Should RuneScape Host An Official Party/Competition?

Featured Replies

Well I was just wondering if you guys thought that RuneScape should setup a party in the fally party room, one Mod per world who can pay for the things in the party room.. (Money, not the items)

Discuss?

I dont need a siggy no moar.

A problem there is that not all mods are the saintly upholders of the law we want them to be (Not having ago at the mods who do try and make runescape a fun and safe environment for everyone) but what stops them from just taking the items and running?

Woodcutting does not raise your combat level because most people do not play as yew trees.
but what stops them from just taking the items and running?

Self-respect? :?

Don't see the point anyway. But i'm not much of a party person. :P

I know of many cases where mods stole things, so I wouldnt really wonna trust random mods with my stuff.

yeah, not all mods are trustworthy people. I don't think it's that good an idea because you can generally find a good drop party in the party room on a crowded world

Ya, this COULD work if it you were referring to Jagex Mods doing this...

However it almost seems like your just saying have them pay for all the dancing knights on the table and the ballon drops...which dont really cost all that much.

I suppose they could just make it to where those things go off at random on certain days and noone has to pay to see them or something.

Other then that theres not too much need for this :?

i think Combat Tournaments would be so cool have a tournament World and only those signed up can join the world, and they scedule u matches, say there would be diffrent classes like there are in MMA like level 80-90s, 100-105s, etc Mage, Rangers, Meleer's i think it would be cool and have a small prize at the end and have say 2 tournaments a month every 2nd saturday or somthing thats just an idea i think would be cool

Finally the secrets of goal achieving are revealed! (give my guide a read :^_^: )

Seeing how much people complain about any update, all people would do is complain about how they didn't get a bag full of christmas crackers or 500 santa hats.

Sorry, but, I don't think an official party thing would work. It would also cost precious money for the Jagex staff.

When you say Mod, you do mean a Jagex Mod, correct?

I don't really see the point of this. A J-Mod giving out stuff he created? Kinda pointless...and the lag due to the amount of people will be horrible. :(

I'm sure the j-mods have much better and more important things to do.

I did mean J-Mods, and I met one yesterday and he wasn't arrogant and was there to help. I asked him and he said 'We never thought about it, but we probably wont have the time' ... Not the "probably"?

@Nick, of course I meant J-Mods, and there are enough to do 1 world each. And there wouldn't be many people in each world, probably as many people there are now. Just... all of them in one area.

A J-Mod would probably be able to lock the doors on the Fally Party Room, only letting 50 or so people in at a time =)

I dont need a siggy no moar.

Probably is a nice way of saying it won't happen :P

Can I just add

First the community wants j mods to get their heads down and ban autoers

Now they want them to kick back and host parties?

I agree. What's the point from setting up a party? better to resolve other matters that cause some troubles in Runescape instead of creating parties.

Kind Regards

*Started Runescape in 1st of August 2005*.

I'd like to see that, but I don't think that will ever happen. Jagex mods have enough to worry about. :)

You also got to know that if that happened and it was posted on the main page and all, the server it is in would be full probably ten times its bandwidth, and all those people in one area would cause some impressive lag.

host one yourself then

Read the title. An Official Runescape Party/Competition

I engineered this thread with precise variables that I know would cause lul-worthy flames.
