Was thinking of using Dual PSU's as I have two 350w's instead of buying a 600W or an 800W, but I really don't want to null all the electrical components, lol. Nor do I think I have compatible or PSU's that would actually work together. Getting the 9600GT Thursday or Friday though. :)

Though, I've read about every class on several forums/sites, and is the Assassin really implemented as a stealthy fighter, or is it a false mockery, and half worked Assassin of what it should be, like in other MMO's? Or have they really brought the depths of what an Assassin should be, or at least stands for in AoC?

Sins rock at low levels, are pretty meh unless you're really good in mid levels and are good again at 80.

Yeah, it is a huge mother [bleep]ing card, thats for sure. Especially if you got the dual slotter one.

Any FanSites out there that seem to have a good hold? I've looked through several in the pages of Google, but most are kind of below par, even though it's early for them. Just wanted to know if there's any I don't have bookmarked.

I think the AoC Vault is a pretty good one, but then again I haven't even bothered to use a fansite for conan. :P .

I've read through 20 pages of the Assassin sub-forum on the official forums, and boy it sounds like the same debate every game has about a class similar to the Assassin.

 

 

 

Underpowered, less use of stuns/knockbacks, no stamina advantages...etc.

 

 

 

Then the usual argument 'learn to play it properly', or 'Assassins aren't the ones to 1on1, they sneak and attack then hide...'

 

 

 

Really depressing to read all of that. I want to believe in Funcom actually stating that Assassins aren't underpowered to reduce the distraction of 'If I can pk this good, what else could I do on another class?'. >.>

 

 

 

As well they don't even look all that promising in PvE, it looks like they are more prominent in PvP than PvE.

 

 

 

Apparently every class outdoes the Assassin in PvE quite easily with the crowd controls/stuns.

Possibly. I didn't see any of them talk about any potions or possible buffs they may have had, which would be something to say for PvE or PvP.

 

 

 

The ones I noticed though that were being said to be underpowered/crapola were the Assassins and the Conq's. Everyone else was just below praising their class.

 

 

 

You can always read everything about the game and still not have a grasp about it.

The problem as well is that a lot of players seem to expect that their class should be exactly as they envisioned it, not even giving it a chance.

 

 

 

The second problem is that many players still have a very WoW-like mentality to PvP. This isn't meant as an insult rather then the idea that potions are taboo in PvP and the idea that most encounters are going to come down to which class vs which it is.

 

 

 

The thing is is that, with the exception of some matchups, most fights are fairly even. I don't claim that class balance is perfect, because no of course it isn't. Conq's are pretty weak in PvP -- their only role right now it seems is to act as a sort of "battle res bot" in pvp. However I still did strikingly decent on my conq in pvp (300K 200D) with my only problem being that I couldn't do any damage.

 

 

 

 

 

The other thing is that personal skill does come into play quite a bit. I've seen sin's that have not been able to DENT my HP. Hell, I've 1v2ed a sin and some other guy (conq or something) at level 45 pretty easily.

 

 

 

However there was one sin around that area that I just couldn't kill. He would burst the [bleep] out of me before I knew what to do. It really all comes down to if you're a good player or not.

 

 

 

Biggest thing to remember? The game has been out for a month, and Funcom has already done numerous balance changes to both the necro class and demontologist.

On a patch related note the new patch seems interesting. It seems as I was right before as they nerfed active blocking, which makes sense because it was pretty OP. I'll have to test it when I get home though to see if it's still worthwhile to use.

 

 

 

Oh and I'm afraid of necros now after their buffs, definitely put them on the top ring. I hope to see similar buffs as well to other classes that are doing poor. Here's to hoping for some sin and conq buffs.

The sin's apparently lost one of their largest DD's, or was reduced to 30%-50%. To me it sounds like they would be getting a revamp to some skills and some effects would be changed. Who knows.

 

 

 

A lot of the players used to play WoW, and most of the complainers are ex-WoW players as well...not all are, but most.

 

 

 

Don't know what to say about Active Block as far as they fixed that animation by-pass thing.

 

 

 

As well it looks like a lot of other classes just got buffed.

Anyways I love the reference the director of AoC makes, comparing Wow and Aoc to Mcdonalds and Steak, and then what Blizzard says that the steak (AoC) was served undercooked (with three links to back it up).

Fun. Definitly take your time playing the game, enjoy PvP and all of that. A lot of the people who are disatisfied with the game are those who rushed to 80 and then QQ about no content.

Anyways my ToS is level 66 almost 67 atm. Been helping out level two friends, a lvl 35 and a lvl 57. All 3 of us (all of us are healers) just went to Aztal's Approach and I started AoEing mobs with them under apprentice.

 

 

 

Well in like an hour and a half the lvl 35 PoM got up to 40 and the lvl 57 BS got like near 59. I also got nearly a level during the entire thing. :thumbup:

Question. Me an my friends (we are all level 45-51) are looking for instances to run. Mainly for gear but also just to do it. Would like something with the choice of Epic or Normal if possible. We just did the one in Potain today with a level 45 Bear Shaman, 45 Barb, and a level 50 DT was hella fun. Where should we go? Any ideas?

 

 

 

All we ever to get is caster cloth crap. And while its fun slaving though really hard instances with 3 people we like rewards...

I know what you mean to take my time leveling, Friday I made friends with this level 7, currently he's level 27 and still has a hard time moving around, or casting spells apparently, and is constantly asking for basic information that was learned in the beginning, like the first 1-10 levels.

 

 

 

Btw excellent commit on there, I indeed see that Krics enjoyed it. ^_^

 

 

 

The respawn rates are horrible for quick exp for the Destiny Quests. >.>

45-51 there aren't many options. You could try troidbarch's tomb in Field of the dead, but the last boss might prove to be a [bleep].

 

 

 

Once you guys get up a little higher as well you can always choose to grind at cannibal caves normal or epic.

Yeah taking your time is the way to go. You'll end up a lot better then the guys who power level themselves. :thumbup:
