Apparently, the Framers of this Constitution were not very competent.

Where is the love? :-w

Reality is hundreds of times more beautiful and more interesting than delusions. Fairy tales just tend to be easier to follow than the wonderful intricacies of life.

Well if the girl follows her punishments then I don't think rules are going to change...

You must take action, especially against such idiotic unreasonable rules like these, in order to change or hpe to change them.

Going back to the school board's policies...its crap.

I didn't wanna hug you anyways. -.-

Seriously though, its a stupid rule. We've seen a lot of posts about this stuff already :/.

It kinda makes you think, what if it was her brother and they didn't know, would they give her detention?

Also, her friends were completely fine with her hugging them. These are 12-13 year old girls, this has been happening ever since school was invented.

Now "showing affection" is a bad thing.

Somehow they put that it was "poor taste", ect in their rules for doing such a act.

Well you better not hug your husband/wife when you get home, its "poor taste".

Really, how stupid can humans get. I think we might hit the negative IQ's soon.

Is the rule actually: "No kissing/hugging etc." or is it "No public display of affection".

The thing is, if it's the second, it's extremely subjective. Granted, no one really wants to see two people eating each other's face off in the corridor, but a hug is a hug, come on.

However, if it was the former, well the girl's missing a few upstairs if she can't abide by simple rules.

Unless she was rebelling. Right on, sister. -.-

Its not like a hug means anything now.

Most females hug others for little reason now.

It's the latter, all schools I know are against '"Public display of affection" stuff.

Plus it was in the article.

Which brings me to my next point. Any girls in here wanna hug me? <3:

Back on topic.. apparently the rules are "NO AFFECTION".. now what implys as "affection" and what not are apparently decided by the school board AKA "There opinion"

That's very... Strict.

In my school, students as young as 13-14 openly kiss and the teacher's just take the mic'.

In the sixth form (17-18 year olds), students quite frequently fondle, jokingly and the teachers laugh along/joke about it.

It's odd, but I suppose American schools are different.

Personally, if the teacher gave me detension for hugging somebody, I'd do it another thousand times, and then to him... Just for good measure.

New sig to come!

Hahaha, that's just hilarious. How ridiculous can you get?

Who knows what other wacky rules they have there

Umm I think it was actually about some guy slapping some girls on the arse. They saw no offence in it but he got a 2 day suspension.

There was some post before about someone getting in trouble at school because of hugging. Could have been a different incident though.

Hugging just leads to even more heinous acts like finger pointing.

"The only way to avoid packaging the water would be to deliver it to people's homes and places of business through some sort of amazingly intricate and complex series of reservoirs, pumping stations, pipes . . . hey, wait a second.."

I know its a girl thing, but at my school, girls always slap eachother in the arse in front of anyone, even teachers. Pretty much everyone hugs (Heck, ive seen two teachers who are married go up and kiss eachother in front of students). It depends on the area i guess as my school dosent feel the PDA is a big issue.

you're kidding right....RIGHT???

I don't get the issue with PDA, back when I had a girlfriend we had ALOT of PDA and it pissed some people off but I didn't care because it doesn't bother me. I don't understand why it bothers people at all.
