Thats what I do cause I'm usually spammed with different messages (Rush and Lenin got my reply to them :D, and rush was confused :D)

 

I remember that. I was blowing up the scarab on The Ark when he messaged me about your message. I had to stop every minute or so to explain it :P Not a bad thing to have it be necessary to have it explained, since that means you've been spared the spammy screenshots. I actually saw one guy who had that shot on his file share :wall:

First off start my making a message, choose anyone to send it to, then go to EDIT RECIPIENTS. There, you can check off the people you want to send to. When your done, press B and make your message. Send. (But, you already knew to send it, right?)

that strategy might work for you lenin, but its pretty bad for the player you avoided. becoming an avoided player lowers your rep and makes bungie less likely to reward you or choose you for any sort of contest in the future. seems pretty unfair for a player who was just playing the game well.

 

Skill reports (marking them as too good or too bad) have no effect on rep. I learned this when I avoided the guy that kept driving into the wall. And I'm not using it, it's just something I thought up in the shower today :lol:

 

 

 

But if the aim is to get better.. then it is beneficial to play people who dominate you

 

 

 

In fact, I'm gonna say, the best thing you can possibly do is play with people who are much much much better than you. Go to Mlgpro.com, go to the forums and try to get into custom games with people, they're generally pretty good. Play the MLG playlist, I mean, it focuses more on skill. No power drains/regens, no radar, and it's br starts. It's a playlist where you actually need to think + aim + communicate to win.

 

 

 

The most important part of the game is communication + teamshotting. A decent BR helps though, I mean, learn the hitboxes, and on XBL you have to LEAD YOUR SHOTS. I always used to dismiss this, then I noticed that I kept getting out BRed by people who I knew I could dominate, so if you just lead the shots by a small amount if theyre moving, you'll notice a big difference. Plus, you can learn spawns - especially on Onslaught + Amplified, where you can easily setup spawn kills. Plus there are just general little things you can do to make your game better, quickscoping, learning the hitboxes for effective plasma grenade sticking, developing a solid BR coupled with an unpredictable strafe, effective jumps like g1-g2 on guardian, middle of s1-s2 on guardian, platform-open ramp on cstruct etc etc etc..

Thetruenoob is right. All of my friends in my area (mostly all colonel or higher, 3 brigs, 1 general, few commanders, and a couple captains.) always play custom matches together. I always used to play with them on all kinds of different game types and got brutally raped. After playing for a couple months I got MUCH better and now I can keep up with them. I tried doing Lone Wolves and came in first almost every time. I went from 10-20 something in one day and today got to 30. I fully expect to get to commander tonight or tomorrow. So yeah....play with skilled people better then you. :geek:

I am totally confused. I seriously see no point in this at all, and apparantly if I want to increase my rank overall I'll have to only play 1 playlist. Or that's how I read it. Well, no point in playing a variety anymore. Guess I'll go back to soley LW.

I've been away this week, just got back last night. Haven't been able to play Halo yet. But what else is in Team Melee? Hammers? Regular weapons without any ammo?

I'm pretty sure the only other weapons in Team Melee are hammers. I've played with Hammers and Swords. There are some pretty fun games made out of them. I think it's perfect for you, so go check it out.

Eh, I usually don't have my mic in unless I'm doing team matches or something, and even then not too often. Sometimes I'm not even sure where it is. Easier just to "type".

you can rent guitar hero? i remember when blockbuster used to rent out xbox/playstation 2 but stopped because too many people stole them or damaged them. i thought the same applied to games like guitar hero and rockband.

I'm pretty sure it's the disk that's only rentable. I only rented the disk. Although, they might rent out the guitar controllers.
