August 8, 200817 yr Did someone say they took out Kreacher though? :o Going to have to change alot of things about the Blacks house then and I was looking forward to what happens in the final book with him. They almost dropped him for the fifth movie, but Rowling made sure they put him in. But it is still going to seem totally out of the blue when his story comes along. He had like five seconds of screen time. I finally got the opportunity to actually watch that trailer, and it looks great. Really sets a good mood. Hopefully Yates will do this one more justice than he did OotP. I still can't believe that the longest book was adapted into the shortest movie, and it suffered for it. I hated that he dropped Quidditch, and now we haven't seen a Quidditch match since PoA, and that one was short. Hopefully we will see Harry as Quidditch Captain and everything in this movie.
August 9, 200817 yr Better than no air time really. And I'm sure Kretcher will pick up more air-time in the next movie, since it isn't untill the 7th when his story comes out anyways. It's going to be more 'out of the blue', as it was in the books, with griphook and their break-in of the vault to steal the cup.
August 9, 200817 yr Isn't it in the 5th book where he gets Sirius killed? That's one of his most important actions in the series. I don't even remember what they did in the movie now. :: Guess the Movie Contest Champion: pfilc23 ::
August 14, 200817 yr http://backlinemedia.com/2008/08/14/har ... d-to-2009/ The 6th installment of the Harry Potter franchise, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, had initially been set for November 21, 2008. Now it looks like fans are gonna have to wait a little longer as the release date has been moved to July 17, 2009. Warner Bros Pictures today moved back the release date of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince to day-and-date domestically and in the major international markets on July 17, 2009. Studio boss Alan Horn cited repercussions of the writers strike, which impacted the readiness of scripts for other films.. Part of me just died inside. That's what.. an EIGHT MONTH delay!?! But on the bright side, maybe now I'll get to see it with my boyfriend  - 99 fletching | 99 thieving | 99 construction | 99 herblore | 99 smithing | 99 woodcutting - - 99 runecrafting - 99 prayer - 125 combat - 95 farming - - Blog - DeviantART - Book Reviews & Blog
August 15, 200817 yr To be honest I just hate this 'dark' approach they've taken to the Harry Potter movies starting with the 5th one. That killed it like the 7th one killed the book series. The 5th one was pretty good though. I imagine the 6th will be good or better. By popular demand, this signature is back- however I currently do not have a blog up at the moment and if I did I wouldn't update it. Sorry, the sig links to nowhere :( .
August 15, 200817 yr To be honest I just hate this 'dark' approach they've taken to the Harry Potter movies starting with the 5th one. That killed it like the 7th one killed the book series. Dark is the nature of the series since ... I guess PoA , and the latter half of the PoA movie.
August 15, 200817 yr Dam it moved back by loads! Was really looking forward to it! All because of the writers strike. Did the writers acctually get anything out of that in the end? August 15, 200817 yr Dam it moved back by loads! Was really looking forward to it! All because of the writers strike. Did the writers acctually get anything out of that in the end? I honestly think that excuse about the writers' strike is BS. The script for Harry Potter was written before that... I'm sure they just think they'll get more money from the movie if it's released during the Summer. - 99 fletching | 99 thieving | 99 construction | 99 herblore | 99 smithing | 99 woodcutting - - 99 runecrafting - 99 prayer - 125 combat - 95 farming - - Blog - DeviantART - Book Reviews & Blog

People are going to see it if they want to, no matter when it's released. I guess they just assume more people will be free during summer for the launch weekend and stuff than if it was winter.. and I think the original date was sitting around the US end of term?
August 16, 200817 yr To be honest I just hate this 'dark' approach they've taken to the Harry Potter movies starting with the 5th one. That killed it like the 7th one killed the book series. Dark is the nature of the series since ... I guess PoA , and the latter half of the PoA movie. The PoA movie was the first to be dark (something wicked this way comes!) and I guess it sort of stuck with the rest of them. Besides, starting probably as Rick said with that book the whole series has been dark, minus perhaps a bit of GoF. And I don't see how DH killed the series, honestly it's one of my favorites. . . . And I am going to set a house-elf on the execs who decided to bump the movie back by eight frickin' months.
August 16, 200817 yr Author Realese date pushed allllll the way back to July 17!!!! :( This is horrible :( Have to wait so much longer! They said it would give them a bigger opening day to make more money with it. But they also said it would shorten the time between this movie and the next.

August 20, 200817 yr Films getting better as the books got worse... Seriously, books 4-6, every other line is like "Harry and Ron laughed, but Hermione looked severe" or "Harry and Ron exchanged a glance" and incessant repetition of names ... it's so annoying! The first one is far and away my favourite, the 'magical world' was introduced with so much subtlely, brilliant. I don't think the films have got too dark...The beginning of GoF definitely, but after that back to normal :) The kid who's playing Tom Riddle looks really good. I love that stare he gives before Dumbledore comes in.
August 20, 200817 yr The worst film in the series was Goblet of Fire IMO and I disagree with the person above me I think the films get worse as the books get better. Mainly because they cannot fit everything in the book into the films :( My RuneScape Blog. Click here!
August 20, 200817 yr Sucks that it got moved back again, but its going to make one hell of an epic 18th birthday party! \ Last.Fm My Bloggy Proud to have served on Tip.it Crew

August 25, 200817 yr The movies kinda suck and are totally off the lines of the books, imo. Will be sticking to the books. Not gonna watch any of the movies. Although, i did enjoy 1 and 3. Have not watched 2, and i personally think that 4 and 5 have not enough fighting in it. (not a violent person here. : )
November 1, 200817 yr Some updates: Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince International Teaser Trailer - New I'm not quite sure what's up with the last scene. I'm pretty sure the woman he's drooling at is Romilda Vane, but he's not supposed to like her...? As I said before, I don't expect it to be even half as good as the book, but I'm still excited to see it nonetheless. November 3, 200817 yr Nice trailer, though my hopes for this film are decreasing... Not sure if it's Romilda, but I've read he drools at a waitress at the beginning of the film as well. I don't remember Harry drooling over women in book 6, I thought he was pining over Ginny the whole time and face-palming while watching Ron with Lavender. Anyway. As with all the other films, it seems like they've taken the plot lines I don't particularly like and magnified them (GOF: petty argument between Ron/Harry & Ron/Hermione/Viktor triangle - OTP: angsty, angry Harry and now HBP: teenage romance) and dropped the stuff I really did like (I still keep hoping for more Snape screen time though).
November 3, 200817 yr Except for the 3rd film, the rest of the HP movies are crap. Can't believe you guys have "expectations" to begin with. :: Guess the Movie Contest Champion: pfilc23 ::
November 4, 200817 yr Except for the 3rd film, the rest of the HP movies are crap. Can't believe you guys have "expectations" to begin with. I'd say the first two were good, the third was okay, fourth was a great book but lousy movie, and fifth failed (both book and movie). November 4, 200817 yr I'm not talking about the books. I actually like the books. They're legit children's books. But the first two were good? The first reeked of horrible acting. Same with the second one. It felt like they casted the actors based on how similar they are to the book characters rather than their skills. They got the hang of it by the third IMO. :: Guess the Movie Contest Champion: pfilc23 ::
