I can't do anything darker or brigher than 75%

Any darker and it's a cave, any brighter and the screen looks like it's been whitewashed.

Along the coast road, by the headland

The early lights of winter glow.

Ill pour a cup to you my darling.

Raise it up --- say cheerio.

yes, it does have to do with what type of monitor you got, but still that doesnt matter to me cause you get used to 100% after a while and then everything other one looks second rate.

i have one of those old monitors that have bout 1-inch think glass, they are better than the LCDs cause you dont see certain things in layers in my opinion and i have mine on 100%. like i said before, its what your used to...

i dont care if im rambling and repeated half of what i said in the first paragraph and said it in the second :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall: :wall:

Forget all of those nuts who go with the crowd! go with your gut instinct, unless your gonna die, thats why i wrote this, cause i went with my gut

I used to play on 75%, but now I use 100%.

I also bought an old 2nd hand CRT screen for ̢̮â¬Å¡Ãâã4, and even with loads of colour boosting the obsidian cape almost looks like a solid block of black.

Thank Saradomin I don't have to use that as my primary monitor...

Second lowest, makes every thing look richer, better textured, i hate 100% too bright and removes from the small ammount of atmosphere the game has.

I play at 100% because otherwise I can't see the difference between a lot of things that differ only in colour (metals, herbs) quickly enough (not anymore, I used to be used to 75%)

And btw, runescape is not textured (ok the sprites are), it is colour-shaded. Which is why the low-poly models look even more horrible than they would as just low-poly-textured-models *points at terrain*

I used to play at 75% before I became member, but all those member dungeons made me try 100%, and I stuck with it because.. well why actually..?

Interesting how most ppl play at bright settings, perhaps JaGEx should make a 125% notch? (oh and while they're at it, make the minimap load at your brightness setting immediately, instead of loading it in 75% and changing it to your setting the first time it changes)

I've always used the "second notch". Yes, it is a tad dark for the darkest dungeons, but then I just temporarily use a brighter option.

The reason for this is that way back in 2001-2002 this was called the "normal" setting (or default, same idea). So I thought that I wanted to see things they were meant to be, normal. Now we have gotten 1 or 2 more brightness options, but if you didn't switch it, it stayed at the 2nd notch.

25% ownz you all :)

2nd setting is awesome

How can you guys stand full brightness? If you go past the 2nd brightness level (normal), the only change that occurs is the color gets drained out! Looks terrible! The "normal" setting (2nd notch) is definitely the best.

What they said :P

On any monitor I go on, I can't stand full brightness, It just drives me nuts.

Is this a joke? You guys are really running out of ideas >_>

Actually, there are dozens of things that we could change based just on how bright the screen is.

Image standardization-maps, images, mosnters. All sorts of things you can think of ;)

I don't understand

You mean you'd change the brightness of the dungeon maps or monster pics for different brightness settings?

No, that would put too many useless buttons/options for users and a complete do-over of all our work. What it could do though, is determine what we use from now on.

50% of course, I can't believe someone would play on the brighest, everything just looks all bright :uhh:

And to the person saying that Rune looks like Iron on 50%, no it doesn't, because when Rune becomes darker Iron becomes darker too, they never look the same

[insert birds flying in a circle here]

Yes, that sig was annoying.

I play on the brightest setting, and I wish it could get even a bit brighter.

I'm wondering how you "don't know" you can check very easily.

I choose 100%, I see an overwhelming majority did. :D
