Craiglowery
Any fans of the straight edge genre or hardcore in general? Well ive been straight edge for a year now and ive been listening to sXe hardcore ever since i was 13. Some of my favorite bands have always been minor threat, bane, turning point, and champion, and the thing that drew me to them was that they were always positive in the things they said and done and even though it may sound like bs their music really changed me into the person I am today. I was just wondering if there are any other ppl here that dig hardcore as much as me.

zaquierming
Yeah, Straight Edge Hardcore isn't a genre... It's just a hardcore band that is Straight Edge and tends to write their lyrics in such a way... But yes, I do listen to a few Straight Edge bands. Two roads diverged in a wood, and I-I took the one less traveled by,And that has made all the difference.
meb
I listen to the dance variation of hardcore, does that count? Retired 2146 overall - 136 combat - 6 skillcapes Plus I think the whole teenage girl thing will end soon (hopefully), because my girlfriend is absolutely in love with him(she is 18), and im beginning to feel threatened by his [Justin Bieber] dashing looks. Necrobean
Well the only hardcore I listen to is "American hardcore" which is just metal in a faster phase, not really a fan of normal hardcore, just listening to a bass isn't my style (altough it can be funny sometimes) ;>

guss
Drop anchor~ Both strait edge and Hard core. Ya from boston, got to meet them too, and hang out, they arnt to gether any more, DONT join a Strait edge club, they are messed up, but there is nothing rong with being straitedge. Strait edge started in the mid 1980s in Dc It was a song or a band, wiki it. Familys alcholhalics, become strait edge, straitedge gangs(vegan) can reck your reputation. Familys alcholhalics, become strait edge, straitedge gangs(vegan) can reck your reputation. Actually, you're wrong. To think that one single song or band started the entire Straight Edge movement is obscured. Hardcore branched off of punk, and back then the majority of the punk bands were heavy drinkers and drug addicts. When hardcore branched off of punk, a few bands decided that they didn't want to do drugs and drink and made it public that they didn't and after a long time this turned into Straight Edge. The song you're talking about is a song called Straight Edge by Minor Threat, and therefore hence the name. The Real ET
I've never understood what was so "hardcore" about hardcore music... and no, I've never liked the stuff. To me it's up with the few genres I don't like with pop, country, emo, and (most) rap. Cowards can't block Warriors.

meb
The only hardcore I listen to is happy hardcore (insert bass thumping here). You like that? I think it's funny to listen to once in a while, but I don't think of it as real music. It's, imo, just too ridiculous. High-pitched voices that sing about eternal love with 160bpm is just fair music to me. I would never go to a party whith happy hardcore dj's. Regular hardcore (the dance variation) is something else of course 8-) . Correct me if I'm wrong about happy hardcore though: Happy hardcore: Regular hardcore: http://youtube.com/watch?v=CcQ6mSPQnPA Oh and call me weird because I like the lower song, you won't be the only one :P . Gabber for life. I do listen to all sorts of techno and trance though, including gabber. Oh and I have photos of Neophyte, brisk, scott brown, infected mushroom, dj mc sharky and kevin energy if you want em :P Gotta love knowing the MC's and security guards hehe. Poopingman
Children of Bodom, Black Dahlia Murder... you can't really name hardcore without it being screamo. Are you drunk? Children of Bodom has nothing to do with either of those genres. Dahlia is more death metal than "core" any day. Screamo? AHHHH WTH Metal fans, check out my band!Still the King.... Those two bands represent completely different subgenres of metal, neither being hardcore or screamo. On topic, I love a bit of Comeback Kid and Bane now and then (I have CBK's Wake the Dead and Broadcasting...). My Last.Fm

Comeback Kid is simply amazing...saw them about a month ago in...freaking epic show! (not straight edge as this topic started out, but at least the topic is back to real hardcore). I like Bane quite a bit, but they've never really pulled me in like some other HC bands.
Infernosage4
I've been listening to The Devil Wears Prada lately. Their new album just came out not to long ago. Also, Sky Eats Airplane is pretty good but they're more electronica/hardcore. 269 QP | All Stats 60+ (except Summoning) | Barrows Drops: 8 | Dragon Drops:
