Well ive only played Zelda. wii play, wii sports, transformers, and mario party 8 for it so far, and I think it is awesome. Its a system that was built for games, not much else. So if you are a fan of the stuff that has come out or is going to come out, I suggest you buy it. Now saying that, it is hard to play some of the game due to controls, but you an get used to them fairly fast. Also, make sure you have many (I mean a lot) of batteries around. It eats them up fairly fast. the batteries that came with it lasted about the whole 40 hours that it took me to beat Zelda, and any other ones ive put in seem to last around 15 hours.

Also, if you have alot of friends over often, it is very worth while to get, due to the ammount of multiplayer that can go on.

The only single huge bad thing, the controllers are A [bleep] to buy due to them being so expensive (Thats getting both the wiimote and nunchuck. mote is about 55$ and the nunchuck is about 26$)

If you don't have a lot of friends that come over, I wouldn't recommend it. It's really not a single-player console. :/

If you're a casual gamer then buy it, if you're not, don't waste your time. All these games that look cool are not enough. They will release Mario Galaxy and Smash Bro's, and Metroid Prime, but you won't see anything else that appeals to you for years just like the Gamecube. They are focusing more on titles like Wii fit.

I strongly disagree with that statement when Mario Galaxy and Mario Kart wii were the two biggest games by Nintendo at this year's E3...

Nor is Wii Fitness meant to be for a "casual gamer". It's designed to help Nintendo in its goal to appeal to a wider audience.

Wii Wii!

In other words that's a Japanese/French hybrid for yes.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go take a wicked "Yes"

Just kidding, but Family Guy is humourous.

I want to get a Wii too, right now. But I'm just wondering, how many Mario and Zelda titles are out so far? Those are the two that really appeal to me (N64, baby!). Bah, screw spending less than half what I did on a 360, I'll just hope my grandpa's is available to me (Mooching off the elderly, one of my many talents).

I suggest looking around toysRus or any other less known game store cause you will not find any wii's at stores like gamespot or eb games. Also try walmart

To a question asked before, yes the wii can play gamecube games, but you also need game cube controllers.

That's what a casual gamer is. Hardcore gamers are those who want those games that have been expected from Nintendo such as Mario, Metroid Prime, etc.

If you want one, get one..I like em. Besides, it's a Gamcube and a Wii...I'd buy one if I had the money..and I'm not sure how someone my age can come about $300...

They're $300?

Damn, I thought they were only $200....

A wii definitly. I have one myself, and it is awesome. Resident Evil 4 and Zelda are tight, and with awesome games like Metroid Prime 3: Corruption and Super Smash Bros. Brawl, your not gonna want to have to go to your friends houses to play it. Just make sure to find one, cause Nintendo likes to hide things from people.

I agree with everything but that, just get the new rechargable wii docking system. Instead of putting the batteries in, I mean on the back, it acts like the entire battery, and when it's near dead, you plug the bottom of the controller into the dock and it recharges it. It's quite handy. And it's price is a fair 30$ in my local wal mart. Comes with two batteries and the recharge port. And if you can't get that, then just get rechargable batteries, they last forever for me.

Anyway, the Wii's games are fairly good so far. Trauma Center: New Blood is coming out in the holidays, along with metroid, mario cart, Soul Calibur legends, more online downloadable games. Wii fit looks wierd, but I guess it'll be cool with yoga. The Wii Zapper, yes, a gun controller. Guitar Hero 3. Wii has many games coming for it, and it shall kick [wagon]. Finally, Super smash bros brawl. I cannot wait for a lot of these games.

Hoping to get a new Signature (with matching avatar) soon. :D

In the meantime...Steam username: )I'll rewrite it later (add me if you want)

Indeed. Why waste 100+ dollars on stupid batteries that last 2 seconds when you can get recharging ones? I would happily surrender 30$ for recharging batteries, if they are good, which they are...And even better than good. \'

I just got mine about two weeks ago. It's an excellent system. And as said before, the most un-enjoyable part of it was finding it. How I did it was made a list of local stores and their phone numbers that would might have it (Wal Mart, Target, Gamestop, Circuit City, and Best Buy for me), then I called them every morning until I found one that had it. Only took me about 3 days of calling.

The remotes do eat batteries very fast so I would definitely suggest getting either rechargeable batteries or the recharging station. Someone said controllers were $55 for the wiimote and $26 for the nunchuk. That might be right in Canadian, but in the US the wiimote is only $40 (no more expensive than any other first party controller right now) and the nunchuk is about $20.

Overall I've had a very enjoyable experience with it, and a major benefit it has over any other console right now is its reliability. Xbox 360s have a 30% failure rate as quoted by Microsoft, and Sony just isn't know for their quality in general. I'd say if you want a current gen console then that Wii is definitely your best choice right now.

If you aren't one of those video game addicts then Wii, I'm especially excited for Smash Bros. Brawl...(more info on my thread and the site).

Anyway, I hear its quite hard to get, although my mother bought me one the day after Christmas.

Extra controllers are relatively easy to obtain, but I can't seem to get nunchucks, I only have 1.

And as someone said, Wii battery pack on the controller, its great, all you do is it charges when you aren't playing if you put it in the dock.

And also, Wii includes current International News as well as national, economic, scientific and other. It also has weather. These two are easy to use and I like them. It also has internet, a poll channel and you can download games of Super Nintendo, N64, and some other retro console.
