Don't rush the background! :shame:

Like said before, the character looks quite good, but the background is really bad.

It's decent overall, but don't rush the background next time.

[hide=reaction on the text in this topic] thats because ur not (please don't take this serious, but why are saying your so full of yourself? u only get flamed because of it) an advise for your next topic: don't say your talented, because most of the people hate it when someone here sais that who hasn't reached their level of art yet   (admins please contact me if i need to remove this.. i only said it as an advise)[/hide]

wel some c/c:

* The shading is just pile shading what means that u put in a color, then a more darker color and then 1 or 2 more darker colors that are in a curved line untherneath or next to eachother. Look for some other shading techniques since this is pretty much the most worse looking way of shading... An tip: go look for tutorials for exemple here or just in the faq section of this forum.

* Sometimes its better to use the curved line tool for exemple on the death altar. Because after u got the curved line u can chance it a bit but u still have the circular shape.

* Try to look for an tutorial on aa'ing what means anti aliasing. If u do not know what that is i can tell it in a short way: you have a front colour and a background colour. Go get colours between these 2 colors and then place it around the front colour to get and smoother effect. This for exemple is realy handy for the red u used on the pillars in the background.

well i hope u don't take my comment in the hide part serious exept the advise and i hope that i've helped you a bit on your way ::'

tbh, im not liking where this conversation is heading. i never considered your age before until youve told me, i would just like to ask you to leave the thread if at all possible. i didnt expect much praise and i expected quite a bit of flaming, and i suspect that this is the start of it.

i also understand that you werent trying to flame me, but you worded it in such a way that it did sound like flameage.

It's helpful constructive criticism to try and encourage you and advise you that your work needs improving.

how in any way whatsoever has rik done anything wrong apart from try and help you?

If you can't handle the truth.. then don't bother posting work on this gallery.

The Gallery has gotten to soft on people lately.

C/C:

1. Mouth is just a line...

2. Cape is very large on the right side and small on the left.

3. Bg is rushed.

4. Obvious places where the line tool was used. (line tool may be easy, but isn't always the best idea.)

5. Other minor anatomy problems.

99 HP, Attack, Strength, Defence, Summoning, Ranged, Herblore, Prayer, Agility, Magic, Slayer, Fletching, Fishing, Woodcutting, Mining, and Thieving.

Jagex'd out of my untrimmed hp cape on 6/14/2011.

It's an average first piece.

C/C

1. As said above, no real facial features and the mouth is just a line.

2. The shading on the skirt looks as if you just drew some lines and filled it in with the paint bucket in a darker shade.

3. Try some dithering to make it look better quality.

4. Define the muscles in the arms to make it look more muscular.

5. Revamp the scimitar to make it look more intimidating.

6. Backround needs to be redone.

Good start, it's just a work in progress, I'll bet you a mil that Misterxman has to do numerous drafts on all the pixel sigs he does. Most important thing is to just have fun. Good luck, and I await the final piece.

hehe, i couldnt get the mouth to work any better than i could (scary thought, isnt it :ohnoes: )

im quite satisfied with the look i got tho, so i guess thats all that matters

im just hoping i can get some more ratings (1-10/10) instead of c/c...but its all good \'

In my opinion, CC is way more useful than ratings. Ratings dont help you in any way, it doesnt help you improve on anything. Maybe you feel good about a nice rating for a few seconds, but thats all.

Please read the CC that has been given to you, and try to do something with it.

And, dont say you deleted a post, because you did post it.

Woopidoo has the right of it. Ratings are ego boosts. I liked ego boosts myself when I started out pixelling, and I asked for ratings.

Then it dawned on me that replies like "very good" or "9/10 good job" don't actually tell you anything. I didn't want to just be told some number that anyone can throw at me. So, ok, I got a 9... but how can I get a 10?

Well... I don't know, because all anyone told me was "9/10 good job". (not meaning offense to people that did say this)

Comments and criticisms are the things that help you get those 10s. Rik was giving you great criticisms, and if you want your art to be seriously considered here then listening and taking on board crits is the best way to go about it.

Granted, as you said, you're satisfied with your piece, and that's all that matters. I agree with that. But when you come to The Gallery with an image, Gallery vets will crit it to the best of their ability in order to help you improve.

I won't give you a rating - it's not what I do. ;) I think it's alright. Not good, not amazing, it's alright. I don't want to repeat everyone else's C/C because I think they've covered everything. My advice? Check out some pixelling tutorials and anatomy sites. There is little to no shading there, odd anatomy and a rushed background.

Check out the tuts, they help. A lot. (really)

Sorry for the lecture - it's a reflex when I see people who refuse perfectly good help that took time to type out.
