December 27, 200718 yr I would've been using Mixes for a long time if the Barbarian Training area wasn't so out of the way. I've known about how useful they are since they came out, and I actually used quite a few of them after stocking up on about 200 Caviar.
December 27, 200718 yr Mixes are very useless IMO. The only times I ever take damage, inventory space is important to me. I often carry 3 super sets to a slayer task as well... Don't expect me to bring 6 of each mix potion. Everyone is speaking about using the mixes when doing slayer, but think of the lower levels who are trying to do Barrows? The rebellious.

December 28, 200718 yr Author Mixes are very useless IMO. The only times I ever take damage, inventory space is important to me. I often carry 3 super sets to a slayer task as well... Don't expect me to bring 6 of each mix potion. Not to mention that the extra sharks you can bring in the space that you save with 4 dose pots is far better than what the mixes heal. If you'll look at my math, you'll find that bringing mixes provides more healing than Shark. One 4 dose pot and one shark is 4 doses of potion and 20 healing in 2 inventory spots. 2 mixes is STILL the same amount of inventory and potion dosage, but provides 24 healing as opposed to 20. If Inventory space is so important to you, then a mix is actually more efficient for you. Do you hate Wyverns or Warped Terrorbirds? Think again! He still has enough prayer to use protect melee but he wishes to eat to full so he has to drink 3 or 4 doses of his prayer mix thus wasting an entire ppot just to heal? Mixes might have some very limited uses but generally speaking the disadvantages far outweigh the slight hp boost. And speaking of high lvl monsters like dk's or godwars, most experienced monster hunters use sara brews and super restores instead of ppots and sharks.. *(4) Super Restore + (4) Sara brew = ~60hp heal (at 99hp, like mine) and 4 more prayer points than a (4) Prayer Potion *(4) Ppot + Shark = 20hp heal + prayer points *2 (2) Prayer mixes = 24hp heal + prayer points but very unconvenient 99 cooking / 99 magic / 99 ranged / 99 hitpoints / 99 herblore / 99 defence Quoted for truth, wisest thing I've heard anyone say on Runescape.
December 28, 200718 yr Author Well like I said, Mixes arent a replace all for pots. Due to not being able to use with Sara Brews, If you were going to bring Sara Brews. I never mentioned Barrows because you dont always need healing and eating at the exact same time there. However, I have listed examples which I believe have a usage for both healing and eating at the same time. If youre training, simply stop eating before you need to recharge prayer. December 28, 200718 yr For extremely difficult solo fights or avoiding death they can be very usefull. Most people will have no idea what im talking about but ill try explain Theres two types of healing: -"bites" - any type of food (sharks, pies) -"sips" - any type of drink (prayer pot, str, and imporantly sara brews) It takes the same time to eat a food as it does to drink a dose of pot by themselves, but you can eat both a bite and a sip in the same time as it takes to do one by itself. alone - 40hp healed and 1 dose of ppot in 3 seconds shark shark ppot together - 40 hp healed and 1 dose of ppot in 2 seconds shark + ppot shark sara tank - 72 hp healed in 2 seconds - lowered range mage attack str shark + brew shark + brew Barbarian mixes come into use now not because they heal hp but are a "bite" instead of a "sip" which when means you can drink two diffrent potions in one go which is usefull when soloing a monster that hits very high and very fast solo healing - 78 hp healed, prayer restored, stats back to what they were with regular pots in 3 seconds shark + brew shark + brew super restore mix + combat pot it isnt the best use of invent space but if you ever try to solo sara boss or something else thats near impossible youll need every trick you can think of. they were also usefull for pking but not without endless flaming for safeing
December 28, 200718 yr Whenever I am boss killing I always do the following before every fight: Brew to 115hp or close, super restore, super att/str pot. In that order. When you are fighting the monster(s) you will eat emergency food if necessary, you won't be potting. So mixes are worthless for boss killing. As for slayer, I just use guthans. 2 mixes gives you 24hp and 4 doses of potion. 1 four dose potion and shark gives you 20hp and 4 doses of potion. Is it really worth the hassle of getting the caviar and making the mixes to save you 4hp when you're doing a slayer task, which is safe as safe can be and you've got guthans anyway? December 28, 200718 yr Mixes are not very usefull unless your in a situation where you only need 2 doses of a certain potion for an entire period of time. Otherwise just "shark potting" is much more usefull. Simply eat the shark by clicking on it then quickly click on the pot of choice. Do it in this order and you will eat the shark and drink the pot in one "turn" you might say. Mixes take the same amount of time to eat/drink as sharks doo so they could be actually more dangerous to have then sharks and regular pots. My Guide to Killing Green Dragon Autoers
December 28, 200718 yr What about you take mixes ÃÆÃâÃâànd food... Just think that they're useful hp addons? ;>
December 29, 200718 yr I already had a topic on this from before all those complainers spammed these forums. Here's a link http://forum.tip.it/viewtopic.php?t=722761
December 29, 200718 yr Whoa! Great information! I'm going to start using mixes now. : By popular demand, this signature is back- however I currently do not have a blog up at the moment and if I did I wouldn't update it. Sorry, the sig links to nowhere :( .
