I hope life runes arent sold in shops rather you have to get them from runecrafting and have like a 80 rcing requirement

It won't be F2P and it shouldn't be. We only 'pay' through ads for the server resources and a share in the generic updates. In no way should we get this sort of thing as an update.

Everyone here is saying Summoning will be this....., or summoning will be that....Folks the answer is we DON'T know. Howver, I can guarantee one thing - as soon as it is released there will be a myriad of topics here, and RSOF, called "Summoning sucks", "Summoning has screwed the economy" and others with words to that effect :wall: :wall:

If this is the case i really wonder why would they make a new skill that uses magic when there already is a magic skill...

hmm if not runes it has to use some part of the monster (like dragon bones for dragon and etc.) IMO

Hmm... Summoning eh? :-k I wonder how you will be able to level it? Do you get xp per animal/monster summoned? (Or how ever it's spelled.)

All I can think about are the poor people who kept saying "Summoning isn't coming" and how much they'll get flamed...

yesish, they say they were originally going to incorporate it into the magic skill as a new magic book but because of desert treasure(ancient magicks) they decided to make it a standalone skill. They did not say they've scrapped the life rune however just that they didn't release it because they didn't release summoning as an extension to the magic skill. I bet my brain that life runes are used in summoning (maybe with the bones of the animals or something also needed).

I really hope they have a "Summon Noob" spell, his name would be "Pker198482" or something like that and he has full bronze on, he will do tasks for you at very low cost because he doesn't know any better and he has several catch phrases if you kick him, such as "Phr33 St00f Pl0x?" or "0HIMG33 G1V3 M3 P33HAT!!1"

Wow, I wasn't expecting that. Hang on, I was right! We weren't expecting it! Woohoo! \'

This is a good move on Jagex's part. Summoning sounds very exiting, however I don't think it will be technically magic related. Releasing a new rune will result in an inconsistency in the plot behind how Runes work. For example, the Ourania alter would have already made the Life Rune, even if we couldn't access the 'Life Altar', similar to how we can't access the Blood altar but we can make it at the Ourania altar. Unless the altar needs to be created...

 

 

 

Now, change the Duel Arena and we will all be happy.

Interesting to say the least. I just hope Jagex moved far enough away from 'Animal Lore' as to me, that's sounds like the most boring skill possible.

 

 

 

I don't want the creature that I summon to be around forever, hopefully most summoned animals for use in combat wont be too overpowered.

To be honest, I'd much rather have a new bank system (like the one on tip.it in the suggestions forum) than this. But oh well, it still looks awesome! :D

Can you imaginate how it will be boring to rise summoning skill, summon, summon, summon...(and i bet they will make 1 summon every 15mins or something), maybe and addition to magic would be batter? :-s

yyyyeeeesssss!!!! finally I can summon a dog to burry my bones and a monkey to pick up my itums when I train! yay! plus, they've worked on this for longer than any other skill, so you know that it has to be good.

It seems very Runescape to me, you know what with magic being able to do pretty much everything else (turn bones into peaches, summon a fire bolt etc..)

 

I hope they have both combat summons (to fight with/for you) and helper summons (i especially like the ideas(snake6man's) of a dog burying your bones and a monkey storing items on its 'person' for you).
