God Sword tradable?

sithlord_man

Recommended Posts

I was thinking why should the god sword be tradeable...I mean theres so much greed in rs people would do anything to get there hands on one of those. I say people who can get it deserve it, Why sell it and be greed like everyone else? The Drop you got is something you earned, not some guy who buys it for 150 million and then sell it for 200m...

Whats your point on this Tradeable or not?

Well someone that works hard to get their skills to 99 can hugely profit on this by selling the goods they get. If you happen to get an extra sword you can give it to a really close friend or sell it for $$$. If it wasn't tradable, people wouldn't really have a reason to go back.

But since it is tradable, there will always be a good amount of people at god wars using their skills to profit. It is like with any other skill, anyone that gets it to lvl 99 would want to reap their rewards.

Yes, i think it is a little unfair that someone with deep pockets could get the sword in comparison to someone that spent a few hours trying to get the sword. But with the amount of money they can get for the sword, I think it is well worth the price for the people that worked to get it.

And you can expect it will become easier to get it once jagex makes a themed world for god wars so there will always be an enormous amount of people there.

Why would there be a themed world? Is there a themed kq/dk/kbd/chaos ele world? no. While you do need a couple people, any more than 5 just decreases your chance of getting the drop.

such a thing is like infinity robes. during the first week everyone was wondering if they should be tradeable since they're hard to get.

if it was up to me, anything involving a certain amount of effort should be non-tradeable, so it can separate the skilled from the wealthy. most people would respect someone who killed bandos enough times to get the sword over someone who had hundreds of millions to spend on it.

items like the legends cape and naval equipment aren't tradeable, why should the godsword be?

Well, I guess Jagex simply apply the thinking that any weapon should really be tradeable. After all, by this logic, no armour that can be gained only as a drop (which includes ALL boots, just for the record, along with ALL dragon armour and some weapons!!) should be untradeable. How much would the economy crash if you could no longer trade third age, barrows, dragon, or obsidian? The Godsword may be a powerful weapon, but that doesn't necessarily set it apart from other weapons.

It's pretty simple I think. You NEED a team to be able to kill the bosses (except for the zammy one, but it isn't really profitable to killit solo). Really, no one below your level would go and team with you if the drops were untradeble. And thus, if you get a shard, only 1 player of the team will benefit from it, that would just be unfair.

And 2nd, if it was untradelbe people who have gotten the sword already would not return to the gwd anymore. Such a big update isn't meant to be left behind just because you got a sword already.

Would be nice to make it untradeable but as someone mentioned, as you need on most bosses to go as a team then only one person could benefit from the drop rather than the whole team. On solo'able bosses they should be untradeable, but very hard to solo.

it currently is like that. people have written guides on soloing bandos, etc.

However, not all bosses are solo'able (sara in particular) and JaGex wanted the GWD to be for teams. When i mean solo bosses I mean where teams are just not the best way to kill a monster or even possible (solo combat ;))

Are you stupid? in almost all cases you need a team to kill it, so 4-6 people should get nothing and one person gets everything?.

I dont think anything should be untradable, all untradable items do is ruin the wilderness.

ruins the wilderness? it can't get any more ruined, with player priority.

for certain team monsters, someone does get more than others, when things like clue scrolls are dropped.

perhaps it should be different if it's to be made non-tradeable, or the finished product. maybe a system where it's already non-tradeable, but every member of the team gets a different shard...

If it was made non tradable thats just one less thing you can pk, making it not even worth the sharks and pots used to get a pk.

People could go out with, fire cape, str ammy, fighter torso and god sword, and attack people, if they get a lucky ko they get everything the other player was wearing, if they die they lose nothing, tele edge run back out and pick it up.

All lamentations about "ruining" this and that aside, let me ask you a question in a direct answer to your question:

If I had to bust my tail to get an incredibly rare sword (hilt not included), then bust my tail even harder to kill the bosses for a chance at the hilt, why should I not have the right to trade the sword and/or hilt in to offset my expenditures?

I don't think anyone would like it if you had to get every hard to get drop yourself. I for one, have never gotten a dragon drop. (Besides Barrows.) And I would hate it, if I couldn't use a dragon axe for Woodcutting, because I can't DK. Its just not right. Anything that you get from a mini game besides Barrows, Impetus Impulses and Mort'ton temple building are un tradeble. But to make every hard to get item untradeble? That is just NONSENSE.

...which is why that post was meant to be for items that require a lot more effort than the usual 'kill a monster 30 million times' drop. it's my opinion they should have made the GWD have a better way of getting the sword, by actually finishing a dungeon similar to the current one mixed with the barrows (you kill the boss and loot the chest)

as it is now, there's really no choice but to keep it tradeable, but if the dungeon was made differently...

Yea, but the thing is. What if you're like me, and do it over and over for months, but NEVER get any piece of it? I think you should still be able to use the GS even if you have horrible luck. Or maybe, its tradeable, but you can't wield it until you beat GWD. Like maybe a mini quest?

Regarding the Infinity Robes, they don't require skill, they require 55+ magic and a lot of patience, and since all methods of money making require patience, they should be tradfeable. But the godsword specifically, I would think it would be better if it were non-tradeable, as it doesnt actually require skill.

that was my idea of it, as it is, people who probably don't even deserve to use it can easily buy one, and the ones that do deserve it can hardly get it because they're in teams.

Also one thing is i'm saying the shards and hilt is tradable jsut not the sword

He wasn't talking about the skill he was saying that it takes the people who will actually go in and take their time to get such wonderful items.

do not make god sword tradeable. You have to work for it.

- Rich people would horde them

- more ways for bots to make money

- more real world trading would occur

- if you want one really bad you can always work for it, no harm in that

If someone has that amount of cash, they deserve the godsword. They worked hard their OWN method to get that cash, it's not like they were lazy.

Also, monster hunters like myself want the ability to sell the godsword and it's parts. It gives us an actual reward.

Finally, pkers would get no loot from killing someone which is just stupid.

If all you're doing is trying to stop greed you're wasting your time. It would be like trying to stop the world from funtioning the way it does. The way I see it everyone is either greedy or in denial.
