Since we're on the topic, is waking up coughing a real thing? Or like being kept up coughing?

 

Maybe I'm just lucky but I've never really experienced either, to my memory, so always assume someone is just exaggerating when they say something like that.

It's not unheard of. Pretty much coughing enough to the point where you wake yourself up. I've had patients wake up with a lot of congestion due to bad pneumonia, etc because they have something called nocturnal paroxysmal dyspnea (pretty much being unable to breathe). But that's something far different.

I've definitely seen the congestion/can't breathe crowd before and that makes sense to me.

 

Just never had a terrible cough I guess.

yesterday I couldn't fall asleep until about 4:00 am when I found out covering my head suppresses my cough

when I was younger I lived in a house where I was allergic to something in it (mold or something), and frequently would be unable to sleep because of coughing.

 

Coughing like that is terrible and terrifying.

As someone that's had pneumonia 7 times in their life I can say with full certainty that coughing can and will keep you from sleeping. It blows.

I played dnd with the boys using my level 11 Elf Rogue cause I'm a pansy but today was special. We were awarded "[bleep] yeah / [bleep] no" d20s in addition to our normal die if we were feeling frisky. So basically we can roll the special d20 anytime we would normally roll but the 20 is especially good, with the risk of the 1 being especially bad.

 

Cut to a white dragon ambushing us in the tundra where I have advantage in stealth due to my wolf pelt clothing and I get first round attack.

 

I miss.

 

So no assassinate bonus, but it's ok because I basically disappear in the snow afterward.

 

Next round, I feel it. I roll the special d20. [bleep] YEAH. So now my bow is doing 3d8 piercing + sneak attack 6d6 bonus BUT it's also a crit, so it's 12d6. I only own 5d6 so I roll the first 5. All 6s. All [bleep]ing 6s. My sixth was a 5. Nearly perfect damage. 6 6s would have been a 1/7776 chance but damn was I close. The next set was less impressive but I still ended up doing something like 84 damage on a basic attack roll.

Damn RPG, that's a hell of a session.

I uninstalled iTunes several years back as it became a crappier piece of software, and now I want to buy some music which appears to only be on the iTunes store, it looks like I'm going to have to reinstall it. And in my desperate attempt to find some way to avoid that fate, all the articles I'm reading talking about how the service is getting crappier just reaffirms by suspicion that it's a terrible piece of software, and I'm glad to have gotten out years ago.

SoulseekQt is a fantastic program for finding difficult things to find.

I haven't purchased music ever, but somehow ended up with 90 some GB of songs...

 

But for real, I don't think anything exclusively exists on iTunes. There's got to be a physical copy or a YouTube mirror you could get instead. Anything is better than that dreadful Apple BS

The problem is the artist doesn't have a western distribution channel, so it's not that surprising that it's exclusively available on iTunes.

Same thing here. Some burger joint near where i live. We were the only ones there, but the food was amazing at least.

I was under the impression that civilian contracts wouldn't be paid, but I guess that's only if the contract didn't receive prior funding

I don't know if anyone remembers, but one of the companies I applied for was so slow they were asking if I was interested after I already got another one and moved here.

 

Now when I'm on StackOverflow (at work) looking at questions/answers, half the time I see the very same company with three ads on the page soliciting applications. That can't be cheap - I guess inefficiency bites, doesn't it!

I added the Cthulhuian parasite miniboss. It has two mechanics: a chant that activates the Soul Siphon, causing 50% damage; and they can resurrect their fallen comrades. It's easy enough if you know the mechanics.
