Anti-Macro

Recommended Posts

Now I know in Runescape there are a lot of macro's. Especially at places such as: yews, magics, fishing guild, rune stores. The list just goes on.

My idea for dealing with this problem is to place some aggresive monsters which are about level 10 to attack the macroers so they move away from the area, thus giving normal players our yews and magic treees back.

Then they'd just make a random character design when they make the macro. It wouldn't cost them much time.

lets teach the skillers to get up there cb then.

Yeah, I have to agree... At least let the real skillers train their combat up to 15 or something. Then they can skill their little hearts out.

Why should they be obligated to train their combat. This is an idiotic suggestion then autos would spend about 15 minutes getting a combat lvl. :?

Skillers schmillers, TBH. I am unsympathetic towards people who cling to their lvl-3 combat like a ridiculous badge of honor. The fact is that the Draynor willows are the only ones (in F2P anyway) that are cut primarily by humans. Thanks, dark mages!

I say put a lesser next to every yew. I'm exaggerating of course, but those people who actually play RuneScape would rather kill a few aggressive monsters until they stop attacking than compete with the dozen bots who currently encircle every willow and yew in the game.

On the other hand, if you force the botters to get to lvl-126 in order to survive, that's what they'll do. And since they would simply automate that process as well, we would have to compete with them at the combat training spots, too. These people are making real money by letting their computers run unattended; they have nothing to lose. It's a problem with no easy solution.

I am F2P-only and therefore all my statements will reflect that and should be read accordingly.

  • 2 weeks later...

i think this is a good idea. It may not work for future autoers, but I think that it would wipe out the current autoers. Also, it wouldn't hurt skillers to lvl up a little, such as to 15. If they can spend hours of mining ore, going to the bank, mining ore, going to the bank and woocutting, burning the logs, woodcutting, burning the logs, then they can spend an hour or 2 fighting goblins so their combat is 15.
