December 7, 200718 yr There are plenty of people who like the Beatles. In fact, the fact that there's no band like them around anymore is probably a testament to their awesomeness... nobody can even come close.
December 7, 200718 yr I don't personally enjoy most of their music, but it is impossible to deny that they contributed more to music than most other sources.

December 7, 200718 yr They're boring. A lot of times. Signature by Maurice SendakWhen the stars make you drool just like a pasta fazool, that's amore!
December 7, 200718 yr The Beatles are probably the most popular band even today, I mean, if you look around at all the people with Beatles shirts, and people who like the Beatles, it's downright mania. I like some of their work; I don't worship it, I don't think they are the best band ever, and many of the songs in the first years of their career are downright irritating. I don't think I would put any Beatles song in my top 10 favs, probably not even my top 20. However, I do enjoy some of their songs/albums, and give them credit for the sheer volume of great tunes they made. And I think the reason people don't make music like this anymore is they can't. They were a product of their time, and an incredible collaboration of talent.
December 7, 200718 yr And I think the reason people don't make music like this anymore is they can't. They were a product of their time, and an incredible collaboration of talent. Psychedelic music is still very popular among soft drug users and hippies. I think it really depends on the crowd. These days I only listen to a few select Beatles songs (Lucy, Strawberry Fields, Walrus, Tomorrow Never Knows). However, the soundtrack for the Across the Universe movie is really great, and some of those covers would be in my top 20. :)
December 7, 200718 yr I don't like em that much...But yeah, they were probably the most influential band ever.
December 7, 200718 yr I like them because my parants have a whole case full of lp`s,and im a guy who loves 60`s and 70`s music very much! 99 Firemaking 30-5-2010 | 99 Fletching 13-7-2014 TET-AU member:6-10-2010 - 21-10-2011
December 7, 200718 yr The Beatles were the first band I ever listened to and knew what I was listening to. I still love them. My dad has every single album they've ever made, and I have their "1" compilation. The only songs I don't like from them are, unfortunately, their best known ones: "Love Me Do," I Want to Hold Your Hand," etc. The rest is gold.
December 7, 200718 yr I love the Beatles!! Shame people still hate them because the Beatles inspired a lot of bands that later got inspired by other bands. Face it, the Beatles were one of the fathers of rock. Whats so interesting is Paul McCartney is still in the music business and after 40-years, he still remains a great artist. We should euthanize anyone who lacks the capability to contribute to society in any way. Please don't elect this man for president in 2012
December 9, 200718 yr I like very few of their songs, but I think the world would be very different from what we know right now. Matt: You want that eh? You want everything good for you. December 9, 200718 yr the Beatles are by far the best band ever, undeniably. In terms of musicianship, lyrics, everything. If they could be brought back (R.I.P. John, 27th year anniversary...and George too) that would be terrific lol. But the beatles weren't the only great thing that came out of the 60s...well, if you can go into the 70s it'd be much easier to get some good bands, but really there were a ton of good bands from the 60s besides the Beatles. Anyway, the Beatles surpassed any band of the time, and of the times today because of their skill and deepness of the lyrics. Not saying that others didn't have that...Bob Dylan *cough*...But really. George Harrison is one of my favorite guitarists ever, Paul McCartney revolutionized bass playing, and provided amazing piano and guitar, John was another great piano and guitar player, and had some of the best lyrics in songs ever. The thing about modern music is all it is a wall of sound with a rubber stamp voice. it doesn't do anything, it literally all sounds the same. Every song. Listen to "for the benefit of Mr. Kite, Glass Onion, Hey Bulldog...those songs just are so revolutionary, they take music to a whole new level that modern music doesn't do--rather it just kinda has stalled out. Only a few bands do take music to a new level. the best one being Radiohead. Click for mah Blog!- I'm not sure why you would though because i never update it Achieved 99 Thieving 3/10/07-992nd to it

December 9, 200718 yr To be honest, I think music needs to progress to new areas, rather than churning out more stuff that we have already heard. Im not to big on the Pop music history but I think bands like Queen and the Red Hot Chili Peppers have shaped pop music as much (if not more than the Beatles). I don't fully understand the extent of the Beatles influence though, as I have only heard their big hits. LSD (Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds :D ) is one of my favourite songs of all time. Thanks Venomai for this super sig and Kwimbob for the awesome avatar!

December 10, 200718 yr And I think the reason people don't make music like this anymore is they can't. They were a product of their time, and an incredible collaboration of talent. Psychedelic music is still very popular among soft drug users and hippies. I think it really depends on the crowd. Almost none of The Beatles' music is what I would consider psychedelic. Some, but the vast majority is just pop-rock.
December 10, 200718 yr Simplicity. And for the Beatles, it worked. And they sound GREAT. You can't deny the pop-catchiness. I don't run races to see who's the fastest, I run to see who has the most guts. -PreCurrently the best beat out there:Minuit jacuzzi (DatA Remix) - TEPR
December 10, 200718 yr Pfft what about 60s soul? Bring back those amazing voices such as Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, James Brown, Temptations, Isley Brothers, Gladys Knight to name a few. Lol I'll be honest, I don't even think I know any Beatles songs apart from Yellow Submarine which I sang in infant school. SHH HUT YUH MUH. DERKHED.
December 10, 200718 yr Aw, no love for Jefferson Airplane? Starship > A Day in the Life Nuff said. "El que no arriesga no gana"
December 10, 200718 yr My parents like the Beatles alot (for reasons I don't know).. I thought the music is pretty boring (but it's far better than most of the junk of 60's). Some of the Beatles later production is funny though, you can easily hear (and see from the song names) they were high on drugs while making those songs. The lyrics sometimes make so little sense it's humor itself.

December 11, 200718 yr Personally I prefer the 70's. But Bob Dylan's 60's material was probably his best.
December 11, 200718 yr Pfft what about 60s soul? Bring back those amazing voices such as Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, James Brown, Temptations, Isley Brothers, Gladys Knight to name a few. 'Cause there ain't no mountain hiiiiiiiiiigh enough. The Beatles are fine, but I honestly think that they're overrated now. Their stuff has just been played over and over and over and over again. The code in my sig should say 1032 not 0132.
December 11, 200718 yr ^ Just like Invader Zim jokes... And who here said that 60's music was trash...Whatch you talkin bout willis?! :?
