July 3, 200818 yr Is there any way to get the RuneScape HD on Full Screen in a window? I unlike some other people I'm sure here would like Full Screen but would like to multi task as well.
July 3, 200818 yr I highly doubt it. There's certainly not any legal ways of doing it. To hell with humanity; The more I see, the less I believe.

That said, I'm not sure how, but I'm quite sure it's possible. Join "DG Sweepers" Clan Chat for Dungeoneering Floors | Accepting all tipiters who are Willing to Learn |

Legal, as in within Jagex's rules. :P I expect the only way to do it is by fiddling with things you shouldn't be, thus against the rules. Although, with that said, that could breach over into "illegal" in real world terms too if you're reverse engineering their client or something. To hell with humanity; The more I see, the less I believe.
July 3, 200818 yr On the contrary, the only thing you'd need to do would be on the level of your own computer. Say I figure out how to make a small window which acts exactly as my desktop does, but is only 800x600 pixels. Then I open up Runescape using the normal client, switch to fullscreen, and it stays within my window. Nothing remotely illegal about that. July 3, 200818 yr That's true; I was thinking along the linesof running a modified client, but that works too. :P If such a method did exist I'd be interested to know Jagex's stance on it. I certainly can't think of any rules it would breach, but you know how picky Jagex can be at times. To hell with humanity; The more I see, the less I believe.
July 3, 200818 yr Perhaps if you modify openGL to not change your resolution of the screen, but the resolution of its window instead. Perhaps somewhere in the Java vars 99 Crafting :: 39,750th || 99 Attack :: 1,775th

It's similar to the time they banned SwiftSwitch- Yeah, good for you, but unless I'm doing something actually wrong you can't tell that I'm not just using IE. Perhaps if you modify openGL to not change your resolution of the screen, but the resolution of its window instead. Yeah, that's what I was thinking. I don't know nearly enough about modifying openGL to actually try it though. Join "DG Sweepers" Clan Chat for Dungeoneering Floors | Accepting all tipiters who are Willing to Learn |
July 3, 200818 yr there should have been a higher res window mode available, gonna suggest it for when they beta ends DeviantARt - http://brammy7.deviantart.com/
July 3, 200818 yr i doubt it since fullscreen is a seperate "window"(has a seperate square thing down on the bar at the bottom of the screen)and when that window loses focus it closes so if they wanted it to be in a window they could just have it not close when its minimized. Doing random stuff on runescape. Always happy to have a random conversation, just pm me.It looks like a puke covered dragon face that is screamingThanks Unoalexi for my awesome avatar!

July 3, 200818 yr Could you try minimizing it and then right click and say "resize"? Alt+Esc minimizes all windows, fullscreen or not. At least you could minimize it, then do what you want to do and restore it. ~Tbh, I have no idea whether this will work, just an idea :P Thanks to Uno for the awsome sig <3
July 3, 200818 yr I think it needs to not auto close. Id like to alt-tab while playing, even tho I can resume fullscreen, I cant see my messages (which dont pop up for some reason when fullscreen is on) and its a pain and not even worth it to resume only to "guess" when the next message is and respond. 99 Crafting :: 39,750th || 99 Attack :: 1,775th
July 3, 200818 yr The only problem with full screen though, is that it would automatically close the second another window becomes active, regardless of whether or not it is windowed. However, if that problem can somehow be eliminated...you could set up 2 monitors and us it that way. ~Dan : 1437 : 173Lowest Combat to 1,000 Total in F2P (23 Combat)Check me out on YouTube!
July 3, 200818 yr I personally woudl love a bigger screen area but still windowed.. Wonder if Jagex can do it? The following statement is true. The previous statement is false. 60% of all statistics are made up 90% of the time andrew i love you & want you to have my babys!!! Finally, I get to save the Earth with deadly lasers instead of deadly slide shows!
July 3, 200818 yr I use 2 monitors and its a real pain that every time i click on a window in the second monitor it Auto sizes back to normal. "Boredom got me playing, Boredom stops me from playing. It's a vicious cycle."
July 3, 200818 yr Perhaps if you modify openGL to not change your resolution of the screen, but the resolution of its window instead. Perhaps somewhere in the Java vars I'll take a look and if I can work it out I'll post a guide. [-- DYNAMIC SIGNATURES FOR RUNESCAPE 3 & OLDSCHOOL 2007 RUNESCAPE --]
July 3, 200818 yr I use 2 monitors and its a real pain that every time i click on a window in the second monitor it Auto sizes back to normal. that is because when the fullscreen rs loses window focus it closes, i am not sure why jagex did it this way but there is some reason they did. so if you can get some program or something that fakes a window having focus then you can use 2 monitors without the fullscreen closing. July 3, 200818 yr Author I personally woudl love a bigger screen area but still windowed.. Wonder if Jagex can do it? If Blizzard can, Jagex can.
July 3, 200818 yr Can they do it? Probably. Should they? In my opinion, no. I think it's a benefit that you should actually pay attention to the game your playing if you want to use full screen mode... Want to learn to Nex? The Nex Hunters are recruiting! Click for more information!
July 3, 200818 yr ^ You can enjoy the ingame chat if you want but I prefer something more clever. They really should make a bigger window version, full screen window which wont matter if it loses focus. Yesterday I pressed the calc on my keyboard and I forgot it ganna have to take me out of full screen an that.. Bit silly really. Just needs a full screen window so you can use other windows while you play. They didnt have' to design it the way they did. I would love to enjoy full screen but alot of the time you cant and its more hassle. The layout is alot nicer in full screen though. July 3, 200818 yr Jagex have to do it, we can't, it's inside their .jar files. I guess I could download their .jar files, deobfuscate it and then upload it, but then you'd be playing on a "modified client" so it'd be a bannable offence, even though they can't tell if you're using one, but it's not worth the risk :( [-- DYNAMIC SIGNATURES FOR RUNESCAPE 3 & OLDSCHOOL 2007 RUNESCAPE --]

So you are assuming that people who multi task don't pay attention to the game? That is wrong, I multi task and I pay attention and KNOW what I'm doing at all times on game.

The run like an application on your natural computer, but are open like a window, and you can access and install/uninstall do anything you would to a normal computer in that window and not worry about it messing up your computer.
