Well, I went to see my English teacher yesterday, to evaluate my grades; what my results were in the "nationella proven" (it's the equivalent to your GCSE:s and SAT:s etc. Like, a huge final exam you have in the major subjects at the end of each schoolyear). And here's what my results were:

Reading & Listening Exercise: MVG.

Essay Exercise: MVG.

Oral Exercise: MVG.

Final grade: MVG.

MVG is the equivalent of an 'A'. :)

In three years, I've gone from an average G+ (your C) student, to a, more or less, (at least according to my teacher) flawless A student, in english. :)

Soo, the reason why I'm posting it here is, well, obviously to boast about it to people who probably don't give a crap, but also because I seriously doubt I would have gotten that grade had it not been for RuneScape and for this forum. So... many thanks to you for helping me up my english grade. :D

grats :) was this ḫ̦̉̉gstadiet? not that it matters, but if it was, I do hope you've chosen to do Naturvetenskap on Gymnasiet ;)

Gratz, i got the same results in the gymnasie.. and Korla, Naturvetenskap is only for pluggisar

Thanks! :)

Limpbizkid, well, we're all strong at different things. Myself, I would offer my pinky to be good at maths. I only passed that one with about 5 points. I seriously didn't think I would pass it at all though, and that can never be a good thing. :P

Korla, you're a swede? Anyway, I'm in my first year at Gymnasiet (similar to High School). And my alignement is sorta' like Naturvetenskap. It's a mixture, really, of several alignements. It's hard to explain, since I don't really know myself. :P

So yeah, I have MVG in the English A course, and that can't be changed, so it feels pretty good. :)

Well done, I wish I could get A's. In my GCSEs (2 years ago) I took 12, passed them all, but only got 2 A's (most in my class/friends got at least 5. One girl got straight A*. I hate her  ), the rest were Bs. but at least I can keep the Bs consistent, as I need 3 of them to get the University I want to go to.

Goals to get my skills back up to a barely respectable level on the high scores:

Currently going for Bone to Peaches spell. It's amazing how boring doing the same repetitive task is! Stupid MTA

Good job. I've got my provincial math exam coming up and im honestly going to sh*t my pants over it. Next years going to be even worse cause im taking pre-cal then calculus. It's not that I'm not good at math, its just from what I've heard over the past years, its not going to be easy.

The problem with the gene pool is that there's no lifeguard.

Go Azvy, go Azvy! static.gif Well done, Azvy!. thumbsup.gif Keep em comming.

Before I joined ScapeBoard, my english reading/talking/writing skills used to be as good as my Zimbabwian reading/talking/writing skills. :P

That's good to hear :) I went to school with a Swede (from Pitea, a with the two dot things on it), and he said that he was terrible in English class, but at the end of the year he was considered bilingual... so practise makes perfect!

nice job, belive me, you did so much better than I did

Awesome, good job man! Just adds another benefit to why runescape and online forums such as tip is are so great! :D

Well done ^-^ I also took the same test as you this year and got the same results.

Oh btw, which topic did you choose for the essay?

Thanks for the sig, Runesmithie :)

Congratulations!

It get's better though, because the national tests for English B are almost identical to those of English A. In other words, you'll have a great opportunity for a top score next year too :)

Wow i was born speaking english and i have a C in that class.... then again i have a C in the forgein language im taking too(latin :( ) so apperently im not much of a linguist...

Thanks a lot everyone. :)

Zippi, congratulations to you too! :D

I chose the one where you were supposed to write about an item you treasure. And, well... in lack of any creativity whatsoever, I wrote about the first metal album I ever got, hehe. But I ended up writing around 5 pages, so I figured it was OK. :)

How about you?

Pyro, that sounds great! I'm almost looking forward to it.

It's bright, and blue, and shimmering

Grinning wide

And comforting me with it's three warm and wild eyes

Thanks and cool :D How long time did you guys have to write the essay? 1 hour and 20 mins? Cause 5 pages is a lot in 80 mins :o

I chose the same topic and wrote about my computer :P

Oh, and thanks to you too, Bubsa ^-^

Cool. most people I've talked with picked the same topic. :)

Yeah, it was 80 minutes. However, the essay I wrote didn't turn out like I wanted it to. And it was due to the can of Pepsi I had just before the exam started -- so I basically spent the last 30 minutes feeling like a balloon that was about to explode, while trying to write a good essay. :P

So I basically doodled down the last bit of the essay, turned it in, and rushed off to the you-know-what. Ah, the joy!

So, yeah... - moral: soda before exam = never good.
