InkofDeath
Oh, forgot a few things. Warehouse, banks...uh where? Any in Tortage cause I hate having to sell things to make room, lol. I don't know if I missed the tutorial on it or whatever, but what are they called in AoC? Money. I've seen on the forums people saying that by level 40 you should have 3-4 silver or gold? Which one was it? I've got 8 silver already at level 15, so I'm gonna go with gold right?
Nadril
Neither. You should have 3g by like 57 or so. Oh and [Trader]'s are the bank/AH.

Sounds like an awesome game... sadly, I probably won't be able to get it for quite a while. :x 99 HP, Attack, Strength, Defence, Summoning, Ranged, Herblore, Prayer, Agility, Magic, Slayer, Fletching, Fishing, Woodcutting, Mining, and Thieving. Nadril
Kill count is at 170, deaths is 40... : Level 18 and going to sleep. Nice. My ToS is at 493/180 or so right now. I've been doing a ton of group PvP ( 6v6 ) in leveling areas and have been trying to take on really difficult Pvp matches so I've died a good bit. Still I'm pretty happy about it. Also, there is a new patching schedule to where we will have 1, larger, patch on Wensdays. With the inclusion of the new test server we should see much more concise and complete patch notes and much much less bugs getting introduced into the game. PvP Review: Speaking of PvP, I've experienced a ton of real group PvP the past few days. See, a lot of the "major" leveling spots (grant the best XP) are fairly small in size. What this means is that, while there are multiple instances, chances are you're going to have to fight for a spot. However the fun ramps up when you realize that people would be crazy to do this place with no less than 4 or 5 players. Generally a full group, 6 players, comes here. Because of this I have gotten the most 6v6 group PvP in any game I have ever played. Hell man, I don't even think in a battleground in WoW groups were this determained. Unlike some group PvP that happens in WoW, often by an instance stone, it usually ends with the "losing group" running into the instance like a bunch of [kitties]. There is no, absolutly no, recoil or consequence for them to lose control of the meeting stone and as such the PvP suffers. However in Conan you're looking at a situation where, if your group doesn't go, you're going to have to find some solo quests or (if they're all exhausted) solo grind. Because of this PvP gets really damn intense and players are generally at the top of their game. And really, Age of Conan serves its self very well for group PvP. The idea to make almost all of the healing in the game HoT based, save for a few big heal CD's, really makes the game that much better. And, unlike some games, the PvP encounters take some real group dynamic and skill. The key, of course, is learning what to focus on. While usually most will focus on the healer because of the HoT idea in this game players may be better off bursting a high DPS, low def, target. Of course this all depends on so many factors, it's silly to put it down to one simple procedure. Conan does a very good job of making sure that "team X" doesn't have a skill set that will demolish "team Y" and it really does reward thinking a bit outside of the box for groups. While the general healer/DPS/CC or whatever combo does work well, there is no reason why other team matchups won't work as well. Likewise, as I said before, skill is a huge factor. The other night I was PvPing with 3 other guildies, a 40 PoM , 66 Conq, 74 barb and me, a 69 ToS. We were all apped up to level 73 from the barb, so our damage output was (obviously) higher. However the funny thing is that, especially the level 40, your HP really does not go up much at all. So we're PvPing with a squishy PoM, who does not have near all of his utility yet, and a 66 conq. We go up against another full group of players who had a healer who was ~50 apped up to 74. Well, all the rest of them were 75 and we managed to win. Yeah, 4v6 and we had 2 lowbies. Hell, I was fairly low as well -- missing out on some key skills @70. Skill really helped us edge out the fight, and reactions had something to do with it too I think. I really do shudder to think that, if 6v6 is this much fun, what 48v48 will be like. Or, say in the future, what 100v100 may be like. And, yes, Funcom has stated that there will be Alliance sieges in the game with a much larger cap. Really if Funcom just gets the game optimized more to suit a 48v48 encounter PvP will be [bleep]ing golden here. ---- Anyways, I'm like 7 bars away from level 70. Somehow managed to get 60-69 in a [bleep]ing weekend (with sat having power out from like 8pm to the next morning). Funny thing is I spent a lot of time helping out guildies and doing other stuff (playing Rock Band a lot with brother/sister)

Funny thing is I spent a lot of time helping out guildies and doing other stuff (playing Rock Band a lot with brother/sister) Thats what i love about AoC. The HoT heals are great. It gives much more flexibility to healers and makes it so its not a continuous pressing of 1 button the whole fight to spam heals. Also this game, at least in the lower levels is definitely not gear based. Though it plays some part, it all comes down to who is smarter with their combos, active blocking, where they strike, etc. Its in depth. Where as in WoW if it was Tier 3 against Tier 1, the Tier 3 wins every time.
Nadril
I enjoy that too. Sure, gear from what I understand can help once you get epics @ 80, but it's not something that is going to decide most matches either like WoW. The HoT system really was brilliant though. I know a lot of people in PvP beta (cap of 20) were really afraid of it. However it turned out to work out incredible. Because my heals are HoT based I don't have to SPAM HEAL LOL and instead can actually DPS. Imagine that, a hybrid based class that plays like a hybrid! Plus, as I said before, group PvP is a much more fun experience with HoTs. The big thing as well is that the cone AoE HoT (bigger one) doesn't stack save for other classes, so healing doesn't get overpowered. Plus each classes "big heal" has their own little debuff CD that is placed on a player, so they can only get a big heal each minute. It's great. InkofDeath
I noticed the HoTs and to be honest it took a bit to get used to, but it's definitely a useful healing technique but not going to be a deciding factor so much as it is in other games. I finally got off of Tortage, and one of the first things I saw was a 3vs4 or so I think it was, it was 7 people bashing around at each other, it was quite exciting to watch. I can only imagine what a 48vs48 would be like...4 FPS. :wall:
Kriegsmier
Anyone else get the feel that AoC is the more upscale, mature MMO out these days? Sure it has bad apples playing but for the most part it doesn't seem to attract young kids. I guess because you can auto attack afk. Theres just no LOLSAUCE PWNED! going on. Its nice. InkofDeath
I noticed that. There's no leet speak, abbreviations like pwned, or owned after killing someone, and there's no real insults going on, more like under the table insults... It's quite nice lol. Joined a guild called Malfunction has like 78 members or something, they are pretty good if you ask me, they are extremely helpful and have given some awesome PvP tips. Whats funny is not going to get a quest reward, and then getting 20 quest rewards and leveling three times within 25 minutes. Everyone goes 'what the heck did you do, how did you level so fast!?!?'. Much fun.

Vidi
I'm in The Covenant on Dagon EU... Around 320 unique members at the moment. As for bags, the cheapest holds 8 slots I think and is about 50c. I'm loving Bear Shaman atm, level 42 on mine, it's rather hard in tortage but when you hit 25+ it's really easy as your HoT's out heal the mobs DPS most of the time. Giving me something to do while my guild gets more level 80's so we can raid, my 80 is only useful for farming cash atm.. I'm in [The Family Buisness] which is made up of members from Burning Blade on WoW (so I knew a lot of people there already). Vidi
I know people love PvP in RPG's.. But IMO, if I wanted to PvP I'd go play TF2.
