I am going to train Slayer vigourously soon but, this is on hold until i aquire one important object. This object is the DFS it has a massive +7 sre bonus and an awesome +70 def bonus in all stats to my knowlage. So with my skill set In sig what should i do to save up the 10m more i need to get this awesome item?

Meh I wouldn't range Avansies since you spend money on P pots. I know you gotta spend money to make money, but in this case the money made back wouldn't equal a greater price than other methods of money making..

If you range black drags its actually a win/win/win situation. You can bank hides for money, bury bones for prayer exp and have a chance at getting a Vissage on your own which is a free DFS.

I would like to make a suggestion to you though that would be VERY helpful.

 

 

 

I would NOT go wasting all the money I have on ONE item. Even if it is the best shield in-game its only really worth it if you can afford it without emptying your bank for one. This is the same for all other items like Ranger sets and rares. You do NOT want to spend every last penny of yours for one item its not a smart thing to do.

 

 

 

I would say save 5-10m MORE than the price of a DFS so you have spending money after you buy such an expensive item. Also if you want to spend a small amount less you can put money in the exchange buying a Vissage. They are at least a mil cheaper than a DFS so you can save a bit of money. It takes near 2 weeks to get one though, unless your lucky.

Kc10 = 25-50k+ per trip, which is about 150k an hour even without items.

With your high range and prayer, I would do avianses with rune crossbow and mith bolts. I have no problem getting 300-400 addy bars per 2-3 hour trip, and even with the cost of prayer pots and mith bolts factored in, I total about 400k an hour profit with all the various high-alched rune daggers, rune limbs, and other drops. I usually even get a few ranarrs during the trip, making back the prayer pots used. The fact that you get to keep leveling up range at the same time is a bit of a bonus there.

 

 

 

Black dragons were a lot slower to range in terms of kills/profit an hour, to be honest. I didn't need to use prayer pots, but the drops were not that hot, and the chance of getting a visage is rather low.

 

 

 

Metal dragons are not that bad, but they are also not that great. While I have gotten 1 dragon legs off them, that's off of about 5-6 slayer tasks - that is not quick money. Especially as they are only 1.2 mill now. But you do have at least a possibility of a visage drop off them as well.

 

 

 

But metals and black dragons are a gamble, while avianses are a certain profit. So I vote for the wee little addy dropping birdsies.

I personally think that for slayer rune defender would be a lot more efficient. Most monsters do not damage you too much so massive defense wouldn't be an issue, but if you have the money by all means buy it, but I'd rather have guthans\black mask\bando armor and other items over DFS.

What? P Pots? Anyone with 60 defence can range them without praying. Just take 25 monkfish, alching runes, full rune with a rune crossbow. The higher your defence is, the more defence bonuses you can sacrifice for ranged attack bonuses.

Seconded.

Cheaper and more efficient than a DFS is getting yourself a full Guthans set and a rune defender. You'll get through the tasks much quicker that way, as you can use the full guthans to heal, letting you camp at most tasks till they are finished. And with the rune defender you'll do more damage, getting through the tasks that much quicker.

 

 

 

While the DFS may raise your strength a bit more than the defender, the defender is going to raise your attack a lot more, which adds up to more damage dealt over time.

~Simply put:~

 

 

 

~Torags'/Guthans' + Sharks + Super Sets + Rune Defender make you hit harder than the same set up with a DFS. DEFINITELY not worth it.~

I'll try to sum up everything that I read.

 

 

 

I actually do range those birds in GWD once a month to aquire my 3k addy bolts per month. I have tried selling addy bars at the lowest price on GE but the demand for them isn't very high at all. Yes I can get about 200k in just alchs there a trip but trips take far to long even if I'm not using prayer.

 

 

 

And for Barrows i tride it when i was much lower with magic dart and did over 50 runs with nothing but runes and gp. I should try my luck now but its not the most reliable. And i think this might be a possiblity.

 

 

 

And im not selling anything needed for Slayer, I already do have full guthans, (a clue got me my Robin [out of the tons i gelt i've done]) and I'm also working on B2P. So its not like I'm cleaning out my bank for this as i agree that would not be a wise decision.

 

 

 

As for Metals/Blk dragons i have done many slayer Tasks for metals without getting anything worth to woo over. I may how ever give Black Dragons another shot as the Bones and hides are a steady income which could pay for bolts if i bought but i make my own.

 

 

 

I was thinking of crafting double Cosmics and I've sold 4k or so at the Max GE price quite quickly but I dont know if it will be worth it as Pure Ess seems to be on the rise without the tons of Bots mining it anymore.

 

 

 

Do any of you have any more thoughts? (besides collecting seconds)
