The Haunted Picwood!

Recommended Posts

Hey there! Some of you may remember my ghost story from the beginning of summer. Well, you know what. More has happened! And this time, I have pictures of the areas for a photo tour.

First, lets get the the basics down. I'm a projectionist at a movie theater that is about 30-40 years old. I have near exclusive access to the upstairs area at any time I want. The other two people are older people who are managers who wouldn't try to scare me.

I also live in a small town. Ghost stories are everywhere, and if a building is more than 20 years old, it will

have a story.

I'm not easily scared, nor will I believe any story I hear. So, when I first started working here, I just shrugged off the ghost stories I heard. After 2 years, I had enough experiences that I believed. 2 years later, I believe even more!

The general ghost story is as follows: Years ago, a projectionist(the owner at the time) became depressed because he learned that his son is homosexual. He hung himself from the viewing window in #4. The other story involves a couple, with an irate boyfriend who hangs his girlfriend, but that doesn't have quite as much real logic to it.

Time for my stories now!

First up, the snake attack and haunted speakers!

This is theater #10. [hide=click here]10.GIF[/hide]

Let me begin the snake attack by saying, I know it's not a ghost thing, but it is cool!

One day, while I'm training the new projectionist, I walk to number 10 to start it. Before we had gone off to do stuff, he had been talking about how he likes to scare/irritate people with all sorts of stuff.

When I'm checking over the rollers, I see this 2 and a half foot black "snake" thing sitting on top of the projector. Since we had just been talking about his jokes, I decided I would take his rubber snake and throw it at him. I reach out, and grab the middle.

If you haven't ever held a snake, just know this. It does not feel like a rubber snake at all...

I pull my hand back and it lifts its head a stares at me. Then, I go grab a trash can, and try to knock it down. When I get back to it, it's gone!

Probably dropped down and crawled into the walls.

The other story involves a haunted speaker. This is the same theater, just a different angle so you can see the speaker.

[hide=click here]speaker.gif[/hide]

This speaker will make static noises when it is first turned on, untill you beat it for a second. It never turns on later and makes noises.

One day, it did. (ominous music)

It's about 11:45pm and I am turning off theaters. All power was cut off to the speakers, but i hear a faint static sound.

psssssssss

I look behind me to the other theaters, but their off too. The static gets louder.

Pssssss..Sssssss..SSSSSSSSS

And then the speaker begins to crackle from how loud it's getting. Suddenly, the lamp in the projector turns on, and then turns off, and it's all silent....

Now, let's walk down the hall to the next spot.... The tool room!

[hide=click here]tool%20room.gif[/hide]

Ok, nothing happened in there, but it looks cool!

Now, the story of the dancing lights.

[hide=click here]tool%20room.gif[/hide]

See that door there? It leads to a walled off area, about 4x2 feet. It's filled with 1960s posters. There is no light bulb, nor is there any way to get electricity in there that isn't visible. If your inside, you are trapped because it locks from that direction for some reason.(I know this from experience...)

Walking by one day, I notice a bright light under the frame.

I take a step forward and the light flashes.

Another step forward. Another flash. apparently, it is timed with my footsteps.

I hop twice to test it, and yes. It flashes twice.

I'm sure I'm going to find someone who is trying to scare me, so I tiptoe quickly to the door, with the light flashing the whole time.

The instant my hand touches the doorknob, a person shaped "shadow" passes in front of the light, and I pull back. Even if someone had made it in, they could not have made that shadow.

I grab the door again, and the light shuts off. When I open it, there is nothing there!

The story of the really loud noise when noone was around.

[hide=click here]boxes.GIF[/hide]

Those are what movies come in. Large, loud metal cans. To my left is the door to the hallway I just showed you. To my right, a door to another hallway.

Both hallways have motion sensors in there. If a person comes through either way, the cops are called.

One night around 2am after a movie preview(I think it was happy feet, some kids show at least) I go downstairs after turning everything off and arming the alarm. The boxes look something like that, like normal.

I get downstairs, and clock out. This is directly below that area, so sounds can be heard very well.

I hear what sounds like a pair of heels, and a pair of heavy workboots walking around up there.

Crap! Cops are going to come in and ask what I am doing there right then.

But the sounds stay in the same general area, and the cops don't come, nor do I get a call saying anything has been noticed.

Suddenly, a HUGE crashing sound happens. I throw away all my fear, and run to the door upstairs, unlock and open it. Run up the stairs, unlock and open the next door.

The alarm warns me that I just opened the door, and I disarm it. It would have told me that something else had triggered the motion sensors.

As I start walking, the indicator for the motion sensor just around the corner blinks.

I grab a metal pole that I have by the door, and walk silently to the corner and jump out. Nothing is there....

As I walk from there to where I hear the noise, I check every corner, turn on every light, but nothing is there.

When I get to the boxes, they are all open, and are not only there, but strewn through that area, and the hall to the right :\

After checking out the other hall, I go and spend 20 mins closing all of them and go home.

