Watching your friends play

I thought it would be a good idea for people to have the ability to watch friends playing the game as a 1st or 3rd person view, you might get bored and just decide to see what your firend is doing.

This could be useful in different ways such as guiding each other through quests, or skills

Ok well

You have to be logged in to start

A few options

1. View friend as they see it on their screen

2. The ability to change views to see what their players eyes see, this would give a nice new view for people to enjoy, like in other games like Delta force, Call of duty etc etc.

3. You can also see the text that the player sees when talking to an NPC a quest - this is were you can help them and give advice on what to do next. You can type messages to them that come up on the screen in a different colour.

The other good thing about this is you would have longer to go take a pee or make a coffee say 5 mins instead of being logged out after 2 seconds.

It has kinks. For one, they could see the bank pin that's used like this. For seconds, pkers could easily track people. Also, you failed to specify how this would actually be started.. Like what kind of buttons you press to get to it, etc.

The person being viewed has the option of letting someone view or not and also when that person can view and can't

The player can also see who is viewing them at any time

Buttons etc shouldnt be a problem since it would be along the same lines as clan and normal chat

Wouldn't be very useful would it?

I mean, I can't think of all the lag this would cause on some computers. Your friends deserve their privacy too. You wouldn't like someone monitoring you while your playing would you?

If your really bored, open a new browser and browse the web, is it that hard?

Its bad when someone doesn't read the posts properly and replies very badly

It's even worse when someone makes no sense.

Who would want someone spying on them? Or, since you know who's watching you, observing them?

Haha! and if you catch your friend auto-alching?

Think about this scenario for a minute:

You decide to have a look at what your friend is doing

You log into his 'eyes' and see what he is doing in 3rd person view

You spot a girl next to your friend (a boy, apparently)

And you hear them whispering sweet nothings...

drapit.png

I'd imagine that if such a thing were implemented, you would have to request permission from the person you wish to view. Pressing the button (whatever it is) would send a request to your friend, which they can either accept or decline (similar to tele other).

My concern is that there are such limited uses for such a feature (that I can think of). The only use would be to explain to someone how you do something, but I don't see why you couldn't just be with each other in-game while you explain it (i.e. have your friend come along on the quest with you, explaining what to do).

Always buying something.

It wouldn't work..

Number 1 - The owner may forget and accidentally give you their bank PIN.

Number 2 - You might die from a random event while watching.

Number 3 - On the first day, Zezima would be flooded with players watching him.

1. It would be 3rd person and you wouldn't see their screen.

2. If you were watching I doubt randoms could get to you. It would be like a scrawling pool in a POH.

3. Again, people would have to accept a request so that wouldn't happen.

I like this idea and I think it would be a great way to show people fast training methods and ways to do general things more efficiently. Since we already have scrying pools all that's needed is more scrying locations that keep following the player somehow.

might be a good idea, like in your friend list their is some kind of camera symbol, you click it and friend gets message, he can accept or deny (like in chat programs basically)

but only 3rd person view, you cant even see urself in 1st person

the great advantage of this is that you can help friends doing a quest much easier

but maybe you should be on the same server to make it work, just to reduce lag

it would be an invasion of privacy.

How about making it say " Ye Oldslayer wishes to view you play, accept?" Then you click yes or no.

Wouldn't be very useful would it?

Three months banishment to 9gag is something i would never wish upon anybody, not even my worst enemy.

This is a seriously terrible idea. It's not even needed. Really. There's no reason for it.

No way.

I couldn't see this working as the lag would be big i thinks and it is an invasion of privacy, as everyone said.
