Well, seeing that post, I'm thinking that the forums should take a "PG-13" stature as users should be 13. I mean, if the forums turn into the RuneScape Official Forums, I'll scream.

Just don't go overboard with the censorship and say that topics about sexual orientation, GLBT (gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender) related topics (discrimination awareness and social equality and marriage equality), topics on what we believe, etc. should be censored. This is not a Christian forum. It is religiously neutral. Some people may find homosexuality or transpeople "disgusting" due to "religious" reasons. Really count those people for who they are: intolerant. Of course we shouldn't talk about sexual acts and the like, but talking about sexuality isn't exclusively about "having sex." Sexual preference (as in attraction, not talk about sexual positions) is okay, but talking about what you did last night with your partner is not anyone's business but between the two consenting partners only.

 

 

 

Anyway how far will the censorship on words go?

 

 

 

As far as religious tolerance goes, use the Witches Code, as I call it: 'Harm none.' It's a basic Wiccan principle that is relevant to how far we go with religious tolerance. If it violates that, I don't think anyone should be not allowed to say something negative about that religious belief that harms someone, whether it be harassment, any kind of abuse, or violence.

Allow the funny picture thread but be more ban-happy?

 

Why should we give people who can't be trusted a place to post the pictures? Bans or not, it will only cause problems with having a thread. Sure, a lot of the pictures are funny, but quite a few tend to be 'distasteful'. Would make sense to just not allowed such a thread, and prevent people from making fools of themselves and receiving a ban.

well i can understand the "Clean Up" but i personally wouldnt mind seeing a funny pictures thread as long as it didnt infringe with things like racism, adult content and whatnot. though i will admit i couldnt help myself buy post 1 silly remark to be edited in "Alone" thread but now that silly moment is over im over it. : course if we knew the average TIF user's age we MIGHT have been abe to see our limits. (if only the rollback didnt kill my calculations. -.- )

Totally wrong. Very rarely does someone actually post Child Porn on there, and if they do, they are almost instantly banned and the FBI is given the IP address and the post is removed. Everyone has this idea of pedos simply cause of all the loli that is on there. There are other sites that are password protected and those are where the pedos go to.

You're failing to comprehend the deeper issue here. It's not just a case of what you feel you're entitled to.

 

 

 

Tip.It is run completely by volunteers. I don't receive any reward for the work I put into my Tip.It Crew work, likewise, mods don't receive anything for theirs. You wouldn't dare go on to the Website Discussion board and demand we on the Crew do more work so you can have more liberalism on the main site. Why should you feel entitled to do the same with moderators?

 

 

 

They're not your slaves, and it's their free time being spent purging these threads, not yours. If they feel a thread is more work for them than it's worth, they should have the right to just lock the topic and ban all discussion on it. The logical alternative is that the admins hire professional moderators, and then they put a membership fee on the site to pay for their wages - which is presumably completely out of the question (NOTE: My Tip.It Staff status has no bearing on that opinion. I know as much about the admins' and mods' affairs as you do).

 

 

 

People abused their privileges when those threads were open. It wouldn't be any different now - it would just mean more work for the mods, which is unfair.

Very true, but as far as I'm concerned, if it doesn't follow the 18 U.S.C., it's suspicious to say the very least. At the end of the day, you can't tell the difference between an 18 year old, or a 16 year old who's matured early. A picture doesn't give any information about whether the woman was forced into pornography against her will either.

 

 

 

If people are gonna view porn (not something I necessarily oppose), at least make sure it's a legal site with a reputation for only hiring legit models. 4chan certainly doesn't fit that bill.

I used to read ED a lot, and read a lot of the history about all the chans, and that was one of the things I read about. I will honestly say, I have not and will never try to gain access to that site.
