September 11, 200718 yr as far as i care the gold farmers can go get an axe irl and go kill bill gates for "phat lewt". they shouldn't be pitied, theres different jobs they can do that will still suck but at least it'd be an actual job.
September 11, 200718 yr This is a quote from anoter forum user who posted this a day or so ago on another thread. It was obtained in a way that violates the Terms of Service. Jagex gives you permission to use all the items/play the game, but only if you don't violate the TOS. Therefore, since these people are violating said TOS they violate their contract with Jagex allowing them to play the game, and thus are playing without permission so they are using Jagex's stuff illegaly thus they are stealing/using Jagex's property Which is against the law...
September 11, 200718 yr Wo ye ke yi jiang yi diang hang yu ping ying, but I'm really not that good. I've never actually encountered a gold farmer who I can talk too. I actually feel like of bad for them after reading that little thing. At the end, he asked why hydraweapon was playing this game, heehee. I think I'll try my luck talking to some of them now :)
September 11, 200718 yr I'd like to point of that our grandparents had it just as hard 70-100 years ago in our respective countries, i don't see the chinese having a sympathy parade for them. Our nations developed faster so we are stuck with this 'guilt' because our countries were stronger (unified coherent governments ftw). Yes i feel sympathy for people who live hard lives under crappy regimes but its not our fault this is the case and honestly i don't think China would piss on any of our respective countries if they were on fire.
September 12, 200718 yr You guys have to realize that many chinese earn barely enough yuan to live by. Wo ye hui yi dian han yu pin yin. Taxi drivers in China only earn about 3,000 yuan a month, in bigger cities. Compared with the income of a peasant, that's considered pretty good. Many people there don't even have houses, or built them out of their own hands, i.e. brick houses, tiny, one room. The living conditions there are horrible, and apartments prices are skyrocketing. For example, to live in a major city, one square METER costs more than 5,000 yuan in some cases, and as much as 10,000 yuan in more upscale neighborhoods. Imagine trying to buy a house in the city in order to work efficiently in the city: nightmare. And actually the exchange rate for the yuan/dollar went down, because of the weakening dollar. the yuan is about 7.5 per dollar. Currently P2P. I don't want the world to see me, 'cause I don't think that they'd understand. Formerly known as: Ghstkill8, Serene Ghst, Genius Goats

