US Naval Aramada set to blockade Iran?

The US is going to invade Iran. Why? Who knows, whatever 'terrorist' attack is next will undoubtly give us the excuse. And then we'll go into Iran to 'liberate the Iranian people'

(In the above text, terrorist = Covert US agency, and Liberate the Iranian people = steal all of their oil, make massive profits for defence contractors.)

There is no meaning or truth in life but that which we create for ourselves.

First i've heard about it. Last thing i heard was something about a surge in Afghanland....perhaps it was going in support of that.

I need a more credible source. That link just sounds like its trying to stir up the hornet's nest. Especially since the whole argument revolves around a blockade for oil.

We've always had ships over there. In case you don't know, Iran is right next to Iraq and near Afghanistan. Gasp. We have ships all over the world, and of course they're set to blockade whoever, just in case the order comes down. That's how they do it.

catch it now so you can like it before it went so mainstream

I highly doubt any of this speculations about a blockade is going to happen. First off If you search for any articles about this issue nothing comes up that shows any serious credibility. Second Right now Geogria is a bigger issue that needs dealings with right now. Thirdly as far as an Iran blockade I found through searching cnn.com that a measure was brought up in congress but was but was stalled by grassroots opponents of the issue as many have called it the first step to war with Iran, and as it being an election year I highly doubt the US will go into war with another country until after the election if they choice too but again I highly doubt its going to happen.

I doubt it highly. America do not wish to cause a disturbance to Iran, as Iran wouldn't to America. If it were to happen it would just cause a pointless war. Unless America have good reason, then they wouldn't do anything. I'm sure that Iran is well developed in terms of warfare. Then again, there was the Iraq war. :?

Saying it aloud is probably "bad karma" but it's how the truth is and many know it; Just a realistic military threat against Iran would pump crude oil prices up maybe 10-15% in a matter of hours.

If you're in the management board of an oil company and have millions of shares, it's a quite perfect scheme to make a few hundred million overnight. All you need is the political connections to make the threat happen.

I heard they used up all three they had. They're gonna have to rely on more photoshop to wage this war.

I heard about that.

There are more important things going on right now. Iran isn't a big deal.

no iran isn't, either china or america will be the badass enemy of the world in the next world war (i reckon) and Russia will fight for the good guys

yes, once america would backstab europe (if they would) i'm sure russia would fight for europe..

if china would attack, russia will suffer consequences, as they are right next to china, so they will help too..

Yeah, I'm sure we'll sever all diplomatic relations and "backstab" one of our largest groups of allies in every way.

Besides, Russia would only want to "fight for" Eastern Europe.

honestly, i believe that if the bush admin wanted to wage an effective war in the mid-east, they should've attacked iran instead of iraq in the 1st place.

now don't get me wrong...saddam was a horrible man. however iran has made threats about wiping israel off the map.

imo, that's more of a concern than getting even with the man who tried to assisinate ur dad (yes, george dubya, i'm talking to u!)

They will if Congress pass C.R. 362 and S.R. 580: Bills to Blockade Iran from Importing Refined Petroleum.

[hide=]Concurrent Resolution 362 and similar Senate Resolution 580 , express the sense of Congress concerning Irans alleged pursuit of nuclear weapons. In addition to economic, political, and diplomatic means to pressure Iran into suspending nuclear enrichment activities, both the House and Senate bills strongly urge the President to lead an international effort to blockade Irans importation of refined petroleum in order to crush its economy.
