Rarex
So I just reread the August's Behind the Scenes article and it nowhere said anything about the RC Guild being p2p or f2p. I personally believe that the Runecrafting Guild will be F2P. Reason is, we haven't gotten a guild in over 5 years! Its time for F2P to get a real guild, yo! :) Now, post yours. Why or why not? Are you pro-p2p, and a total hater of f2pers? Do you think F2P should get nothing at all? Discuss, mate! (dude, bro, man, buddy, dog, mate, friend) August 12, 2008: RC Guild released and its f2p. -Retired from Runescape on August 12, 2008-Working out topicEverything related to working out! Runeman231
I don't hate F2p but I sure hate YOU for all of your troll-like posts here on TIF. On-Topic: Yes, It is a possibility but I find it very unlikely.
Lacoste
No.... it shouldn't be ftp, noticing how the skill is not commonly used or liked in ftp.
casthewiz
There is nothing to say that it isn't f2p, but nothing to say that it is ftp. Imo, they need to update the range guild to actually make it useful instead of adding more guilds. No witty signatures for me :(
Omali
It doesn't say anything about things being p2p or f2p, unless it's going to be f2p. So no, the runecrafting guild probably won't be f2p, unless the mini-game will be conspicuously absent.

The Range Guild was added very early on. I can't remember if during RS1 or sometime after RS2 came out. Anyways, it is very basic and pretty much useless NOWadays. -Retired from Runescape on August 12, 2008-Working out topicEverything related to working out! Ask questions, get honest answers. Derrick44444
You seen discussion on f2p in the other forum. And yes you open crap threads like these that are unneeded all the time. (I've seen maybe one legit thread you made; d chain one, too bad someone stole that one from you.) You've been banned from here as well. I hope is they lock this thread and let the original thread maker keep his thread going and watch this one die. Please do not comment here go to the other one there is talk of what level the guild will be at, what it will contain, and if it will be f2p. timmyx50
i cant realy see them adding the RC guild in ftp, the reson being it wouldnt fit anywhere. :| i cant think of any place it would fit in ftp land without adding new land and i dont think they would do all that work for a guild that may have nothing BIG to offer. Erichermit
I don't think it will be f2p for this reason: When something is not specified whether or not it will be p2p or f2p, it is p2p. The only time it is for f2p too, they state that the update will be given to f2p. Do you hate Wyverns or Warped Terrorbirds? Think again! Zierro
The fact that Jagex didn't mention if it was members or not isn't very good evidence. They don't tell us about that in the majority of their updates - and why would they need to? 99% of all updates are for P2P. Actually, you could probably hope that every future update is going to be F2P if that's what makes you happy.
raaarga
Members are gonna say we don't deserve it. This'll turn into another F2P bashing thread. So no, the runecrafting guild probably won't be f2p, unless the mini-game will be conspicuously absent. That is one fair theory but it no where says that the mini-game and the Guild will be near each other. Yes it does. I suggest you read this again. In the guild, wizards will be bent over books, trying desperately to unlock the secrets of Runecrafting. How is a rune made? Why are yellow and green orbs released when the reaction occurs? For Runecrafting scholars, these questions pale in comparison with the following: which is more significant - green orbs or yellow orbs? For years arguments have raged on, and two wizards will be creating something that'll end the debate once and for all: the Great Orb Project! The Great Orb Project will be a fun minigame for two opposing teams who have been given one simple task: collect more orbs than the other team. Only problem is, your opponents will do all they can to stop you winning - including pushing your orbs away before you can get to them! This fast-paced and manic minigame will offer you a great alternative for training your Runecrafting, with minimal fuss, tutorials or complex rules. Zox
Why do I even pay for membership when F2P is getting just about as many updates as P2P? I really hope it isn't F2P, just so the F2P'ers begin to stop expecting updates. I don't "hate" free players, I simply think that you've been getting too many updates and have become quite demanding for more.
ForsakenMage
From looking back at the "Behind the Scenes" from previous months, I think the guild will be P2P. Normally Jagex would indicate if something is for both, UNLESS it's something that would affect everyone for sure, like the Grand Exchange and LootShare. And for the record, "F2P getting updates," change that to "everyone getting updates," because honestly, when "F2Pers get updates," P2Pers are getting the same updates as well. Adventurer's Log || YouTube || Facebook || Tip.it Times Work || Wanna Join the Editorial Panel?Maxed Out 01 October 2012 PDT

Take FOG for example, the rewards that are F2P could've been a lot better if Jagex made FOG P2P only.

I don't "hate" free players, I simply think that you've been getting too many updates and have become quite demanding for more. I agree with this. It would be really stupid of Jagex to make every update f2p, which f2p would absolutely LOVE, or so it seems. However, if that happened, EVERYONE would be f2p. P2p would be rendered obsolete. For this reason... No. You will not be getting this guild. You will not get the next quest they announce, just because it's in a f2p area. You will not get a new skill. You will not get everything that f2p is demanding they get. You already get MUCH more than you pay for.* *Which is nothing.
Ouchy
As much as I would like it to be an update to everyone, I do not think it will be. JAGeX just won't release it to F2P, as they have given us a lot recently. JAGeX are trying to make money, like every other company in this world. If they give it out to F2P, then people will be influenced to stay in F2P longer, so JAGeX will not have as many customers as they potentially could. pokemama
{lol, while i was composing, db300 posted the same thing I was writing as my conclusion. +1!} Yes, but the rewards are/would be crappy for P2P'ers. Take FOG for example, the rewards that are F2P could've been a lot better if Jagex made FOG P2P only. You honestly think Jagex would have given better rewards for this mini game if they didn't do the update for both? Jagex gives what they give, it's all planned. Andrew Gower likes to make sure the game stays "balanced", so the items they add in are very carefully considered. They've provided plenty of P2P mini games in the past with disappointing rewards, so the inclusion of F2P on this was immaterial. And a lot of people really LIKE the FOG rewards. Why do I even pay for membership when F2P is getting just about as many updates as P2P? This is just ... I'm speechless. "as many" ?!!! This year has seen the FIRST f2p updates in I-don't-know-how-long. Yes, they've given F2P more than one update this year. People, THINK. Why does Jagex offer F2P at all? To give people a chance to try out their product, in the hopes they'll get interested and join members. The more cool stuff they offer in F2P, the more intriguing it will be to potential customers. Gnomecopters, duel arena+clanwars+bountyhunter (all replacing PKing), tabbed banking, the diary, HD ... all improvements that show new players what a great game RS is, and make it enjoyable enough that they'll want to pay to get the amazing additional goodies in P2P. The 'free trial' aspect is a key feature for Runescape. Jagex isn't stupid, they know exactly what it's costing them versus what it's bringing in. And they will continue to adjust it as they see fit in order to bring in customers. The most sensible F2Pers (who cannot join members for whatever reasons, none of our business) would never say they are entitled to updates. They do not EXPECT updates. But surely they can optimistically HOPE for them. Why begrudge them that? it's a lot easier to get over yourself when you look at intelligence the same way you look at beauty, or height, or eye color: being smart is easy, but being good is hard ... being smart is handed to you, being good is handed to *nobody*.
