July 24, 200817 yr Seeing as how everyone spends time fantasizing about that one day when they win the lottery or become a pro athlete, heres a topic for you. If you had $1000 or as much money as you want what would be the first thing you would buy?? Me, I would buy a big pool for those long hot summer days.
July 24, 200817 yr Well I do have some money as I have a savings bond that matures next month (when I turn 21), I'm using it for driving lessons. However, if I won the lottery though, I'd build a big house to my exact specification (it would have to have a club, a football pitch and a big cinema room) and an Aston Martin. After buying those and giving some to my family, I'd just use it to enjoy life - good food, plenty of holidays etc. He who learns must suffer, and, even in our sleep, pain that cannot forget falls drop by drop upon the heart, and in our own despair, against our will, comes wisdom to us by the awful grace of God. - Aeschylus (525 BC - 456 BC)
July 24, 200817 yr Well, I would use it as financing for my army. It gets kinda expensive. Command the Murderous Chalices! Drink ye harpooners! drink and swear, ye men that man the deathful whaleboat's bow- Death to Moby Dick!BLOOD FOR THE BLOOD GOD! SKULLS FOR THE SKULL THRONE!

July 24, 200817 yr Well, I would use it as financing for my army. It gets kinda expensive. Only you...*shakes head* I'd probably just save it, then spend it on a bunch of state of the art gadgets etc. But first...a new wallet to hold all my cash :
July 24, 200817 yr If you had $1000? What kind of crazy scenario is that. $1000 is basically nothing.
July 24, 200817 yr If you had $1000? What kind of crazy scenario is that. $1000 is basically nothing. It's not nothing. Maybe to you, but to the general public, they're rather have the $1000 over nothing.
July 24, 200817 yr I'd put it in a bank, then hire a technician to download a DVD converter for me, buy all my favourite films and put them on my iPod. I'd buy a really nice purple/dark blue armchair, we're kinda redecorating at the mo. And then I'd get a plane ticket to somewhere north so I could see the Northern Lights <3:

Maybe to you, but to the general public, they're rather have the $1000 over nothing. But having an extra grand that doesn't fit into the budget isn't exactly a whole lot of money, and not nearly enough to get giddy over and start dreaming of things to buy. Last.fm Signature Overlays
July 24, 200817 yr If I had $1000, I wouldn't even be able to pay for a month's mortgage :P If I had $10,000,000 - I would invest it and live off of the interest for the rest of my life. Approximately $100k/year after tax and inflation. For it is the greyness of dusk that reigns. The time when the living and the dead exist as one.
July 24, 200817 yr Books and Classic Movies. Buying a book is the best investment you can make. You're investing in knowledge which, in turn, can provide you an endless supply of everything else in the world. July 24, 200817 yr I would save it up to about 10grand. Use some of it to buy a rusty, old Chevy Camerro. Then I'd take it to the best auto place around. Put a nice Hemi engine in it  Then, I put a big scoop on the hood, put a sunroof in the top and make the car a nice redish, blackish color. Then put a spoiler that suits it and put 24s in teh back and 20s in the front :D Put nice bucket seats in with red/black color scheme. That is what I would do 8-) League of Legends Referal link: http://signup.leagueoflegends.com/?ref=4e55a571778d2633364408"Life is short, and shortly it will end, Death comes quickly which respects no one, Death destroys everything and takes pity on no one"Drops: 8whips, 28dboots, 1hand cannon, 2 dmeds 3dskirts 2 dbows99s(in order): Attack Constitution Defence
July 24, 200817 yr I'd realise its only around £500-£600, and chuck it in the bank with the £2000. Denizen of Darkness| PSN= sworddude198

July 24, 200817 yr ^^ugh we have interwebz now. Nobody needs books for info If I had $1,000? BANK If I had $1,000,000? Pay off my parent's mortgage, BUNCH OF VIDEO GAMES....the BANK If I had $1,000,000,000? Majority in bank, invest in some kick-[wagon] longterm stocks, everything I ever wanted, then anti-depressants when I realize material possesions don't make me happy If I had $1,000,000,000,000? July 24, 200817 yr A memorystick to my cellphone... maybe some CDs? I'd probably save the rest and gradually end up spending all of it on alcohol. Alternatively:

July 24, 200817 yr An unlimited amount of cash? Easy. Buy out Hollywood and remove the power from those corperate producers and give it to the directors, writers, etc. Then sustain a normal house and buy some nice things as time goes on. Create films since I bloody own the industry, and never have to worry about anything else again. \ "The cry of the poor is not always just, but if you never hear it you'll never know what justice is."

What the hell was the point of writing $1000 then if you are just going to say as much as you want anyways?
July 24, 200817 yr lol... $1000. put it with the rest of my money. If forced to spend it, theres at lot of useless things on thinkgeek.com that I'd like to get.
July 24, 200817 yr I would pay off my car, go to flying school, have the party of the year and invest most of the rest in a house.
July 24, 200817 yr I got plenty of $1000's and I'll tell you they wont take you far... Think.. Just the cost of living for a year, even if you live on rent, is at least $10K +. With millions of dollars? I always thought of the idea that since it's such a huge capital.. You could just put it in a bank with 4.5% annual interest, and live off some of it+re-deposit the rest to cover inflation. Basically free income, but who really wants to sit around all day doing nothing and playing video games :? It sounds like a dream to a teen maybe... But when you're older.. Maybe you'll want to do something that has a meaning in the world. That's why rich people don't just sit around in their mansions all day.. A lot of them start doing volunteer work for free, start foundations for poor people etc.. Because they want meaningful things to do in their life, having money just sitting there waiting to be spent is barely 'meaningful'.
