Actually in most games free playing is either very limited or has some sort of catch.

 

 

 

Take the popular game Adventurequest for example. If you're a free player, then you get a certain number of free logins and then you have to wait for the server to not be full. Which is almost never. It's either pay or get out.Gaurdians, the equivalent of members in this game, can log in whenever they please. F2p people in runescape get to log in whenever they please and have no trial. They can not pay for 7 years if they want to. F2p get too much as is.

But as more updates have become F2P they've now come to EXPECT them, so I think jagex should tone it down a bit, like my parents have noticed with their business, they give lollies/chocolates to customers in their envelopes with their bills so they can have a treat while paying us, but as soon as summer came and chocolates started melting and lollies were getting sticky, we stopped, and we got angry customers, some even QUITTING because of it.

 

 

 

Now that is just rediculous, you see, customers QUITTING because they don't get their lolly? How SAD is that. The same applies to the staff too, now bosses don't HAVE to give their staff presents for their birthday, or a jet-ski ride with fish and chips as a treat every Friday, but my mum and dad do those things - and now they've come to EXPECT it, not taking into account the money for petrol, fish and chips and birthday presents (usually cologne which costs my mum about $120 per staff member) I think you get my point. You give them an update, they complain and ask for more. NO PAY = NO UPDATES. It's only fair.

Disregarding other games, but making an even better point here. Funorb is owned by Jagex. For you to play full screen on Funorb you need to pay 3 dollars a month. This supports the assumption that it will be the same here.

A bit out of topic, regarding other games. If Jagex has quite a bit restrictions on graphic, it's just bad way of acting.

f2p might get hd, but they definately wont get fs because this would prevent them from seeing adds, which is the only reason they can have a f2p. Sorry if u want fs just mow a lawn once a month, trust me fs is worth it :

I agree, some updates they DO need because it effects all of us, like the grand exchange, and I think it was good that they got the party room too as that is a big part of RS, I guess I just hate it when they ask for more things because they're not supporting Jagex and the updates. I understand where you're coming from :D

 

 

 

I also think they'll get the graphics, but I don't understand how they're allowed full screen (heard somewhere they are getting it for sure) when they need to have the advertisements so Jagex get supported by them, unless of course the full screen mode has advertisements on it but I don't think that'll happen :?

im f2p currently and i dont think jagex is obligated to give us updates. If anyone reads the whole news article or the HD FAQ, they can see we will eventually get HD. We wont get fullscreen cause of ads, but we will get HD. /thread 8-)

Well, F2P is like getting a "taste" of members. So I could see Jagex at least giving a little bit of the new content so people would want to get members for the rest.

I think F2P will get the entire HD experience including fullscreen. Currently F2P players are able to start the client to check compatibility with display options and full screen. Why would they allow this if they weren't planning on giving F2P full screen mode as well?

No Member would quit because of F2P getting updates. Lets Put this into perspective shall we, 20k autoers were in rs (about), Yew logs went up 50-100gp, an average of 75gp. Now try 500k+ people who cut yews and sell in F2P, thats about a 12.5k-25k price rise. No more alching yew longs. Must I continue here.

Your mum does not buy the cologne for jagex. Yes, Jagex is a real nice company for giving presents but the workers don't expect them. They also play Paintball over at Andrew's house. We do not we ask for nothing. All the new players that only care about the content ask.

Pat_61, you have a warped sense of payment if you think telling your friends to try RuneScape is equal to making a monthly payment with actual money to a company. And honestly WHEN was the last time you clicked an ad above the game? Those companies pay Jagex just for peple to see the ad, not just to click them. If payment was the same as telling a friend to play a game, I'd have 5 more dollars to spend a month. Shredded. OT, HD yes, FS no.

If you are a free player, you can expect to be playing RuneScape HD as soon as the Beta period is over.
