August 21, 200817 yr A kid in my little brothers grade was diagnosed with terminal cancer halfway through the year, and all he wanted was to finish out and graduate from highschool. He died the day before graduation. They had his parents come up and receive his cap, gown, and certificate thing. I cry just typing this and thinking of it. Oh hell, that's awful. :(

August 23, 200817 yr Actual running tears is rare for me, which is probably more to do with my physiology than any kind of machoness, there are plenty of occasions when I feel a "welling up" inside. Listening to certain pieces of music and thinking about loved ones i've lost can do it, and some stories I read in the paper (child abuse, tragic murders etc.) make me choke up a bit. A couple of years ago I went to Normandy and we went around quite a few of the war cemetries, they're pretty moving experiences. "Da mihi castitatem et continentam, sed noli modo"

August 24, 200817 yr I dont know. Im not very emotional, and i didnt shed a tear when my aunt who i was extremely close with passed last year. ( Probably beacuse i knew she was out of her misery, her life was very bad at the time) But when i left a program called Upward Bound we do this candlelight vigil thingy at the end and it always gets me. (Upward Bound is a 6wk summer program for college prep for 1st year college students) Probalby because i met some of the coolest people ever there and had the time of my life.
