rangeor Posted April 26, 2009 Share Posted April 26, 2009 Alright, so my little brother's gotten pretty good at Brawl and I've started to have trouble beating him. Neither of us are what you would consider 'pro', but we are pretty good. We're casual players that have been playing quite frequently since the original super smash bros came out so we definitely know what we're doing in the game. My question is, which characters should I train on the most to beat him? We're pretty even skill-wise, except he mostly uses Toon Link, Pit, and Lucario and I use Sheik, Toon Link and Falco. Also, if you guys have any general tips that would be nice too :D Wow, he picks all the characters with nice projectiles, lol. I'm assuming he spams his projectiles, so I would master your falco. Actually no. He kinda does with pit, but with young link it's mostly spamming his down air, with pit it's the left/right b and with lucario it's the down b :? Your brother's a standard newb, then. :lol: TL = Spotdodge and Punish. Pit = Jump and punish Lucario = grab to punish. RayOxide Posted April 26, 2009 Share Posted April 26, 2009 Rangeor, Kent's right. Pit cant vs a good fox if fox can shorthop and shine quickly (much quicker frames than onground). Call your brother crap and beat the $^&@ out of him until he gets better. His toon link is a disgrace to all toon linkers. :lol: EDIT: I'm bored so Im using D3 lately, he's good, but recovery sucks. Dont say its good, it sucks. I also want to use yoshi a bit too, and get better with marth. Right now brawl is kinda boring so I'm using very different characters than my normal lightweight speedy chars. (Sheik, squirtle, fox. Falcon isnt lightweight really) EDIT AGAIN: Yuh, I was thinking, Charizard pwns pretty hard. I wanna see a pro PT vs a good MK or something. There's 3 jumps, and his UpB is good too, pretty ungimpable IF USED CORRECTLY because DDD has very good anti edgeguarding measures. It feel so good to just stand there still and of all a sudden your opponent attacks and you Counter. Basically, Run, Cstick down then immedietely (Or not, depending on how you want to time it. This applies to Snake) press Z and up. You can attack with your dash attack then upsmash, or just do a sliding upsmash depending on how you time it. It may have super armour frames, but it wont get him far, is easy to hit him when he loses his SA frames, and he has very slow air speed in his helpless state. I dont need a siggy no moar. I gotta thank Bowser alot though, Bowser got me into the habit of shielding and spotdodging more than rolling, now I just need Ganon to get me to shieldgrab more. For tomorrow! And a bair that has decent range and comes out very fast. That alone is enough to get back to the stage, his upb should be saved until needed. If used correctly, your DDD shouldn't be gimped.
