One of the most valuable lessons that RS society has to teach: you will always be a noob to somebody. Take Zezima or any other top player. Considered by so many as a half-god, even he is called a noob on a regular basis.

There was an old legend that you stopped being a "Noob" at level 40 in Non-Members, and level 70 in Members, but that is complete crap.

As about 3 people have already said:

Noob isnt a level, its a personality

My relaxation method involves a bottle of lotion, beautiful women, and partial nudity. Yes I get massages.

this is also why there is such a big difference between: noob and newb (newbe)

Your friend might be asking: when do you stop being a newbe...any good answer to that? anyone?

Noob and newb are the same thing. Noob in the 1337-Speak version of it however, as it is much faster to type than newb.

Probably more so honestly.

But there are levels where people will generally give you more respect just by that knowledge. F2p I'd say 70ish+ and P2p 100+ will get you generally alot more respect from the general crowd of runescape.

Course theres always those special someones who think they're better and that your a noob.

Not really, noob is more the personality, and newbie is someone who is new to the game. You can have played the game for 8 years and still be a noob.

I think most people who ask that question are really asking what level they stop being a 'newb'. Noob and newb are completely different things. Noob is a disgusting term, usually used to discribed immature people. Newb, on the other hand, is generally a non-offensive term used to describe somebody who is new to the game, and has little knowledge of it.

As for the original question, the answer is different in everybody's eyes. There really isn't an answer.

Once again, as a few other people have said, 'noob' isn't a level, it's a personality. If you're a level 138 with a bgs and full dragon, but you strut around as if you own Runescape and everybody else is insignificant, then you are definitely a noob (though that doesn't usually happen ;))

Consequently, if you are a low level, maybe 20-some, but you are very kind and like to help other people out, only people that are noobs themselves would call you noobish.

Noob isn't a level it is an attitude. U shouldn't be bothered if u r a noob to another person or not. ur r a noob for being lower leveled than somebody and u r a noob for being a no-lifer by having a higher level then them. just tell him to ignore these ppl.

Noob isn't and level it's a personality/aditude

I hate that to be honest. I don't think we should be degrading each other with the same insult that most of us use to describe lower leveled players. It just gets anoying when people start spaming "noob" at each other because they are fustrated with each other. I still and always will use noob for it's proper use of describing a new player. I have other more fitting insults for when I have problems with other players personalities or atidudes.

To awnser your question, I would say that in my mind a player is no longer a noob when they can play the game to a reasonable extent with out depending on other players for help.

Does it really matter whether I was right? #-o
This is Tipit. There is nothing more important than being right.

Common sense is nothing more than a deposit of prejudices laid down in the mind before you reach eighteen.

As has been said above, noob is an attitude, not a level. I have seen people leveled 120+ that act noobier then people at level 3.

Next time, please use the search function on the forums before making a new topic. There have been several topics on this same subject.

lol actually a typist would find newb easier to type: doing 2 the same letters after each other is considered to be "slow": you have to wait for the fist letter to go up again.

First they came to fishing

and I didn't speak out because I wasn't fishing

Then they came to the yews

and I didn't speak out because I didn't cut yews

Then they came for the ores

and I didn't speak out because I didn't collect ores

Then they came for me

and there was no one left to speak out for me.

Basically the average Runescaper works on this logic, if they're a lower level than you they're noob, if they're higher they're a no-lifer.

Seriously though, noob is attitude, not level.
