I was lookin for bigfoot on san andreas on youtube, bam screamer. 1 am, heart attack..then I had to rewatch it, don't know why. Prob cause of revenge. SO I fast forward to the face and just stared at it til the thrill was gone..

Even though it might be old, it's a pretty original advertisement I've always liked, despite its scary nature.

Screamers are more of an annoyance to me--they might make me jump a bit at times, but that's just about it.

 

 

 

Some can be funny--if they are well made(I enjoyed the car commercial/meadow one)--but, in general, I find it to be a pain when someone deliberately posts a link to a screamer while advertising it as something else.

Even the ones that I know are coming manage to make me jump. No idea why though. They're incredibly annoying in that aspect. :P

I had a seizure of some sort, I don't get shocked by just about anything, but my tech-savvy friend pulled a not so nice prank on me...

 

 

 

He apparently uploaded a malicious piece of software on my computer while I was away (left it on)... Just out of nowhere while I was on tip.it or something, my screen went full-screen black, and that dead girl from The Grudge stared right at me & creeped forwards for about 1.5 seconds with that weird, low "rrrrrrrrrrrrarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr" sound in medium-high volume. After that my computer shut down instantly (no "shutting down" message, it just switched off).

 

 

 

I swear, in a dark room at 12.am and totally unexpected, THAT'S NOT A NICE EXPERIENCE. For maybe 10 seconds it changed my world view... But then he revealed me on MSN he had timed it after midnight :cry:

But now I know to look for the warning signs, such as some videos saying to look very closely at something, and looking at the comments below such videos : )

Screamers were some of the first things that made me be cautious about what to click on on the internet.

 

 

 

Ugh, stupid things.

They still make me jump, though I know most of them so it's not that bad. Ones I don't know, just make me angry that I got owned so badly by them. That I jumped, and like yelled, and actually got lured into it. Annoying.

The first screamer I saw scared me away from the internet and indeed the whole computer. I saw it, exited out of IE (yes, I was so little I didn't even know what firefox was), shut down the computer, and sat rocking myself on the bed, wondering how I would explain my white-turned-multicolored underwear to my parents (alright, that last part was made up, but I probably came close to needing a new pair).

 

 

 

I wouldn't touch the computer for days. Now I see them and occasionally I get a little spooked (that one game where you try to keep the ball away from any of the walls, and you get a screamer no matter what, that one scared me a bit, but I just kindof exited the webpage and went to another non-screamer-filled site. Once I managed to make a few videos that a friend wanted (it was a revenge thing), and I just added in a screamer on his favorite part...The screen would just go black (WMM ftw), for like 5 seconds, enough for him to get close and check, and the epic lulz start.

The first time I got hit with a screamer it got me. Everyone that followed hasn't done a damn thing.

 

I can smell them coming as soon as the video or "quiz" starts. Timing is everything with screamers.

My first one was when i was way younger and i cried. :( I still poop my pants when i get one these days as well. Im faint hearted :oops:

They don't bother me too much, I usually get over them pretty quick :D

 

 

 

Almost seriously hurt my sister with one, she managed to fall backwards off her chair and come like 2 cm from the corner of the tile things surounding our fireplace, which are about 5cm high. Good thing the chair was an office chair and she turned sideways and changed direction a little :P

First screamer I ever witnessed was on a bulletin on Myspace. It told you to look for a big difference between two pictures of this harbor. They were all in one picture, not two separate pictures. So there I was, 10pm at night, headphones on, iTunes not playing because my playlist was over (what are the odds). My face was extremely close to the screen, trying to spot out details. Then, a picture of this bleeding vampire appears and this loud roar/scream blasts into the headphones. I pretty much punches the power button on the screen and tore the headphones off.

 

 

 

I pressed Alt-F4, turned off the sound, and all was good. :D

I fell for the one about the Croc hunter death video :cry: starts off with a message saying something about the event, then suddenly... BAM screamer.

 

 

 

Cruel heartless bastards who make such videos on the death of such a man. then again I'm not much better for actually watching the video thus attempting to exploit his death for my own curiousity's sake. Damn it.

 

 

 

What to watch out for hints of screamers?

 

-Rather short videos (usually 15-60 seconds long)

 

-Interesting comments "look closely at the center of the screen to see the color change"

 

-controversial video titles "PRESIDENT BUSH GOES MAD! uncensored!"

 

-Comments from users that basically gives everything away "Not scary. I didn't fall for it. screamers are pointless".

 

 

 

But screamers are great fun. I personally prefer being rickrolled though. more humor.

That was my first screamer...I was over at my friends house, and they were showing me stuff on Newgrounds. I went up with my friend to his room and later his brother comes up and shows it to us...I was really ticked, :lol: . But it wasn't the worst I've had; it wasn't one that has a scary image, just an idiotic teenager screaming into his webcam. Idiots.

My last girlfriend was a pretty bad screamer....uh, wait.

 

 

 

 

 

But I think the best one was after Steve Irwin died, some guy posted it on Google Video. It was just a 30 second clip of writing in really small print explaining how this was the last footage they had of Steve Irwin before he died from the sting ray...slowly fade to black. BAM ZOMBIE SCREAMER!
