So, I was wondering, why do people choose to do the things they do in Runescape, I mean, theres SO much you can do, why do people choose the things they do

 

 

 

Money?

 

Skilling?

 

Entertainment?

 

Competition

 

or maybe because they enjoy doing those things in real life?

 

 

 

I remeber when i first started I didnt usually fight, instead I would mine and smith because in real life, I have a fascination with blacksmiths from around this time era, I mean, it was amazing what they knew and how they worked back then, its mind boggling. From there I decided to train cooking because I love cooking [although I cant really make much more than mac and cheese and speghetti :lol: ] But at least in runescape I could be good at cooking. \

 

 

 

But I was just thinking about this today, do people fish because they enjoy fishing in real life? or just for money? Smith because they like the idea that they can make armour and wepons with their hands, or just for money?

 

 

 

So, tell me, why do YOU do the things you do in game?

Well, same as many people, competition :)

I mostly train slayer/regular combat, Herblore and Farming.

 

 

 

I do it mostly to achieve goals I set for myself, and to have fun, since I enjoy all of those things. Sometimes also for cash, and also for competition obviously :wink:

I would have to say competition and the fact the people have this unique thing known as choice, seems like a silly question to be honest.

For fun, I like seeing a new thing to do when I can.

So I guess it's skills, I like seeing them grow, I like knowing I can kill more monsters when I slay, or id'ing new herbs when I gain a level.

 

 

 

Plus entertainment, because after all thats what a game is there for

On Topic: Now that I think about it, apart from the reasons I stated, I'd say competition between RS rivals is probably my strongest motivation :P

I like to fight monsters cause that's what I like to do irl.

I like doing things for a goal. I always set goals. Oh, and money, I love the money.

I like to kill monsters for slayer a lot and just train on other skills that don't require much input. :P

Because I am:

 

1) richer, stronger than the average player

 

2) in such a position that I can help people without worrying about my own bank account

 

3) able to discover efficient ways to do things in the game (feels like making a scientific discovery)

Just have some fun, and get some thing I want/desire

The main reason I started playing Runescape was to kill some down-time.

 

Now I just play it for fun, whenever my mates are on, I log in and we go do something together...Just running around in pointless circles. :mrgreen:
