Artificial_Doom_Flavor Posted January 4, 2008 Share Posted January 4, 2008 I've seen a lot of people put off by my negative attitude lately, and decided that I may as well make (at least) one last attempt at making helpful suggestions instead of ranting until my spleen explodes. This is a formula I have devised after a bit of rough thinking and presented in a couple other threads. It determines how much profit a player may make or how much money they may give away (in drops, stakes, or trades) per fifteen minutes or per hour. Current Formula: ((Total XP)/3m + (QP + (Total Level - 32̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâà) + (Combat Level - 3))/100 + (Trades Completed (Value > 9,000 gp) + Duels Completed (Stake of >= 2k gp?) + Players Killed)/150) * 3,000 Note that if this results in a number less than 3,000, the player simply defaults to the original 3,000 coin limit. ̢̢̮ââ¬Å¡Ã¬Ãâà33 when Summoning comes out What do you think of it? Too lax? Too stringent? Don't like it? That's fine! Just post YOUR proposed formulas here or modify the one I've posted. We should support and post the best one in this topic on the RuneScape forums as a community. If enough of us come together to support this change, we might very well make a difference and start steering this game in a better direction. Trades factor has an account-age related cap. For every hour played, four of the total trades made that are OVER NINE THOUSAND gp in value will be counted. Oh, that's right: In the case where the formula would produce any number LESS THAN 3,000 COINS, it would simply revert to 3,000 coins. Also, should play time be included in the formula? If so, how? Biased to benefit me (2001 char) and also because its more fair than just using skill total. Bots running 24/7 could get high skill totals. - Tournaments won instead of duels completed. Less chance of players with high wins being bots as opposed to bots dueling each other countless times. - Players killed count is from Bounty Hunter only (refer above). Not sure if what the term killed means anymore, but this would sort of be in line with Jagex's anti-RWT initiative, as with the above. And there should still be a hard cap for each contributing factor and the overall limit. But completly ignoring that last part, my trade limit is up around 6mil. Kinks is what you mean I believe, or your being incredibly racist. :P That formula hurts my brain, but any system that would allow people (who are unlikely to be bots/farmers) to have greater trading flexibility is fine by me. Give your input on a better value.) Players Killed has a cap depending on combat level. The reason stakes, PKs, and trades are in the formula is to cater to merchants and those who are ready to stake high due to better combat experience. I'm considering adding a "loss" penalty, where deaths to players or losses of stakes have negative consequences (but of course the factors may not be less than zero when counted toward the limit). One last note for now: This is going to take a LOT of work. Don't expect the end result to be short and sweet; that said, if we put our heads together I'm sure something will work out nicely. maunglord Posted January 4, 2008 Share Posted January 4, 2008 I say they put the 5% flux as in the exchange, and make player to player trade the same as exchange so player to player trades are not obsolete, that would make the most sense. AND any moron who wants to buy 1 mil from a RWT'er, will first have to put up 20m (5% of 20 is 1). But no, that's TOO fair to be implimented. So: if it must be a static number, base it on total level (something that is plausable for both p2p AND f2p), and since p2p has more skills to level up, they can have a higher trade limit regardless, I'm not asking much...I'm at total 940 something, maybe my limit can be like 10k-15k?
