate and savour anything they get.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Summed up, I guess you could say that P2P are 'spoiled' in sort of a way :-k . I really don't know anymore, after writing that, my brain wants to kill itself .

This is a great update!!! F2pers can finally have parties!!! Although they won't be as good as member parties, it'll be much better!

I'm not taking sides(P2P FOH EVAH!) but, the F2P have no justification to whine about no updates. There is a reason why It's Pay to Play, because we support the game. I do belive they should have the party house though, because now it gets some use.
