Sprout_teh_druid
Well, this sucks. My dad's credit card expired and had to be renewed a week after the price changes.... I just happened to run out of membership during that time, and I have to pay the new price... I hate timing. :wall: Can be looted to obtain a variable item and reobtain the imp jar. Omali
It's only a dollar more. With all the recent updates, it's worth it. I'll have to do this in 2010 when my credit card expires, though.

If the CORPORAL beast is this hard, imagine how hard a GENERAL or COLONEL beast would be. a corporal is not even an admirable rank in armies that use that ranking system. Yeah, it is a pking minigame, so any arguments anybody makes will probably be biased. The best way this will end :Everybody just says,"I'm not arguing with you anymore, goodbye."The worst way this will end: I don't really know, psychological warfare? (If you're looking on the bright side of things, and if your not dwelling on the small, dull things. :P ) A dollar is still a lot of money.. If you look at it in the long run, it may look like that, but by paying for membership, you are definately getting practically a whole other BIG game in return. Plus, you are happier having membership. (Hopefully) :
konzserwas
duuuudes, maybe you should read teh news archives once again : [If you are an existing member and you allow your membership to lapse for more than two weeks (after the 18th of August), you will be charged the new rate when you re-subscribe. Credit card renewal shouldn't take two weeks, should it? :anxious:
Bauke
It's only a bit more, and it's only fair since they haven't increased their prices over the last few years, while there was a certain inflation going on. Nothing to really rant about imo. Twitter ||| Google+ ||| Facebook ||| LinkedIn ||| My very interesting weblog about science
loi86
They had to raise prices because they lost a lot of people, also the value of the American dollar is going down. Retired from Runescape September 1, 2008
konzserwas
After wildereness removal they lost 60K memberships (official number) Considering they still report over 1 million members this is less that 6%.. How is that "a lot of people"?

How is that "a lot of people"? That's 3.6 million dollars a year they lost. I highly doubt Jagex is putting all of their revenue back into the company.

Sprout_teh_druid
Part of the problem is that i'm saving up for Spore and I can't really afford to renew my subscription now. I probobly will end up renewing it by the end of the year, but lately, RS has been somewhat boring, with most of the content being out of my reach/intrest. They compensate for not having to chase RWT'ers all day now. Also, where does it say they lost 60k members? I'd like to see a source on that information. Not really. Just buy like 60 days of membership with the card so you have plenty of time. To the OP, that sucks, and while it is only a dollar more per month, that does add up over time, even if not much.
ShadowTheHedgehog
if your quick you can go to your local wal-mart or a store that specializes in video games and buy a $20 (i think that's the only ammount) card for runescape. my only question is are they going to increase the ammount of money on those cards later, 20 bucks gets you 4 months of membership on the old rates but only 3 with some coins left over using the new subscription rates (rough estimate, but it stinks having un-usable cash on a card :x ). Will H
Due to inflation, the actual cost of membership is only very slightly higher than what it originally was. It's just gone down slowly over the years and readjusted itself back to normal again.
