Nexaduro
I'm currently watching Lucky Star right now. It's not as serious as a lot of the other animes that I've watched so far, but I'm finding it really funny and I'm loving all of the references to other animes.Just wait till you get to the second half, you'll laugh your head off. I finished the series a few days ago - It was really funny; I definitely enjoyed it.Nichijou, Azumanga Daioh, Kill Me Baby Watch now 10:53 PM - retech9691: I feel the need10:53 PM - retech9691: To include many chasms in my story arc10:53 PM - Resistance: You mean plotholes? TTanT
So, that Suisei no Gargantia episode....[hide=Spoilers]Stuff I found interesting: -Even though the main character escaped, mankind just lost a pivotal battle against whatever those things they were fighting were. I'm sure that isn't good for mankind.-The information spewed out in the opening scene was so heavily propagandized and hateful (calling the aliens lower beings and such) that I feel like the human race may not have been the good guys there.-The ending credits were completely half-assed, just like the ending credits of the first few episodes of Madoka Magica. This reinforces guesses that this series will have a major genre shift.-The mentions of mankind's main home, and how the main character would be granted the privilege of living there for a few weeks in exchange for his >100000 hours of service just add to my thoughts that mankind has turned into a dystopian society.-Why would Earth have been forgotten? What drove much of mankind away from it?[/hide] Edit:Just watched Shingeki No Kyojin episode 1.... Intense as heck. The only difference between Hitler and the man next door who comes home and beats his kids every day is circumstance. The intent is the same-- to harm others.[hide=Tifers say the darndest things]I told her there was a secret method to doing it - and there is - but my once nimble and agile fingers were unable to perform because I was under the influence.I would laugh, not hate. I'm a male. :(Since when was Ireland an island...? :wall:I actually have a hobby of licking public toilet seats.[/hide]
Nexaduro
So. Suisei no Gargantia 2. I'm concerned for the Mech; low power doesn't bode well. I foresee problems 'charging' from the sea galaxies, if that even ends up being possible. If it isn't he'll probably make his exit after a second round of the Limiter Override thing, fighting pirates or space-baddies descending on Earth. Manly tears will be had. Might even be that Red goes with him, sinks or something, but it would hurt the impact if he wasn't left behind to mourn. On the note of the sea galaxies, the lightning seemed to bring up some bad memories with Red. Unsurprisingly. Foreshadowing? Maybe they're related to the Hideous? I'm going to go ahead and assume the series ends up having the humans return to Earth, and the protagonist fighting them. Can't be sure with Urobochi subverting expectations, but that sort of thing almost always results from scenarios like this. If it turns out that way I don't doubt it will end in tragedy and widespread shipsplosion; either all the natives will die, or all the invading spacers. Or both, if there's some surprise twist that makes the Hideous sympathetic. EDIT: Ah, forgot the most obvious theories; next episode starts with Red at gunpoint and/or under threat of exile, the series is setting us up for a mid-game boss in the form of the named pirate leader trying to capture Red and his Mech, and the inevitable relationship between Red and that girl whose name I don't remember yet will be strained and put off thanks to his nonchalant murder of at least a few dozen people. 10:53 PM - retech9691: I feel the need10:53 PM - retech9691: To include many chasms in my story arc10:53 PM - Resistance: You mean plotholes? [hide=spoilers]The lightning strongly reminded me of the blasts shot by the Hideous, personally. Maybe Earth was their birthplace/houses a related species? However I'm also pretty interesting in that shooting star. That was a blatant Chekhov's Gun moment- writers tend not to remember shooting stars except for wishes and alien invasions. Also I feel like more pirates attacking Red would just result in more dead pirates. Even if he's low on power he's demonstrated that he can obliterate them with barely any effort. It may even scare off the pirates. Personally I'm expecting half an episode of distrust followed by a few "peaceful" episodes before shit starts to hit the fan.[/hide] The only difference between Hitler and the man next door who comes home and beats his kids every day is circumstance. Nexaduro
No, but I am watching a playthrough of Saya no Uta. And may I say; holy [bleep], that game is incredibly disturbing. Not to mention, I thought since I was watching on youtube, the nastiness would have to be censored. Alg
And may I say; holy [bleep], that game is incredibly disturbing. Is it the kind of disturbing that you'd find in surreal horror, or the kind that makes you wonder if you're a horrible person? TTanT
I'm actually slowly playing through Saya no Uta (slowly because I'm not often in the mood to subject myself to that and I don't want anyone screenlooking when I play it). It's both, Alg. Just... both. And censoring the nastiness in Saya no Uta would require half the scenes to just be completely blacked out. So I start watching the second episode and all of a sudden BAM canoodling. I kinda feel like I should be reporting that video. 10:53 PM - retech9691: I feel the need10:53 PM - retech9691: To include many chasms in my story arc10:53 PM - Resistance: You mean plotholes? TTanT
^If someone is watching Saya no Uta LP's they should expect it. Because trust me it gets WAY worse. I'm expecting everything to go to hell somehow, just because the Urobutcher was part of the project and I don't ever recall him being involved in a happy piece. He might surprise us, though. I've almost finished Code Geass R2, and boy are these last few episodes full of twists. TTanT
^Funfact: If you mixed your Nichijou clips appropriately you could easily fool a person into believing it was the most hardcore anime in all existence. ...And now I'm sad again because I just realized we'll never get more Nichijou.... The_Gabe
Episode 5 of To Aru kagaku no Railgun S was so gorey and awesome... J.C Staff has done an amazing job. Alg
Found the first volume of Berserk, as part of my "get into anime and manga" attempt. I'm torn between liking the awesome art and interesting take on the fantasy genre, and disliking the gratuitous and almost senseless violence (even though that's probably the point), and it apparently only gets darker from there. nine naked men
Also getting back into anime but I'm watching Attack on Titan and finding it pretty enjoyable. I tried to read the manga once I caught up on the episodes but the artist is kinda shitty. It was sold to me as something that subverts a lot of shitty shounen tropes and it's doing an alright job of that so far. sleep like dead men wake up like dead men

I mean I already know exactly how it ends and I'm still finishing each episode completely hyped for the next. The Sister's Arc is as bloody as as was imagined. It's great to see the story from Misaka's perspective and how she failed to win by a long shot against Accelerator when she talked about it to Touma.