My final story is the one that scared me the most. This is the time I actually saw the ghost. I am at the following place threading up theaters.

[hide=click here]light%20hall.gif[/hide]

As normal, I am the only person there, and the door is locked behind me. The thing on the far left side that looks like a door, is one. If you come through that door to where I am, the only way out is back through it.

When I get to 3(the projector you see up front) I see an orange shape come through the door and walk strait to the wall. Thinking this is a joke by someone who followed the manager up, I tiptoe to the projector and jump out to scare them.

Nothing.

Thinking I imagined it, I walk back. Halfway there, I hear a soft girl's voice say my name, in a spooky ghostlike fashion.

I go check again, but still nothing. I even go further down, and check the other projector as well.

I walk back to 3, and continue threading up while keeping an eye out.

The shape passes by again. Then it passes by again! Impossible, I would have seen it double back.

Once more, it passes by, and right as it goes out of sight it says, "Trent! Help me please!" in the ghostly tone.

Quickly, I run past the projector(nothing there) and to the office(nothing there) and then downstairs. I stay down there for the next 30 mins untill people get there and will talk with me while I work...

Kay, that's all the stories I have, If I ever get more, I'll make sure to post them.

Oh yeah, Wow! That's a lot of popcorn!

I've always wondered what it looked like up there.

Anyway, why do ghosts seem to always favor small towns?

The only ghosts I ever heard about was when my grandparents called me telling me the ghost of the lady who used to own the house was walking in the attic. My brother also hit their roof with a soccer ball. They were so serious, I was about to burst out laughing. (My grandparents live in the house next door)

EDIT: What's a picwood? I'm guessing it's the theater?

SECOND EDIT: Now I have enough information to mail you a letter with a lolcat in it! *evil laugh* :twisted:

I would quit I think. Rigth after I was done [cabbage]ting my pants. I intend to live in a new house so I don't get stuck with a haunted one. Been in more than one place that Im sure was haunted for a nigth each, I prefer lights that dont flash, halls that dont walk, and stoves that turn on when the kitchen door opens.

Call Ghost Busters? :XD:

Woha! Spooky.

Trent, help me please!

Well.. help her then. Find out who she is and what she wants. (and don't try to collect evidence. That might freak her out.) We all know from ghost stories that there is something that keeps the ghost from passing on. Find it and fix it for her. Maybe you should find out, what really was happening. If somebody died at that place, then surely there will be some records of it. (I wouldn't exactly tell the ghost story to everybody you interview - not that they start thinking you are mad. Just say you are curious.) When it's all done, write a book about it =P

heck, sounds great, i would have really crapped myself, but i love being scared so meh.

i would have stayed at work too, mainly to have many story's to tell, or even write a novel about some of the strange hauntings...

if i worked there (to young to get a job btw) i would have loved it, in the 13 years i been alive i have saw various strange things that are unexplained.

such as a grean furry hand appearing from nowwhere, i blink and it was gone. or the moving shadow behind the chair.or the unexplained banging upstairs when no one is upstairs, i love being scared so i really would have liked to work there.

also, my old school was haunted in the boys bathroom.this is what would happen:

there was a corner in the boys bathroom which was haunted, one person would sit in this corner after turning the lights of, people would watch this persons face change, or morph, into something difrent, something demon like, i remember 1 friend ended up with lips on his forehead, then we would turn the lights back on and there face would go back to normal,this was not an illusion from the darkness as we all saw the same things as each other but at diffrent positions, with illusions though, angles and positions are everything, if this was an illusion cuase by darkness we would all have seen something diffrent depending on where we stood and based on imagination.but this was real, we all saw the same thing.

nice stories, one question though, are you the only one that hears voices? if so then there are two explanations. 1.) you have psychic abilities 2.) you have officially lost your mind. if it's 1 then quit your job and start a paranormal investigation company. 2, then quit your job and hide in a closet somewhere.

i think your stories affected me last night...

i was trying to get to sleep (struggling, darn why am i never tired?) anyway just as i started thinking about what i read on this thread, something moves slightly in my room on its own and falls off the shelf. it looked like it was pushed but i was alone in the room, i didnt see nor hear a rat and the shelf would be to high for a rat....

i have yet to investigate this futher as to why the object fell with nothing touching it...

Man though, but I wish I had a haunted movie theater to work in.

All I have is a gas station? And it's not even haunted.

My greatest ambition is to kill every member of the human race.

However I am a realist and therefore know that I probably wont be able to.

:XD: Lol, good one. But, that is pretty freaky... When I heard that voice I would have taken out my phone, recorded it and showed it to my friends to see if they could here anything. Maybe you should ask the other employees if they're felt something weird at the theatre?

If you really believe that the place is haunted, try photographing for orbs or mist.

bring a laptop and set up a webcam and put it on record so you can have proof. then since most ppl are afraid of ghosts, when ur boss finds out about your proof he'll pay or promote you to keep you quiet. or kill you but i'm not sure what kind of person your boss is so...
