This friday i bought my first rare, green mask for 19.4m, i fastly sold for 19.7m and decided to merchant, my membership ran out after buying a mask for 19m, i think i would made a profit on f2p but i got in trouble. I count the noobs that came:

 

 

 

4 Empty box scammers

 

3 offers under 10m

 

1 easter egg offer

 

6 offers under 1m

 

9 offers under 100k

 

4 offers under 10k

 

and 5 annoying hours of selling.

 

 

 

Finally sold for 19.1 making 100k

What is an empty box scammer? they offer nothing?

Well its not exactly a 'rare' rare. I bought a 3rd age mage hat last week for 8.2m and sold it 30min later for 8.8. I thought great i'll do it again. Bad Idea. :x Bought another one. Tried to sell for 3 days. :-w I finally made 100k of the robin set the guy traded me. :thumbsup:

They offered empty box for mask saying it's 50m

It's a f2p item that is an empty box of fish food? It is worthless, but since people don't know what it is, they assume that it is rare. A similar thing used to occur with polished buttons.

Sure let me just trade you my rare for an empty box :|

 

 

 

Seriously i wonder how much of their lives these scammers, if you even give them enough credit to call them that, waste until they find out its not going to work.

p2p is alot better. all i can say.

well theres always searching the forums...even though your not a member you can still look for buyers.

There is a quest in f2p where you have to poison fish food. The scammers take the empty fish food box and pretend that it is a rare.

btw, they did a minigame for account security, why not make one for the rules? :wall:

It's a tricky business, but like the saying goes: "the higher the risk, the bigger the reward".

Rare items prices are going up, and then down. Just like sharks. I was selling 1,000 sharks, and NO one wanted them. Bots, and Autos are taking over RuneScape.

It would be easier to merch it in P2p, f2p isnt the easiest to merch in.

this is the one thing i will agree on with most f2p haters... there are tons of people in f2p who have no idea what the prices are on items... who just want to see items... and who want to try and get an item by scamming... I tried to buy a pumpkin once and spent 2 hours there wasteing my time... it was really frustraiting...

 

 

 

Also, with the trade screen modifications its amazing how many people STILL try and switch prices or items... :x

 

 

 

most of the time i browse p2p forums and pick out people add them and message... takes a bit of time but not as much as f2p selling... Most f2pers don't have enough cash for rares so its harder to get a sale

That's why I never merchant. If I need to buy or sell anything I get or sell it to my friends. If I can't find one who has/wants it then I read the forums. Join a big clan and merchant it to them, that's my suggestion. ;)

Don't trust anyone. :-$

What happens if no one sells rare items anymore!? We are then doomed. =O
