Lenin64
Your name is "bet you fail", and you're starting a business with your mom? I'm not even going to touch that..... Anyway, I know someone who tried to start an Ebay business selling cards. Didn't go well. So don't sell cards. I guess do like the stock market; find something good for cheap, then sell again high. bet you fail
my name shouldn't have to matter, either way. I was thinking wii value packs?
Lenticular_J
That might work, although they've probably devalued since I was going to sell mine before Christmas (I didn't, and I still never use it. >:l) And don't sell bodies! catch it now so you can like it before it went so mainstream

Why shouldn't he sell bodies? I'm sure that there are plenty of necrophiles and would-be necromancers on Ebay... Ontopic: Uhm, probably something that can be easily procured, so perhaps, as a side venture, you could sell 'Haunted' objests? LIke coke cans and toasters.. Or you could make use of the 'religous figure on food item' market and manufacture 'holy' foods. I believe the VMGCS sold for several tens of thousands of dollars. You could probably make as much with artificially made religous imagery on food. But that would be lying, and we all know that noone who uses Ebay ever lies... There is no meaning or truth in life but that which we create for ourselves.

deloriagod
I was thinking wii value packs? How much money are you planning on investing? And how do you plan on making money on "value packs"? When I hear "value pack" I expect to get the pack cheaper than if I went to the store and bought it.. Internet Marketing For Newbies
indy500fan
eBay isn't really that great of a place to make a business anymore. At least that's what people tell me.
MPM
Speaking from experience, don't even bother. Unless you have a unique drop shipper, then you won't make any money. Every drop shipper that you find will be saturated to the point that you will only make something around a 10 cent profit ever item you sell. Not only that, but drop shippers are very unreliable, and if a customer has a problem with an item, it takes double time to get everything resolved. You sound like you have no idea what your doing, and that's more than enough reason to keep away from it. If you sell something, know as much about it as possible, don't go onto a forum and ask what's sold the most. Btw, on that note, check out ebay trends... It shows the most search for items in each section. My personal thought on the drop shipping opportunities you get is that they are nothing but get rich quickly ventures. Sure, you may land the big one, but you would have to be super lucky to do that. Also, don't bother with trying to import stuff as well. I imported flash drives into the US for resale. I made a total of $100 profit off of 50.... You have to have a lot of startup to actually get wholesaling worth your while. ~M
tripsis
If you know anything about cameras/photography, my friend's dad who is "hobby photographer" has made a some money from eBay by buying/selling camera lenses. He buys old lenses in groups, cleans them up a bit, takes sample photos with the lenses to paste in the description and sells them for profit. He's made several thousand dollars so far. One of the most important ways to sell your product is to show off your knowledge of the product. People who put one or two sentences describing the product features don't look very knowledgeable and therefore don't look very reliable. Prove that you know your stuff by thoroughly and accurately explaining the product (including sample photos with the lenses he was selling really helped my friend's dad out in this sense). - 99 fletching | 99 thieving | 99 construction | 99 herblore | 99 smithing | 99 woodcutting - - 99 runecrafting - 99 prayer - 125 combat - 95 farming - - Blog - DeviantART - Book Reviews & Blog
cheese666me
maybe you could sell I-pods? my friend does that as a hobby(?) and hes doing well, he has made $500 in a little bit more than a month. Why even try with that idiot? Honestly, there is no point whatsoever. I'd get better replies if I argued with a tree stump.

bet you fail
I would rather not be in a sig. but, it was her idea. We have done it before but not to this extent.
thrash-boy
if there arnt a lot of people already doing it i have an idea. i recently bought an ipod on ebay but it wasnt a new one, it was an apple certified refurb. i haven't had any problems with it at all. anyway: buy refurb ipods and other apple products here sell them for slightly more (10 or 20 dollars) on ebay. just make sure there cheaper then new ones in store and you leave it in the apple packaging and explain well what a refurb is. everyone is probably doing that already though. gongusan
Ebay is all about luck. I've had some good deals but also a few things that broke. Goodbye, 1gb of RAM :(
Lenticular_J
Yeah, it's very based on luck. They might send you a computer, or they might send you a bobcat. I wouldn't really use this as a business to pay the bills, just a little hobby. catch it now so you can like it before it went so mainstream
DaN
You can make allot of money off ebay, but not as much as you would working a normal job, which is why allot of people don't do it. With eBay it's hard to make even $5-6/hr (at max) that vs a real job of $22/hr makes eBay not worth my time, altho I do use ebay to sell old console games that I have doubles of (I collect them, for no real reason). ~Dan64AuSince 27 Aug 2002
llamster
I know someone who wrote 'My Virginity' on a piece of paper and sold it on eBay for $5. If you want to make money you'll probably have to be creative. Ah, this reminds me about the noob on the Runescape forums who was upset with the quest "Cold War" because apparently his grandparents died in the war. :wall:
DaN
I few years ago there was a storey about a "Virgin Wh0re" where a girl supposedly sold her virginity on eBay. However I don't have a source on this. ~Dan64AuSince 27 Aug 2002
Princess Viola
Hey, you should write "[insert famous person's name here]'s soul" on a piece of paper and sell it!
amoeba_009
Find a disembodied leg, wait till a famous celeberty dies in a horrible accident and sell it as their leg. Or you could prompt the accient, but then you can get the actual leg. :o \