September 12, 200718 yr Nice chinese. To bad he plays the dark side of supply collecting. ?Nice topic, been waiting for this. 2181st to 99 Runecrafting on 7/28/2009
September 12, 200718 yr only getting 23 dollars a month. if oyu ithnk about it thats really sad that he has to work a month of 12 hour shifts probably for 23 dollars. thats 360 hours a weekk and they get paied roughly 15 cents an hour. i feel really bad for them. in the end ill i can say is well, wow.
September 12, 200718 yr Well maybe I was a bit over the top but then again, it is quite possible that I am not. I was mainly talking about the fact that they get $25 a month which really can't give them much of a life style. I should of made that more clear :^o (From an American perspective) I've said this many times before, and I'll say it again. What is $25? In America, $25 is minimum wage for 5 hours. You can buy half a tank of gas with it. However, you have no idea of the purchasing power $25 can have over there. $25 might be a comfortable wage to support a family. Until you have lived in the country or have a better idea of what $25 is in their country, you aren't informed enough to pass judgment of whether or not that is a "good" wage. Your very right. I lived until 2 years ago in Romania. There, stuff was cheaper, but not necessarily good quality. In China, stuff might be cheaper, I'm almost sure of it. Look at africa: building a school for example barely costs 1000 $ or more (not sure, don't flame me), here, our school just got a 1000000$ ventilation system.
September 12, 200718 yr In China is about $40 a month, i can understand perfectly because i used to live in China. : Runescape money is not the only game they sell for real life money, other games like WoW and Multiple players chinese games. (i've seen it before)
September 12, 200718 yr Ah... Chinese gold farmers. I try to talk to them as well, but they never reply to me. I guess the boss is watching? Then again, my Ping-Ying is bad. We don't use that stupid system in Taiwan. Why do you resist? My experiments are only helping humanity push the boundaries of the Art of Toxicology... you should be proud to be one of my victims. ~Toxicologist~
September 12, 200718 yr Hmm... that's interesting. Next time I find a gold farmer I'm going to open a translator and start talking to them. offtopic: do you speak fluent chinese? thats pretty cool! Nah he does not type correctly.. its wo (me).. not wu =p OT: Still.. i feel that they shouldnt be ruining our game.. there is so many opportunities out there Hey Nicrune007 , Whats Your Username? 99 Ranged on 2/6/07 99 Hit Points on 9/5/08 99 Defense on 26/4/08 99 Attack on 14/2/09 99 Strength on 25/2/09 99 Slayer on 13/9/09\:D/
September 12, 200718 yr so bias its not even funny. when your giving a 1 sided argument at least give space so that it isn't so extreme. Its like me saying "all" Americans are gay. Duh, of course not everyone of them are gay. Dwarfie apparently u were having a tantrum when your writing this...several things to point out. I am sure not all americans are buying the gold Silver platter and the society that teaches that? u'll been watching way too much movies man. I am sure ur mentioning the lil rich kids who are like 10 asking their millionaire parents to buy them stuff... but in other cases, there are still amount of poor ppl that can barely provide the internet access to play the game let alone buy gold. WDF is with the double cheese and bacon. Cuz i am not sure "again" that everyone likes cheese and bacon! Okay i am pretty sure u just skipped all that so lets make it simple. Get your facts straight. While we're on the subject of fact checking and the like... perhaps you could point out where I said anything at all about "all" Americans buying gold. Really dude.... think... then post.
September 12, 200718 yr wow afew certain users keep repeating the same thing over and over so i will too. its probably not against chinese law to sell gp, or any law tbh (rs rules arent country laws), but i dont care anyway because i dont buy rs gpand sure as hell would never goldfarm, and as i siad before its the americans who buy it who cause the problems (i reckon 95% of bought gp goes to america, maybe 5% or less to other countries), not the gold farmers. everythings alot cheaper in china, if someone who saved up for months in china came to uk/us etc then that would buy probably ONE thing, everythings alot cheaper so you cant compare wages there to wages in other countries. (and is also why, if you look on the bottom of the mouse on your computer or back of tv remote etc, itll probably say made in china because companies get chinese people to do the repetative tasks like that because its cheaper) on some vid i saw someone who owned a gold farming place actually said they thought of it because of some things being lots cheaper in china (meals i think they got it off) and that although they cant export meals etc, they can export online items. if people really cared about gold farmers "ruining the game" they would boycott their sales (both out of game and in the game), but people with a handfull of cash their mum gave them who want the easy way out and spend it on rs cash, make them actually get money  i dont support the goldfarming, i just think that the people who buy it are more to blame than the people who actually do it.
September 12, 200718 yr You're right on the money there m4tty. Blaming the gold farmers for the problem is like blaming hookers for prostitution. Neither would be doing it if it wasn't for the people paying for their services.
September 12, 200718 yr i'd love to find out where you people keep getting these stats about americans buying most of the rs gold, because im guessing you just hate america so you automatically assume everything we do is wrong.....which is typical so im not blaming you

Neither would be doing it if it wasn't for the people paying for their services. While i actually agree with you, that argument has no foundations, without prostitutes there would be not prostitution, just because their is demand doesn't mean that these men and women HAVE to open their legs/bend over. Where theres a market there will be a product yes, but sometimes the product drives/creates demand and not the other way round.

September 12, 200718 yr 1st)people who are desperate for sex=ALL HUMANS EVER (except for those who are asexual-there are people like this) 2nd) What i was saying is yes people want to have sex or have more items in a game, but they would have no recourse if there wasn't a company/individual willing to meet their demands in exchange for cash. Its a two headed thing, theres demand so there is a product, there is a product so there is demand. I am saying(trying to :) ) that sometimes in certain circumstances if the product wasn't introduced the demand wouldn't exist/would cease to exist. edit:case in point: THE Ipod, before the ipod there were MP3 players, in fact there were mp3 players that were FAR superior to the Ipod, with better batteries, capacity, audio output etc.. but Apple played their hand well and spent BILLIONS marketing the damn thing so everyone (we are all sheeple) thought wow, wth is this new fangled technological marvel? we must buy for extortionate money, and the sales for ALL MP3 players shot up. This is a case of a product creating demand rather than demand creating the product.
September 12, 200718 yr I blame the selfish people that buy the gold and items from the websites that sell the stuff that keep this kind of thing going. Whatever happened to working hard in a game for better or more stuff? People are lazy these days. --8727th person to achieve 99 Fishing on 8/19/2008----6012th person to achieve 99 Thieving on 10/12/2008--R.I.P. October 31, 2013 99 Fletching 7/16/2015

Not just because they hold a ton of songs, or because they have a 160gb hard drive. They should be called mmsdmp3 players. (multimedia storage device mp3 players.)

Were the original Ipod's multimedia devices? Anyway thats not really the point. The point was that Ipod's drove demand for players that could read the MP3 format, there was no demand for them before the Ipod.
