Assassin1357
Im thinking about getting an mp3 player since I have a lot of down time in classes like history and home room and such. Dont worry the teachers allow it as long as we are working. I want a Ipod, most likely one that I can store videos on and stuff. If the price of the Itouch drops ill probably get that. My main question is, If i have a friend who has Ipod can they download their songs to my Ipod or is their some protection devide that stops it. Im not a big fan on paying $1 for a song unless I really like it and it will really add up over time. Also can i download songs to it from cds ive downloaded to my computer? yaff2
ill teach you lots First off, if your going to buy an ipod, ONLY buy an ipod video. the only one worth buying, Second. You cannot transfer songs from Ipod to Ipod, as far as i know Third. You DO NOT have to pay for the songs, Itunes is just the client you use to put the music/videos on your Ipod. You can choose to pay for them, but i wont. I download my music (SHHH, everyone does it :P) and then add them to Itunes, by going File > add song (file) to library. Then, when you plug in your ipod, it will auto. sync to it. Fourth. You can RIP a cd onto your computer then add them to itunes. need any more help? PM me. or add my msm, i have an ipod, so i have a pretty good idea on what to do. I never used to like ipods. and i swore i would never get one. but, my other Mp3 player didnt have enough room. so, i upgraded, but the only ipod worth getting was the MINI or the VIDEO and since they stopped making the MINI the video, was a better choice, i bought the 30 GIG ipod video. and i now love it! 1980 Berlinetta with a 350, bored, mild cam, intake carb, headers, exhaust
Bubsa
Well, I know plenty of pals who love their ihpod, but have had trouble with it. Tbh, I'd recommend a Creative Zen: Vision M. Longer battery life, more codec support, easier interface (IMO) and cheaper. Win win smegging win. This is how much you all raised for charity. Thank you. Nadril
Its all personal preference really, choose which one suits you best. I personally don't like the Zen interface but many people do.
Iamdan
Grab an ipod video 30 gig on ebay. You can get a new one for about $220-$250 inc postage.
ThoseTheBrokes
Second. You cannot transfer songs from Ipod to Ipod, as far as i know Nope, you can't, BUT if you've got a friend with plenty of music & which also includes the music you like, then take it around to his house, and sync it from his Itunes. but that means you can't then sync it from your own Itunes if you want to add some more songs, because the songs you gained from your friend will be removed. Actually you can if you change the ipod settings to show hidden files, then you can see and copy the music.
How2PK
My advice would be to get a nice discman. One like this: I've had it for nearly 10 years now (although it's not the exact same model) and it stll works perfect. With the money you save you can buy a good pair of headphones and then you still save a lot. Besides, anybody heard of an I-pod that lasted longer than five years? And not to mention that it will make you a better person. It will learn you to appreciate what you have, instead of mass consuming your music like a fat and greedy piggy. Well, in addition to what Bubsa said, it also has better sound quality than that of the iPod, and the screen is brilliant for watching videos (if you're into that). I think that makes up for the fact that it's a few mm's bulkier than the iPod. I've had one for about a year now and it hasn't let me down yet. Bauke
First of all, the Creative Zen Vision:M and the old Creative Zen are NOT the same. Second, Creative released a new Creative Zen, which is a small video player with SDHC expansion possibilities. I wouldn't reccomend buying an iPod ever. Not that great sound quality, not an UMS device, and just a general lack of features. Look at brands like Cowon, iriver, Creative and Meizu. They all make far better players. I've had my iPod for... about 3-4 years now and its fine. Nearing closer to 4 years. Same model too. Either way recommending a CD player when he wants an Mp3 player is kind of dumb. Most of us have one so we can actually listen to music on a go, where a CD player (comparatively) is pretty large. I know one couldn't even fit in my pocket. By your logic all those people recommending a Zen are doing something kind of dumb as well, since he asked about I-pod. A CD player isn't 'large', you're just spoiled with your tiny music boxes. I always took and still take my discman around and I never had any problems putting it away. People had discmans to listen to music "on a go" as well, you know. I used to have one for a long time. Also the jump from an iPod to a Zen isn't the same thing as an iPod to a CD player. And why do you continue to insist we're spoiled? There are a lot of reasons to have an mp3 player instead of a CD player, obviously one of which is storage size and the other is the simply small scale of one. You can inisist all you want that a CD player is fine but when you have a few thousand songs its just a hassle dealing with CD's.

wakka102
There is a way to take songs off of you're ipod to a computer if you plug it into someone's computer, its actually quite simple. So technically you could transfer from Ipod to Ipod as long as the one you're transferring too is registered to the computer you're putting the songs on from the other ipod. I don't have a disk that can hold a little over 2000 songs, all the south parks, all of the lord of the rings extended editions, and team america in it (and I watch watch movies on a discman anyways...) Yes, spoiled. Movies aren't meant to be watched on a screen that isn't just 5 by 5. in centimentres And with the music spoiled that means that you are spoiled when you've always got 2000 songs with you to choose from, and when you pack a discman you take two or three CD's at most and then you're learning to value what you've got and how it is made, not when you just brainlessly go from #42 to #1837. Besides, why is it neccesary to always have all your music with you. It's sad when you're on the street and you see all those zombies with something in their ears just walking a bit. You know, you don't always have to listen to music, it's nice to communicate with other people as well. I can switch from a techno mood to a death metal mood instantly, and its nice to just have all my music there available to me at once. CD's are also simply an annoyance to carry around. Honestly though, I don't know why you're trying to argue this. Aside from cost mp3 players are clearly superior.
