TheGreatShmook
Prayer[/b] Here's a though. Prayer = Praying. Most of the skills in RuneScape aren't COMPLETELY fictitious when you train them. Smithing, Cooking, Thieving, for example. You gain smithing levels by smithing. You gain Cooking levels by Cooking. Thieving levels by Thieving. Fishing level by Fishing. Hunter level by Hunting. Prayer levels by Burying Bones. Construction levels by Constru- Wtf? Seriously, though. Shouldn't we gain prayer levels by, gee, I dunno. Praying? Just a thought. Not really THAT important, but I was just thinking. Why do we train prayer by burying bones? And before some of you say "OMG THAT'D BE JUST CLICKIN!!!" Well, clicking describes. Hmm, about 100% of training skills in RS. I'm thinking there should be a "Pray" option by Altars, and you actually gain Prayer levels by PRAYING, instead of acting like Canines. .::Congratulations!::.I just advanced a spamming level! Now I need to find a decent Signature.
guthix121
yes but then, people would just be clicking away until their prayer lvls are 99. Maybe instead, when you bury bones-you earn prayer points, and when you have enough prayer points-you get access to a certain alter-to which you can pray a certain amount of times. But this would just make prayer training even harder (as if its not hard enough already). I don't support... Own a forum? Advertise it for Free!!! Imcleith
You also train streght strengthing, hitpoints hitpointainting, agility agilitating, defense defending ... wait you don't. I think you just want to make prayer free to train.

I think you just want to make prayer free to train. 'Strengthening'= Attacking.. :wall: Agility= You run around a obstacle course(agilitating?) Other than that, I believe this would be extremely hard to implement. Unless they had a 'prayer beast' that would reward you a good amount of prayer exp when you killed it. Yes, I understand some monsters drop bones, but this would be different. It would give you a significant amount of pray exp, but to balance it out it would be a high combat level and you'd have to use a prayer while fighting it to receive the exp. darkblade986
If this were to be done, there'd have to be some way to balance it out. For example, maybe make it where you need to have like 50 prayer to access such an altar. Then, also make it where you gain about xp equal to 1/3-1/4 of your prayer level every 2 or 3 seconds. Also, make it where you "become exhausted from your praying and will be unable to continue praying for 30 minutes" after so long (perhaps 5 minutes), so that people can't just sit there, place a paper weight on the right arrow key, and level up effortlessly. Just to prove that my thoughts work, a person with 99 prayer would gain 25-33 prayer experience every 2 or 3 seconds. Assuming the worst values (3 seconds, 1/4 level), this is 100 increments of 25 prayer experience, totaling a mere 2,500 experience. A dedicated person could earn this much easily with Dragon Bones and a Gilded Altar in less than half the time (and realize that this assumes level 99). Also, assuming the max values (2 seconds, 1/3 level), this same player would gain just under 5,000 experience. Given, I can understand this being abused since you could technically do this 24 times a day, but a decent quest could be put in that balances out the gain. Also, my values are open to adjustment, however I still have to give a disagree on it. Prayer is another one of those skills where you really have to work to get it up, and a simple method like this really defies the point of it. don't worry, you are going to "hell" anyway. wanna race to see who gets there first?Officially reached 100 Combat at 1:33PM EST, June 14, 2007First Dragon Drop: Dragon Chain (Dust Devils) @ 10:48PM EST, July 14, 2008, lv113 combat
calum12
i think the only reason we train prayer by burying bones is beacuse no1 has actually come up with a decent idea to replace it. (not that ive heard of.) Hmmm.... I need a new siggy, get round to doing it later. Probably.
Kiriyama
i think the only reason we train prayer by burying bones is beacuse no1 has actually come up with a decent idea to replace it. safibn
how about this: there are two ways of gaining prayer exp; burrying bones and praying. when you do a prayer and lose prayer points, every prayer point lost will eaqual one exp. simple balanced perfect :D PURPLE ROCKS AND I OWN EVERYTHING

Gandorf61
Expanding on this idea what if you would be allowed to pray at a special alter once a day and it gives you 10 times your prayer level in experience. Ex// Gandorf61 is level 35 in prayer gandorf61 *Prays* Gandorf61 gets 350 prayer experience. This would make prayer a bit easier to level up as right now it is extremely tedious. redrocrulez
I believe you get the prayer xp from honuring(sp?) the dead by burying their remains (bones) And a qoute from Jagex: Unlike other skills, you do not gain experience in Prayer through the act of praying (i.e. using Prayer or praying at an altar). Instead, you gain experience by burying the bones of creatures you (or another) have killed. decebal
let's see, praying can be a method of training, just make it slow and cheap, while the normal method is faster and expensive. Also, we bury bones to show Saradonim (that's with who humans in Runescape are attributed with), that we value peace, giving the dead a place to go. Or any gods you choose! Zammy to ermm... why can't you alliniate your skill lvling with a god? Say, destroy bones for zammy, burn the bones to armady to the sky, and stuff like that. Makes it more fun!
