There have been a lot of posts like that lately. Personally, I'm tired of one line jokes that make no sense or just aren't funny. I'd rather read a decent length post, that basically goes nowhere, so I at least have something to respond to..

 

 

 

I really was thinking, because, not all "EMOs" cut them selves, like drama queens(not sure about that Lohan movie, or what ever) but am i relly doing 1 liners(I confess i think slower then my hands type, i just want to get the words i think onto the paper).

Transitive property sucks in real life. Mathematics deals with perfect data and precise numerical values. The world does not. Deal with it. Yes I said it. If you're going to start a post off with "kids" and follow it with such an annoying statement as if to create a counterpoint, make sure your sense of correctness and condescending tone actually comes with a correct statement, please.

 

 

 

Your statement is incorrect because the mathematical proof is imperfect. For it to be correct, not only would label's have to be the very definition of "bad", but "emo" would have to be the very definition of "label", as it clearly is not. Emo has basic meanings beyond being a label, and thus the mathetmatic proof utilizing transitive law does not work as they are not perfect equalities.

 

 

 

Errdoth does make a good point that labeling people [with stereotypes] is bad, but there is no reason to carry it into the world of mathematics unnecessarily as if to sound intelligient by doing so.

I like the part of the emo kid song were it says 'you would be non-conformist to, if you dressed just like me'. I think being emo means 'being diffrent'. But alot of people consider themselves emo. They really think there 'diffrent' but they really are not.

I find emo girls rather attractive, not sure if anybody else has this but certain ones just seem to clic in my head, and most of the time i'll get on with them too, just never really want to ask them out incase they kill themselves after I get closer.

I dated a girl that I guess would be considered emo. She seemed depressed quite a bit, but I don't know how much of it was just for show or to get more attention from me.. But she was a cutter and that's not attractive in a girl.. Needless to say she's now another ex-gf (but the cutting isn't the only reason I broke up with her). But I do have to agree, some emo girls are really attractive. ;)

Ok, sorry for that. Anyway next time I see the girl I like, i'm going to ask her out. I decided it's worth it, I like her, she likes me, and I think it could work. I'm sure she doesn't cut herself, but some of her friends do. I know that she'll one day pull away from those kind of people, or atleast the peoples attitudes will change, and she'll act like she does just me and her, which is when I like her.

 

 

 

Oh well, wish me luck getting an 'Emo' girlfriend, i'm just hoping it's for the best.

How did this topic get from a discussion on the definition of the term 'Emo" to a guide on how attractive Emo chicks are and how you can get one to date you. :roll: -.-

 

 

 

Anyway, Emos piss me off. They're little Suburban kids who whine and moan because they want attention. Basically, it goes like this-

 

 

 

1.A nice little Preppy kid(Let's call him 'Blake') lives out his comfortable life in a '50's' style setting of the perfect American family, knowing no real pain or sorrow.

 

2. Blake turns 13.

 

3. Blake's parents get a divorce and the safe, secure 'model American family' Blake grew up with is now in ruins. Blake doesn't know how to deal with the emotional stress, and thus is depressed.

 

4. The pressure on Blake is overwhelming, and thus he gets C's instead of his usual A's on his report card. Blake's father is pissed at him for this, and Blake can't seem to handle his own problems.

 

5. Blake wallows in his own self-pity and sorrow, oblivious to the world around him.

 

6. Blake finds a pack of kids whom he can relate too. Eager to find someone who understands his issues, he 'joins' this pack.

 

7. As a brand new member of this 'pack', Blake is eager to please.

 

8. Blake conforms to the standards of this group (i.e dresses in black, listens to Emo music, slits his wrist over everything tiny thing, ect.)

 

9. Blake's parents don't even notice the difference in 'old' Blake and 'new' Blake. Blake slits his wrists out of frustration.

 

10. Blake is now officially a Emo.

Preppy kids are generally wealthy, wear designer clothes, have tons of friends, are generally athletic, and are generally upbeat and out going no matter how terrible things are. Maybe a skater or just a kid who doesn't fit in anywhere turns emo, fine. But preppy kids just don't go emo. No matter how bad things are at home they're popular and their social life is too amazing to go hide in a corner. Too many people would bother them..

Well the problem is one which has been put in the beginning of this thread, but still hasn't been answered properly yet: "What exactly is an emo?" Do you have to be depressed to be an emo? Do you have to wear tight jeans? Do you have to think in a specific way? Or is it more superficial and is it about the way you look? Or maybe is it just your group of friends? And what about the people who just dress that way to fit in?

 

Personally, I don't know the answer. The word Emo is "in" at my school at the moment, but I have yet to find anyone who can explain to me what a real emo is. Most of them just say 'they cut their wrists', or something like that. Seems a rubbish definition to me, it'd probably leave loads of emo's out.

I know they drink and do drugs. Hell, that's a HUGE problem at my school.. That doesn't make them emo. And no, I don't watch those shows. They're annoying and I get sick of seeing girls crying all the time. I had enough drama this summer to last me a lifetime.
