O_o Lately I've been catching up with the usual common ones, Bleach, Naruto and Fairy Tail. Soul eater Finishing up, Watched Blue Exorcist, Claymore, Black Butler, Break Blade (talk about a cliff-hanger of a series, both anime and manga), Seikon no Qwaser, Pandora Hearts, Togainu No Chi, Air Gear and some others here and there. This particular manga-based anime series is probably the most filler-free show you could watch. And then I saw the movie version with a friend, because jesus that was amazing.Then I went and watched Steins;Gate and what is now my guilty pleasure- the To Aru series. I also watched Sword Art Online recently but it ended up disappointing me. Anyone have any good series with unpleasant surprises that will satisfy my masochistic love of being made sad by cartoons? Basically I want the same type of gut punches Madoka gave out like candy. The only difference between Hitler and the man next door who comes home and beats his kids every day is circumstance. I'm a huge fan of sad anime too and I've watched my fair share of it but Clannad is definitely the best I've ever seen.I also really enjoyed angel beats, it's a pity it's so short. The manga version is arguably a lot better though, as it goes further and gets pretty intense for a while (the SIsters Arc from Misaka's point of view has an incredibly nightmarish feel to it). Recently watched Clannad, Clannad Afterstory, and Angel Beats. I really don't have any real complaints about any of them, other than the fact that final episode of Clannad Afterstory was a recap was kind of boring (I basically marathon-ed the entire series so everything was still fresh). Also finished Bokurano, and am debating whether I should start on a new anime or actually spend my time doing something useful for a while.
