Noobs (from what Ive seen) make terrible soldiers, because they cant rocket jump decent and they just try and actually hit the guy.

I've seen that before. What's it mean?

 

You use the "W" key to move forward and then "Mouse button 1" or M1 to use your flamethrower. Basically you run in and press on the trigger and you get kills with no skill whatsoever.

 

 

 

Rocket jumping is KEY for soldier. If you can't do that you're not going to be an effective one. Now that I learned how to rocket jump properly (took me a while...) I'm a much better soldier than before.

Rocco, whats wrong with using Rockband mic? From what I've recorded it actually sounds really clear, and when I use it people always understand what I'm saying. It's far better than text chat.

As constantly said, most pyros are just w +m1. They are boring to play against and terrible to play with.

 

 

 

My 2 biggest hates in the game are both pyro related. Pyros who don't spycheck, and pyros who don't airblast teammates.

I've been playing a lot of pyro recently, and if you learn how to airblast you can be awesome. Like if i can't win a fight, airblast em away and get a quick flare gun mini crit while running away. Also had a reflect rocket double kill on the soldier who shot the rocket and a cloaked spy walking by. Was epic. And i finally got the achievement for killing a soldier with his own crocket. Owned by his own kritzkrieg :twisted:

Well yes, but thats how everything in this game ends.

 

 

 

As was said, the pyro is awesome if you learn the tactics (yes, pyro has tactics), and it is possible to suck as the pyro.

If you're planning on a defensive offense, aka ambush little kart, then use the backburner. This could be prevented if they would have someone face backwards, but most of the time they dont. Even if someone does face back, you can usually just W+M1 them, whilie getting supercrits on the rest.

Unless your sole tactic is hiding behind a wall or something until the cart passes by, the backburner blows. Actually, it doesn't even blow, and that's what sucks. And there's not even many places where you can get the jump on the cart like that. Maybe the first cap on Badwater, in the tunnel, the bend in Goldrush St.2, and a room in Goldrush St.3 (which is usually cleared out), but that's pretty much all.

 

 

 

And if that is your sole tactic, you should be playing a different class. Hopefully you are.

Not to mention a spy is a billion times better at doing an "ambush" from behind on a cart than a backburner pyro is. A pyro would run in there burn some people and get noticed quickly. If they have a pyro on their team who is good or a sniper they'll just put the people on the cart out.

 

 

 

A spy can get there a lot easier behind them and then stab a number of targets, especially if they aren't really spychecking. I've gotten up to 7 stabs before in a row just from going behind a cart when they aren't paying attention. Good luck getting a pyro to do that.

I didn't ever say I used the Backburner. I mainly play offense on 2fort with the Pyro, and the flamethrower is a must if they have soldiers.

 

 

 

And this is one of the main things about TF2. Not just for pyro, you can try and say one weapon if better than another for ANY class, but it all comes down to your playstyle.

I haven't found any of that sort of thing. Hell, on half of the servers I join I get quite a decent conversation.

Well that depends. If you play on consoles, then stay far away. The console community is actually alright, but the game itself is just awful on there.

 

 

 

If you're getting on PC, the community is usually pretty good, and it's fully worth the money. From what I've seen, the 12 year olds are better than some of the older guys :lol: Some people rage ALOT over the mic.

 

 

 

Afterthought: Am I the only one that actually prefers the Scattergun to the Force-A-Nature?

Now you're just being an [wagon], it's a legitimate weapon with a legitimate purpose. Though I think the flamethrower is useful in more situations, completely cutting out the backburner would make cart ambushing much harder. It's stupid to say that the backburner is completely useless, though there are only a few situations where you should switch to it. I think that the only reason I use the flamethrower myself is because it's fun to completely ruin enemy medics ubers :lol:

Wow, this game takes so long to load up. How does one fix this? Also it lags a lot during explosions, but it's pretty cool.

 

 

 

I'd try lowering your graphics settings a bit. Seems like you're getting fps lag.

I really like the community. Now and then (depending on the server you play on) you might get a kid, but at least on my server they usually are ridiculed and then banned. Then again my server is one where "porn sprays are encouraged" so it's not like it is a bunch of scholarly people playing either. :P
