Ok i had a 4 month break from playing RS, when i come back it turns out my password isnt what it used to be,hmm? so i submit an appeal and get my account back, i get on to find some stuff which i never had on my guy and summoning level, level 4 (i stopped playing before summoning was released) so i play for a bit, then he jacks it again, then i get it back again, this activity stops for about 1 week, during the week i become a member so i can finish the Long Postponed Hero's quest, so one day i try to log back in, password doesnt work..., so i submit an appeal and get it back, i find my character way away from where i logged off, with some new equipment on my guy which i never remembered buying, during this time period i also found my friends list dramatically reduced with some people i hadnt put there, one person greeted me and asked "Is this Dwayne?" and i said no, i also told him this was the orginal creator of the account. So i play my guy 1 day, then i find it is stolen later that day AGAIN, (The hacker asked one of my RL friends for a fishing pole) so the account gets locked for the massive amount of appeals, i submit a lock appeal and after 7 hours it is still pending, does anyone have any advice on how to get my character back and prevent the other guy from stealing it? (i have reset my recovery questions once and he still stole it) i have played this guy for a long time and got him to level 75 and my friends started playing again too, i guess i will say goodbye to the good ole Runescape if i cant get my account back

Scan your computers for spyware, trojans, ect. Set yourself a pin... (No way to hack that...) After you find all of them, set a new password, recovery, ect.

wow did you even do sos? do a VIRUS SCAN and CHANGE YOUR PASS

Norton phails, but whatever. Your pin is your other option, try and hold onto your account for 7 days for the pin to become active. If he can't get in your bank, then he might get frustrated.

You could also try making another free account and see if he steals that. If he does, or it logs on from a different IP, it's concluded that the problem is at your end; meaning your computer.

Eh, I had both before my mum did a rollback(because the internet wouldn't connect. -.- ). AVG found a ton of warnings (tracking cookies) that Norton never did. Although they're not as serious as something like a trojan, I got rid of them before they were any problem. Not that they would have caused much. :| It really just comes down to opinion I suppose.

Oh well, it doesn't matter what anti-virus you use. Just do a full system scan and post up what you found.

Change your password and change your recoveries. Run a virus scan and remove any viruses. Viruses can be cleverly disguised in [Caution: Executable File] files too, especially keyloggers.

Yes, and make sure your virus scanner is up to date aswell.

Type out your password/recoveries on another computer, save it onto a flash drive, then save it onto your computer via flashdrive, and then copy and paste the new password/recoveries onto the official Jagex website to change your username's password. (Rembember to not type out your password, and to not log onto the game on your computer.)

 

The person getting onto your account will not know the new password, and will give up trying. While you are doing all of that, run a virus scanner. If it does not pick up anything on your computer, a shotgun to the CPU seems like a reasonable answer.

OK, 1) I wouldn't care about getting a virus or anything because I do these program by myself.

 

2) If you are online for 7 days and doing nothing at all, you wouldn't get banned.

if your on a mac and you hold the arrow key, then hit the expose button and go back onto the same window the window keeps spinning, and you could possibly go on for as long as youre computer and internet can handle. not that i ever do this. i just found out i could do it by accident.

make a pin so that everything is secure... then get it back and change password. make sure u viruscan

How about making it random :).. like 30 minutes moving right arrow and then move camera u and 1 hour left arrows. keep teleporting in like 10 different locations then talk a bit to people ... bank move things in bank... walk again in bank for a bit keep moving right arrows for 5 hours and rebank move some things... go to zezima's clan chat and keep saying like wc lvl? rc lvl? i love my life. how are u guys.. and then keep teleporting and rebanking and then log out... re login and reddo same things as i stated above but for different amount of time and not in same order.
