qeltar
* Can't buy multiple stacks of high-end herbs for a constant price anymore. Buying unclean herbs will be essentially the same as buying clean ones. * A lot of people just leave herbs on the ground while training, and I would sometimes pick them up and ID them as a ranarr. No more of that, since the trainer will immediately know that the herb that was just dropped is worth picking up. These are what are going to be the biggest impacts for high level herblorists. I always appreciate anti-scam updates, but this is going to be very bad even for honest players. DarkDude
Unclean herbs are the equivilent to uncut gems. Most things you say that are bad about unclean herbs also apply to uncut gems, so unless you want those changed too...
Peronix
Unclean herbs are the equivilent to uncut gems. Most things you say that are bad about unclean herbs also apply to uncut gems, so unless you want those changed too... The concept of uncut gems is actually very realistic. What are the chances that you are going to find a diamond perfect for a piece of jewelery in nature? Nearly non-existent, because the shapes and sizes of diamonds in nature varies as wildly as any old rock. But the whole concept of cleaning grimy herbs seems a bit silly to me. While we're cleaning things now, let's add an extra option to the cooking of fish: "Gut Raw Shark". Besides, you need a chisel to cut gems, and now with the cut x gem thing, that is more comparable to fletching.
malo2
I always pay 1k ea for my unids (where did you get 5k ea from?) and i often end up with profit, now that opportunity is gone. Lastfm
Silver_Corner
I always pay 1k ea for my unids (where did you get 5k ea from?) and i often end up with profit, now that opportunity is gone. The 5ke is an example of what Kwarm and ranarr prices might be like after the update, as prices will drop on Herbs. Not unids. Also, I posted my idea on RSOF. Soulthresher
Just another one of Jagex's attempts to baby the game. It is very easy to avoid being scammed buying unids, so this is a pointless update.
warren211
Maybe now it would be a good idea to buy high lvl herbs to merch later on... [hide=]tip it would pay me $500.00 to keep my clothes ON :( :lol:But then again, you fail to realize that 101% of the people in this universe hate you. Yes, humankind's hatred against you goes beyond mathematical possibilities. That tears it. I'm starting an animal rebellion using my mind powers. bop_dravian
I am still looking forward to this update. It actually gets better the more I think about it. First of all, I don't care about the crybaby whiny children who can no longer sell unid guam leaves for 1k. Too flipping bad, find an honest way to make a living. Second, cleaning will be no different that ID'ing herbs is now. Personally, I will still pick up grimey/dirty guams and clean them for my 2.5 exp before dropping them. Thus, no change in time, clicks, or exp anyway. Finally, it gives me the ability to make an informed choice. As a mid-level herblorist (54), I need to decide whether to keep my high level herbs for later or sell them now. Now, I can make a real decision as to whether it was worth my time in collecting to sell the torstol that I won't be able to use for months, or if I should just keep them to use later. AND I will get a fair price for them. Any update that stops people from taking advantage of others is a great update. And any loophole that allows people to take advantage of others ruins the game and caters to children. Bring on the transparency!!

We're not complaining about ripping people off for low leveled unids. I NEVER do that. I'm usually the one BEING ripped off. That said, I am the one making the HONEST profit from Herblore. I buy my unids at a bank for 1,000 Gp each, id them, buy the secondary ingredients and water-filled vials, make the potions, and then sell the potions. This, MOST of the time, doesn't give me any profit at all unless I'm making prayer or super restore potions. I simply used this as a way of training a skill that used to be enjoyable for me. Now that this update is about to come, and training herblore is going to be either ridiculously expensive and/or slow to train (with make x and if you have to gather your own herbs) I doubt I will be doing it anymore. And by the way...you think you deserve a better price for herbs you're too low to indentify? If we're going on the logic in which you say you believe in (fairness), then Herblorists SHOULD be able to buy unids/unclean herbs, identify them, and sell them for slightly higher, because guess what...we worked for them, and you did NOT. |2,300+ Total|138 Combat|12 Lvl 99 Skills|99 Slayer|
Made0f12une
Jagex won't just delete unids and throw the xp into potion making as that is unrealistic step to take AND herbs are used in multiple potions so there is no way to transfer the id xp across properly. Actually this would be a logical idea, and I would prefer it better. You could in theroy change the xp across properly. All you would have to do is add the xp you would get for I'ding the herbs used in that potion, to the potions XP. Or perhaps, add the ID/Cleaning xp when you put the herb in water, and then the remaining xp when you add the 2nd ingrediant. *Not to mention, this would clear up ROWS of BANKSPACE* And also, what most people dont realize is, yes, Prices of "Unids" or uncleaned herbs will be adjusted, but they also dont realize that Herbs such as Ranarr and other popular ones will go DOWN in price. Why? People who cant even identify them, know what they are, which leads to more people picking them up, and not leaving unkown herbs on the ground. More people picking them up puts more in circulation, and therefore will drop prices. Yes, you cant get them for 1ke in unid form, but a declining price means you can get them for, maybe 6k or less a pop. Im not sure how much they will decline, so I cant give an exact approximation, but its the general idea. If this is true (about the clean herbs) Then herbalist should be happy. They can now make a hefty profit off of making the potions. ^^ClicK^^"I backed my car into a cop car the other dayWell he just drove off sometimes life's ok...Alright already we'll all float onAlright don't worry we'll all float on" - Isaac BrockDays Hunting:4 - Kingly Imps Caught:2Money Earned: 4.5-5m
kallenkootx
personally i think this update stinks. seeing heerbs rising or decreasing like mad (wich i mostly think wich wil happen, in my experience people are too hungry for money, in toher words, keep rasing prices til its ridiculous or more than that) and also i think the outcome of the update will be an disadvantage to farming and selling potions. its a nice idea to clear out a scam, but i think the advantage is not big enough compared to the disadvantage. dont flame me, but i think jagex should consider the pros and cons more.
